Pros: Free checking; Every service imaginable Cons: Takes a long time to get in and out; Won't process third party checks
I have had the opportunity to use many banks in my lifetime, both for business and personal purposes. Most of them have a few good things to offer, usually balanced by an equal number of bad qualities. My most recent banking adventure seems to fall along ...

Pros: bank was only 2 walking minutes away Cons: everything else
This epinion is about the friendly tellers at Washington Mutual in Capitola, corner 41st Ave/ Clare Street. I see that the average rating of Washington Mutual (WaMu) is 3.5 stars out of 5, recommended 74% of the time. Let me see if I can bring that down....

Pros: Under 500 yards from my house, had all the qualifications we needed from a bank Cons: JOAN the teller, a lying manager and an 11 day hold...is that enough?
Due to our recent move to Florida, my husband and I needed to open up new checking accounts with a new bank. We’ve been using Union Planters for years up in Tennessee, but once we moved, we realized there are no Union Planters in Central East Florida....

Pros: Convenient branch locations. Cons: Everything else! Definitely not for the average banking customer!
I’ve been a Washington Mutual customer for about four years. In the beginning all was wonderful in my world of banking. I enjoyed a bank where I wasn’t just an account number, where the tellers and manager were personable, where I incurred very few ...

Pros: My checkbook balanced out every time. Cons: They lost my money.
I'm out of bed again, to write once again!

Pros: Good for basic withdrawls and deposits Cons: Undertrained personnel waste time and energy
Washington Mutual took over for Home Savings in San Diego as it did in many other parts of the country. My experience with the front desk people at Home Savings was that they were friendly and well trained. They knew what they could do, and knew when to...

Pros: Many choices, starting with free checking, friendly employees, real voices on the phone Cons: None
I first opened an account at Great Western Bank in 1991. Great Western eventually became part of Washington Mutual. I was calling around out of the yellow pages, trying to find a bank that was close to me, and one that had certain little features that I...

Pros: benefits are improving over time Cons: still not cost effective in many cases
There are a number of benefits that Washington Mutual has that epinionites have been writing about. Free checking account, Plus package, and pc banking. I called my bank to see if all these wonderful things that people were posting were really true....

Pros: great service, friendly tellers, free checking Cons: none
When I was little my mother set me up a bank account. I had no control over this, as it never was really My money. It was in my name, deposits were made from small amounts of money given to me, but never did I have a say in where the money in this...

Pros: Customer Service Cons: Parking at my local branch
We all laugh at those cute little Washington Mutual advertisements. You know the ones -- where two men have named their baby's after their friendly teller from Washington Mutual, or the one where "Tom" (off hand I can't remember his name) left...

Pros: Several accounts with no discrepancies Cons: Sounds like it's not so good outside of Washington state
Twelve years ago I opened up my first "grown up" checking account at a Washington Mutual branch near the university I was about to begin attending. At the time, Washington Mutual was mostly a local bank. It had yet to become the object of nationwide ...

Pros: The interest rate beats my local bank Cons: Slow money transfers and mediocre customer service
I signed up with Washington Mutual online during the summer of 2007, around the same time I signed up for S
