Pros: There are no pros
Cons: It's a Discover card for god's sake!

I used to have one years ago, but I finally got rid of it because less and less retailers were accepting it.

My advice to you would be to get a Visa or Mastercard since owning a Discover card nowadays is akin to still using a laserdisc or Betamax.

Pros: Everything except 1
Cons: Not accepted everywhere

I've had Discover for a while. I feel safe buying things with ths card. The web site is very fast. I got a Discover card because I never really liked any credit card. One time I accidently buyed 2 colored printers instead of 1.
Discover told me I buyed 2. I told Discover I was only buying 1 and Discover fixed it right away. I unfortunately I still have to have a Visa card because Discover is not accepted everywhere. But that's not Discover's problem. They are also big sponsers of Mills Corp my favorite malls.

Pros: None.
Cons: Still many merchants do not take this card.

Discover deserves the credit for inventing the cash back program. That was a radical marketing gismo. Unfortunately, everyone and their brother has imitated and improved on Discover's cash back program.

Also, with Discover you constantly have to ask yourself: "Does this merchant take this card?"

Why waste your time. Just get a Visa or Mastercard cash rebate card and never have to worry about whether a merchant takes such cards.

Pros: Easy to open account, nice blue card
Cons: Telemarketers, pushy sales reps, difficult to close account

Every week I got a call from Discover card pushing me to use the card. I finally decided to close the account, and the guy on the phone was relentless! It takes 45 seconds to open the account and it's nearly impossible to close it! Rude customer service reps!

Pros: If you want to go into debt, discover will show you the way.
Cons: Google search: "discover card gripe" & see what kind of representatives they have.

Discover recently called my house stating that someone attempted to use our discover card online. They happily closed out our old account just a day before I usually make my payment online. Then, when I attempted to make my payment, I was told that I would need to wait another day for the new account number. I was charged a late charge for this. I was also stunned to "discover" that my interest rate was skyrocketed to 22%. Unbelievable! I tried to explain this to the customer service department, but have merely been given the run around. Their representative then spoke to my husband saying that they needed a statement in writing. We sent that in and today we received a reply that stated "we apologize, but your account has been DELINQUENT!!! in the past 12 months. I am shocked at Discover card customer service and will never use their credit card ever again.

Pros: The cashback program is great if you take the cash.
Cons: The "Partners" program is a scam.

I was very surprised to find the $30 certificates from Omaha Steaks purchased under the Cashback Rewards Partners program are only good for the items listed in the flyer that accompanies the certificates. The real shocker was the items were marked up $10 over the catalog I had just received from Omaha Steaks. For example the Omaha Steaks catalog I had just received listed item 922BN – a package of 4 Boneless 8 ounce Strip Steaks for $39.99 plus you can take an additional 10% off (total $35.99); that item in the “Cashback Rewards Partners” flyer is $49.99.

Pros: I do not have to work with them anymore.
Cons: Not reasonable.

Discover... Yes I discovered today why everyone thinks that your company is worthless, and waste of time.  What percent of consumers choose Discover over Visa and Mastercard; not many!  And here is one of the reasons.
First of all you are stuck with a rude representative who would not listen to you so you can explain yourself. This guy was constantly speaking-yelling and would not even let me speak, and after that he would not put his manager on the phone claiming that his manager would not deal with me.  What kind of a customer service is this.  But here is the good part. I do not have to deal with you guys ever again and I see there are many people who share the same opinion.

Pros: First card I was able to obtain 17 years ago
Cons: exorbitant interest rate

My Discover card started out as a Sears card 17 years ago. It has been  great. I didn't know what would happen if I  made a late payment because I never had in 17 years. In October I forgot and paid a few hours late. The interest rate on my card zoomed to over 25%. I am very disappointed in their action. It's like a marriage gone bad. I have the resources to pay off the balance ;however, some persons may not and these people will just have to take it in the behind.

All they care about is money, at least ever since they increased their APR and decreased their credit limit to cause over the limit charges and late fees for several customers. I’ve been with them for seven years and would not recommend them to anyone.

Pros:
They will remind you three times daily that you are late with a payment EVEN if you are attempting to pay them as much as you can.

Cons:
I'm not going to talk about the Cons, 'cause if you don't like the Pros there's no need to.

***Be Advised***..... The people who gave the Discover Card 5 stars were probably paid $$$ by Discover to do so.

Pros: Good billing department customer service assistance
Cons: Exorbitant interest rates. WORST credit card protection plan customer service support and follow through.

Recently I took over the finances from my wife (bless her little cotton socks) including quite a burdensome debt on our Discover Card. When I received the first statement I noticed a $60.00 per month credit card protection plan premium. Certainly nothing that I nor my wife authorized. So I gave them a call and they immediately stopped the charge. I also asked for a written letter providing me with the proof of the enrollment. They said 4-6 weeks. I was okay with that. Yesterday, some EIGHT weeks later they said 1. The enrollment was in December of 2001 and they are not required to keep proof of enrollment any longer than 3 years. How convenient. They also said after I began to get a little warmer (not hot) with the customer service representative that they HAD mailed the letter. Now a Discover Card bill has NEVER gone astray and I've moved FIVE times...amazing yet one little letter, presumably mailed to the same address as the billing address never made it here. How unlucky for me? Buyer beware of underhanded practices.

Cons: Do not get/use Discover.

Do not EVER sign up for "Wallet Protection" from Discover Card. I just called them about a bill for this, as I also rarely use Discover; in fact I don't even have the card. The rep I spoke said that "Wallet Protection" was a separate company and I had to call ANOTHER 800 number to get rid of it! Yeah, right. And 9/11 was an inside job. 

The lesson learned here is "Protect your Wallet"
