Pros: None that any other card doesn't offer Cons: Does more harm than good in resolving disputes
If you have this card I hope you never have a problem with a merchant. First they do not charge back the amount in dispute to the merchant, which means there is no incentive for the merchant to resolve the problem. Second if the problem is not resolved...

Pros: 9.9% fixed Cons: Hey, it's a CREDIT CARD!!!!!
I hate credit cards. They're the ultimate scam, especially for we "budgetarily challenged" people. But, no one made me get one. I got a 9.9% fixed First USA Visa. I try not to use it, and for the first time in my life, pay it off first, in...

Pros: None. Absolutely NONE. Cons: If their customer service reps don't like you, they hang up.
I am sooooo ticked off at First USA that I have threatened them with legal action, and even decided to start up a First USA web page so their abused customers could vent.
Can't tell you how happy I am to find epinion's page devoted to First...

Pros: Low initial interest rate. Cons: Unacceptable delays in processing payments.
I chose First USA because they offered an attractive teaser rate (3%), an attractive ongoing rate (10%), and no annual fees. It appeared to be an excellent "no-frills" credit card, which is what I was looking for.
I would make a payment to...

Pros: No Comments Cons: Bad Late Payment Policy
I was offered a First USA visa card over two years ago. I took it as a backup card, just for emergency purpose, in case of my other credit cards expired or lost.
However, in a span of less than one year after I used the card for subscribing a...

Pros: some cards have good rates, but watch out for increases without warning Cons: The WORST customer service of any company I have ever dealt with
I have more than my share of credit cards and a good number of them are from First USA. It's hard to avoid them, because they have bought other cards or merged with them. For example, Wingspan is now owned by First USA. Some of their cards have no...

Pros: none Cons: Confiscatory interest and penalty rates!
Well, they are in business to make money. Lots of money!
Don't you wish you could get 18 to 25 percent on your savings?
Don't you wish you could charge them $25.00 if your monthly statement
doesn't arrive on time for you to send in a...

Watch out making payments!
by ripe ,Nov 21 '03
Pros: high limits
unique card benefits Cons: deceptive
bad customer support
late statements
I *had* my card for quite a few years, and I used an online service to pay my bills every month. Anyways, my due date is the 27th of the month. One month I made 3 payments, one on the 14th, one on the 20th, and then one on the 7th of the next month. Well, the next month I just needed to make one small payment to bring my balance to zero, so I made a payment on the 5th of the month. Guess what? I got charged a late fee! Even though the time between payments was less than 28 days, First USA's policy is that any payment received after the due date but before the statement closing date (in my case the 7th of the month) gets applied to the previous month, so my early payment on the 5th got applied to the previous month's statement even though I had already made 2 other payments that month! So there are ~12 days after your due date that you can't make an early payment in... Capital One doesn't do this. I switched
