by opalbabe Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jul 20 '01
Pros: Many branches & ATM's.
Cons: Very low rates. Very high fees.
I am a former Summit Bank customer. Summit Bank recently merged with Fleet Bank. Along with the merger came alot of changes to our accounts. I am going to find this review VERY hard to decide whether or not to recommend Fleet. Since the new changes...

When Does the Fleet Sail?

by rfish Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Jan 13 '00
Pros: Lots of ATM's, Locations
Cons: Costs, Fees, Charges, Fines, etc....
I have had an account at Fleet since it was CBT, and through several iterations and the experience never gets any better. They have come up with charges for everything they do for you. It's amazing they can charge you so much for holding your money....

Customer service is an oxymoron

by magnatran , Sep 27 '00
Pros: Online banking is good and cheap ($4.50/month)
Cons: Fees, customer support, funds availability, ambiguous ATM slips
I was previously a (happy) BankBoston customer, and I finally felt secure with the bank I was doing business with. Then this past summer, my account was bought out by Fleet Bank.

Fleet comes in and, first thing, dumps most of their OWN...

An Insider's Scoop on Fleet and Banks in General

by Bruguru Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Sep 15 '00
Pros: Large number of branches, atms, excellent online banking
Cons: branches close early
I will preface this opinion by admitting that I worked for Fleet at their Lincoln, Rhode Island call center for about two and a half years. They were a very good company to work for, but by no means do they overpay their workers. This is dictated by the...

Fleet One Premier works for me!

by bernsa , Apr 23 '02
Pros: Great service and total package if you have large combined balances; large Northeast branch network
Cons: Wouldn't want to be a non-Premier customer because of fees fees and more fees
Not your typical bank review

I should start this review by indicating that I don't think I am the average customer based upon other reviews that have been written for Fleet and other banks. I save a lot since I have been lucky to have...

Improved bank and has re-earned my trust.

by cbshackle , May 12 '03
Pros: Lot's of locations and banking options.
Cons: Confusing banking options.
As a former Summit Bank customer, I was really concerned to hear that Fleet was going to merge with Summit. I had past dealings about 10 years ago when my company was a customer of Natwest Bank and when Fleet merged with them back then, it was a horror...

Best Banking on the Web

by pweisenberg Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Dec 07 '99
Pros: Free, convenient, easy
Cons: none
Fees Fees Fees, What fees, I’ve been using Fleets Web Backing for about 6 months now and have not incurred on related fee. Fleet’s Web backing service is absolutely free if you are a Fleet one customer and a minimal fee if you are not.

I...

Throwing the Moneylenders out of the Commonwealth

by MisterWip , May 19 '00
Pros: Soon I won't have to deal with them any longer
Cons: A steady drain on my savings and sanity
If you only read one of my epinions, this is the one. All potential customers should know about the scheming behemoth that is Fleet Bank.

Fleet, which has spread across New England and New York like the Ebola virus, offers the most...

READY SET CLOSE? More like "READY SET WAIT!"

by paulwade , Apr 16 '01
Pros: Absolutely none.
Cons: Extreme delays. Calls rarely returned. Staff untrained and generally unhelpful. Lost earnest money.
In late January 2001, I called Fleet Mortgage because I was interested in paying down our morgage approx $100,000 and refinancing at the same time. I was forwarded to a cheerful staff member who told me that for a $500 deposit, I could get the ball...

Fees and poor customer service, what more can you ask for?

by kat1234 , Feb 02 '00
Pros: They helped me out when I was getting started
Cons: It's been all downhill from there
I opened an account with Fleet several years ago when I was just getting my high tech start up off the ground. They were nice enough to give me a small unsecured line of credit which has helped my business out of more than one cash flow crunch..

Fleet Group...bend over and grap your ankles

by RHeinrich , Jan 09 '00
Pros: None...not one that you can't get better elsewhere
Cons: Everything, from non-existant Service Service to Outright Rudeness
I agree with MarcK regarding the "Fleet" Group. My experience was not with credit cards, but with SureTrade (also owned by Fleet Group). I wrote another opinion dedicated specifically to SureTrade. Reading Marc's experiences with their...

ATTENTION FLINK FLANK: Transitioning is not a word.

by lodigs , Jun 14 '00
Pros: um........um.........I'm sure there's something.....oh yeah, they have a LOT of ATMs
Cons: UGH! Can you pay my fees? Can you pay my stupid fees?
Please, somebody, stop this big bank merger stuff. I'm tired of losing my kind of ok bank to a bigger less ok bank. This time, you've really gone too far.

I am a BayBank customer, or at least I was a few years ago. I haven't changed anything...

I Wish I'd Brought a Camera!

by oparu1 , May 26 '01
Pros: ATM's all over the place
Cons: high fees for money orders, high minimum deposit for free checking
One day I had to get a bank draft for my rent. It was the only time in four months that I had to actually line up and wait for a teller. I stood in line with about ten other people and noticed that there were two out of three teller windows that were...

Pros: Lots of ATMs
Cons: Outrageous fees for everything and for nothing!
