Pros: Everyone takes it, great perks, US Airway flies to a lot of destinations Cons: Annual fee
What is typically the strangest type of ripoff you are exposed to? Is it when someone tries to take you for an idiot? Or, is it when they try to take you for your money? Either way, you are left wondering why you were so stupid once you discover the...
Deciding what credit card to apply for, depends on several factors ranging from the need for occasional online/phone purchases to the desire to earn rewards (cash back, miles, free goods, rebates etc.).
While everybody's eyes will light up when some...
Do you really want to take an airplane to a far away place? Well, I am always wanting to fly. I have found the best way to get some free tickets is to charge charge charge. I buy everything with a credit card and write a check when the bill comes in. I...
Pros: Can get lots of miles Cons: Huge annual fee, blackout dates, high interest rate, BofA runs it
When you are promised that the bonus mileage awarded for signing up is enough for a free flight, be cognizant that it's only certain routes on certain days. For most other routes/days, you will need twice as many miles (which means $25k in spending ...
Pros: None. It's just like any other card. Cons: Terrible customer service. Practically non-existent dispute resolution. 'Perks' are all hype.
This card is not worth the $90 annual fee. In fact, I would have canceled it even if it had no fee, that's how bad it is. The 'perks' that you are supposed to get with this card just don't amount to much. The "free" companion tickets are almost worthless ...
Pros: Better benefits than the BOA counterpart Cons: 2 months of missing miles.
I decided to start looking for credit cards to help cover airfare as my husband looks for work out of state. I had heard about this card through another website and decided to give it a shot. For some reason, Us Airways has credit cards with 2 banks. ...
Pros: Earn more miles, travel certificate Cons: Annual fee, Support
US AIRWAYS DIVIDEND MILES PLATINUM VISA
The US Airways Platinum Visa is a good card. It is serviced by Bank of America and carries an annual fee of $125. Unlike other airline card, this card has no limit on the number of miles you can earn. It...
Yes, it is true that you can get many miles with the USAirways Platinum Card. Be weary though, because the card holds a hefty $125 a year membership fee. In this day and age of free memberships and low interest rates, $125 seems to be a tad bit steep....
Pros: lots of miles, really helpful customer service Cons: fee, no website
I think this may be the best card I have ever had. I know it has a $125 a year fee, but it gives you 1.2 frequent flier miles for every dollar you spend, which makes it well worth it.
The customer service people are great. I needed to...
MAJOR HASSLE. MISLEADING OFFER. I was NOT IMPRESSED with this card. I was given the offer of $79 dollars a year to get a "free" round trip ticket anywhere in the 48 contiguous US states. I drilled the guy presenting me with the offer about ...
USAIR Dividend Miles Visa BUSINESS CARD by chrisstewart ,May 09 '05
Pros: Good company, very polite Cons: Yearly fee is $120
The card is worth it depending on how much you use it. We have ours through a business and the miles add up very fast. We can only have 200,000 though. That is what the cap is. We charge usually about 4-5,000 a month. So in a year that is enough for a ticket or two. Now there is 75,000 and am not planning on using them anytime soon. When I do though I hope it is easy.
The certificates for companion tickets come in the mail and (in my opinion) are deliberately disguised as junk mail in hopes that you will throw them away (which, of course, I did). If you throw them away, you are out of luck. The annual fee is pretty high. Also, there is no grace period at all on payments and they must RECEIVE your payment by the due date. (In my experience, most other cards consider a payment to be on time if post marked by the due date.) I always pay my credit card debt right away, but got nailed by this card several times for late fees and super-high finance charges. Finally, lots of flights on USAir are blacked out for use of dividend miles (although this is not the credit card's fault).
Do not get this card. You will end up paying a high annual fee and never receive your miles. If you try to call Bank of America, they will tell you it's not their responsibility to credit miles, and that you should call US Airways. When you call US Airways, they will sigh knowingly and charmingly and tell you the exact opposite. Then your Sisyphian hell truly begins.
Don't even bother trying to get some modicum of revenge by asking to have your annual membership refunded since you never received your bonus miles: "They can't do that."
