Citibank: Good Customer Service from a Credit Card Giant

by Bryan_Carey Bryan_Carey is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Personal Finance, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Sep 22 '05
Pros: Lots of services and incentives; Good customer service
Cons: No rewards on this card; High interest rate if one payment is late
Credit cards are issued by all the major banks in the United States and by the majority of smaller banks, too. This type of service is very profitable, so it’s no wonder that banks are so anxious to gain approval for the issuance of credit cards. One ...

Citibank to the Rescue When My Worst Credit Card Fear Came True

by GlendaG Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Apr 22 '01
Pros: Superb service, no surprises, no tricks
Cons: Not easy to get
Citibank came to the rescue before I even knew about what had happened. Actually, I've experienced two recent instances of impressive service from Citibank.

The first occurred when a Citibank rep called and asked if I'd just made a lot...

Citibank--What's Wrong With You???

by seracorde11 , Sep 10 '01
Pros: Simple To Get And Activate
Cons: Poor Billing System, Hard to stop fees once started
I have been a cardholder of Citibank for over ten years (under a previously married name). Although I had closed the account when I divorced, I asked to reopen it a few years later, and they had no problem with that request. I used it a few times and put...

Recently, I received a notice in the mail that my Citibank Dividend Select Mastercard was being upgraded to the New Dividend World Mastercard. The best features on the card now are: 1. Personal concierge service – 24/7 assistance with dinner ...

Pros: no annual fee, low interest rates

Sometimes, credit is a good thing...

by trustigious , Sep 01 '06
Pros: Fair APR's, no annual fees, low-rate balance transfer offers, rewards programs, friendly customer service.
Cons: Must abide by their repayment terms or they will raise rates and charge fees.
I have had an account with Citibank since 1996 and they have proven themselves as very fair-minded creditors. I would suggest that if you really don't need a credit card, then don't apply for one. However, if you do need one to build your credit or for ...

Citi Dividend Platinum Select Card - (still) making me money $$$$

by peachjam Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Nov 13 '05
Pros: Dividends are CASH. Customer Service has been very helpful. Full-service Website.
Cons: $300 annual limit on earnings. Delays in online bill paying are frustrating.
I only use dividend Credit Cards and as of 1/1/08 still Citi Bank's Dividend MasterCard earns me that money the fastest. With 5% earnings on all Gasoline, Grocery, and Drug Store purchases -- and 1% on all other purchases -- this card adds up the ...

Citibank is a credit card that grows with you.

by joli Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Feb 14 '00
Pros: good limit, interest, support, no fees.
Cons: No really lo rate offers.
I received an offer for a Citibank credit card while I was in college. I believe my initial credit limit was $1000 and an interest rate of 18 or 19%. I still have (and use) this card today and have always been extremely pleased with every aspect of it....

A Mediocre card...

by jma924 , Feb 18 '00
Pros: good customer service; widely accepted
Cons: somewhat high interest rates, no low-rate balance transfers; low credit lines.
In my short life, I have already had quite a bit of exposure to credit cards and have some distinct favorites and least-favorites already. Among those that I rate as "somewhere in-between," are those issued by Citibank. I have had both a...

Citibankcards.com is a hassle but maybe worth it

by dequebec , Apr 27 '01
Pros: reliable processing of payments, good consumer advocates
Cons: web site is a pain-many error messages and quite slow!
This review is mainly in reference to Citibankcards.com, the online method of paying your Citibank credit cards. This is a free service offered to Citibank cardholders-just cruise on to the web site, and set up a web account using your credit card...

Citibank - Plastic Peace

by WendyT , Sep 17 '00
Pros: Good customer support; reputable name
Cons: Would you believe spam?
My wallet has been home to a piece of plastic bearing the Citibank name since 1991. While I don't think this constitutes any sort of record, it does give me some sense of security knowing that I have a long standing relationship with a company of this...

This review is based on my experiences with the Citibank Platinum Mastercard Cash Reward card. I initially signed up for this credit card since I needed a MC/Visa card since many places don't take American Express. I've now had the card for over 3 ...

Pros: Amazing helpful customer service!! Able to get annual membership waived/reduced.
Cons: Telemarketers get your information.
The unthinkable happened. On Friday, September 1 someone stole my organizer out of my purse and with it got my driver license, medical cards and Citibank MasterCard. May they get an infection that causes their feet to rot and fall off.
