Pros: Good customer service, no fees, free ATM withdrawls, free checking Cons: There are no "walk in" branches in South Carolina
I'm currently in the USAF. This makes banking difficult because I am constantly moving states. Before discovering USAA, everytime I moved, I'd close the old acct and open a new one in the local area. That gets to be a big pain, not to mention the fact...

A few years ago, we carried Geico autoinsurance thinking we had the best rates around. Some friends recommended we call and get a quote from USAA...we instantly found out by switching to USAA we would be saving approximately 150 dollars! We switched...

My father was in the service so I was able to get car insurance through USAA. After experiencing the incredible service that they have to offer I subsequently opened a savings account and then a Mutual Fund and then finally switched over all of my...

Pros: No fees interest-bearing checking account, good customer service, reimburse ATM fees Cons: Not the bank for you if you want a walk in branch
I have been using USAA Federal Savings Bank for my checking account for years now and have been very happy. I got so fed up with my local banks charging me for a checking account that I switched to USAA Federal. Imaging that...charging me to use my own...

Pros: National bank, great start up plan for college students Cons: Limited to legacies and those in the military

Pros: Cheap closing costs, competive rates, low pmi. Cons: Fannie Mae calls the lending shots. Not USAA.
I had my preapproval all set with USAA. I had a pending offer on a short sale that took almost 100 days to get approved. I would check weekly on the USAA website to see rates. I would input the state, city, and county. Along with loan data that showed a ...

Pros: Easy to purchase insurance products. Cons: Watch out when a claim is made. The wheels grind slowly.
If I didn't maintain my house I'd understand a nasty letter from USAA about a homeowner's claim. But after two claims within a two year period having to do with "Act of God" events, I was told that a third claim would spell doom and gloom.
