Pros: 4.9% interest! A point for every dollar! $10 for 1000 points! Cons: B&N certificates expire in 90 days
I really didn't need to apply for another credit card. I want to buy a house and I was trying to keep my credit history spotless, but when I received an offer in the mail for a credit card with 4.9% interest, I had to apply. The Card The card ...
Pros: Good customer service when problems arise Cons: Rewards program needs complete revamping
This card is so-so. I did get m $10 reward certificate after making the first purchase about 3 months after the fact. They are generous in the amount of credit they have given me. It seems to go up about a thousand every other month. As I pay off ...
Pros: Double points for purchases from Barnes and Noble, no Annual Fee Cons: Rewards are mediocre and expire quickly, sign-up bonus was never received
At first glance, the Barnes and Noble Mastercard looks attractive, especially to those who do not yet own a credit card with an associated reward program. There is no annual fee, and (supposedly) they will ship you $50 in reward certificates after using...
Pros: online account access Cons: certificates expire after 3 months
Obviously, this card if for Barnes&Noble fans only, if you don't like spending some hours at B&N stores or shopping at their website, this card is definitely not for you.
Good reward program
you earn one point for every dollar you...
Pros: Mastercard, reward certificates for Barnes and Noble, overall good experience with customer service. Cons: Mastercard, certificates do expire fairly quickly, not many other rewards.
I used to be a loyal bookstore customer, specifically Barnes and Noble. I don't have any problem with B&N in particular, it's just that Amazon.com's site is much easier and cheaper when it comes to buying books. However, the Barnes and Noble card ...
Pros: Earns points for merchandise Cons: Misleading advertising, long wait for reward certs, problems in redeeming
I used to own the Amazon.com Credit Card until the card provider (Nextcard) went bust. So I switched to the bn.com credit card, enticed by an offer for a $20 reward certificate on first use. Months later, no reward certificate. I called MBNA and was told...
Pros: online access, no annual fee, good APR for rewards card Cons: No major cons.
I have had this MBNA Barnes & Noble card for just over a year, and have really
been enjoying the benefits. I like that Barnes and Noble carries books, music and
movies, rather than JUST books. My boyfriend loves to read, though, and part of...
Pros: Great For Bibliophiles - Good Rewards - Low Interest Rates Cons: Certificates Expire Quickly and Cannot Be Used Both In-store and Online
For those who love to read, this is the perfect credit card. Each dollar spent at Barnes & Noble earns two points on the card, while elsewhere it's one point per dollar. Either way, once you get to 1000, Barnes & Noble sends your choice of either an...
Pros: Earn B&N Reward Certificates, Online Account Access Cons: Reward certificates don't work at both online and retail stores
The Barnes & Noble Platinum Plus credit card is an excellent option for those who shop for books, music, videos, and games often. The highlight of this credit card is its reward program. You get 1 point for every dollar you spend and 2 points for every...
Pros: Opportunity to earn rewards is similar to other cards. Cons: Reward certificates have a short shelf-life.
I am very slow to change credit cards and have used a Private Issue Card by Discover since they were introduced. But I found that I was beginning to earn more by using another reward card that I have so when MBNA called and asked me to try this card, I...
Pros: They have the Barnes & Noble name but not their quality service. Cons: NOT convenient & reps who read off supplied cards, freezes defeated purpose of card.
Never never get this card! It is the worst customer service and policies I've seen in decades. When I attempted to charge on my fully paid account, they would freeze it for so called security reasons. The clerks would continually say it was declined. That was embarrassing and maddening for someone who has great credit and pays their bills fully & on time. When I called the customer service they would say they want to make sure it was me charging on it. They put security freezes on it constantly and for stupid reasons. It's not worth the hassle or embarrassment of having to stop and call. I use credit cards for convenience and it's NOT convenient. They say the security features cannot be removed. This may be a good card for people who are clinically paranoid, or those who have had their identity stolen & don't mind the Nazi security. I appreciate security but c'mon. Call me and ask if I've made certain charges, but don't stop me at each turn in the store. Run, run quickly from this card company.
