Pros: Makes it easy to pay for items or receive money, no need for stamps! Cons: Spending and receiving limits, having to upgrade your account when going over receiving limit.
I'm an Ebay addict, I admit it. I have been hooked since I bought my computer and made one little transaction. I now buy and sell almost every day. When I began on Ebay, I had never heard of Paypal, but now it's become a lifeline for me.

Pros: Reliable, good email support, free service (personal) Cons: Heavily pushing for financial info that is not needed. Bad phone support. Unclear verification requirements.
I have never been a great dancer, but after signing up for Paypal's service and finally jumping through all of the hoops, I felt like I was part of a dance marathon.
I had a couple of items that I wanted to place on eBay. Since most sellers...

Pros: convenient for auctions Cons: fees and policies change regularly, website not reliable
I've been using PayPal for quite awhile now, and it was terrific in the beginning--a $10 signup bonus, and $10 for every referral you made. After awhile, the $10 referral promotion was changed to $5, but it was still good, mainly because it offered a...

Pros: Fast and reliable Cons: none yet
I think this is the best thing I have found in a long time. I joined PayPal 2 weeks ago, because i was selling some items and I noticed many others listed PayPal as a method of payment.
I had heard of it before as you got $10.00 in your account free...

Pros: It is fast when sending money Cons: It was never honest from the beginning
Greed is what made this service so popular--public greed, that is. Their popularity was never based upon the quality of their service.
My experience is with auction sales and purchases, so I'll speak from that perspective. They started out...

Pros: Easy way to send money. Cons: High pressure to give up your bank account info to them.
I've seen Paypal stuff plastered all over the internet but have not had much call to use it. I had partially signed up for it at one point but never used it. Then I sold something on Ebay and the buyer decided to pay via Paypal so I decided to give it...

Pros: secure way to send or receive money online to your bank account; reliable, trustworthy service Cons: money deposited to your account in a few days
I was initially attracted to trying the Pay Pal service for the $5 sign-up incentive that they offered. They have you sign-up in a secure section of their web site with your name, email, and snail-mail address. You also enter your bank and account...

Pros: Fast , free, and safe cash transfer Cons: Both parties must be PayPal members
I discovered PayPal through the on-line auctions. While I can only stand, awestruck, at the number of daily transactions completed by some, I do like to browse certain categories on a regular basis. I also sell some of my work through these venues....

Pros: Pay thru e-mail, FREE $5 when signing up! Cons: Can't use AMEX or DISCOVER
Sure, if you are an internet retailer who makes thousands of dollars a minute like Amazon.com, you probably couldn't run your business thru e-mail payments. But for those people that are running small businesses, PayPal.com is a wonderful service. A...

Pros: sending money is easy Cons: fraud protection program is a joke
I paid for an eBay purchase through PayPal, relying on its fraud protection program to protect me if needed. Little did I think I would need it, but I did. The seller (Vaji) sent me broken merchandise, then sent it back to me as a...

Pros: A good concept for facilitating on line transactions, in theory. Cons: Deal with PayPal, and you will feel victimized by a "con."
As of today, April 22, 2001, a search on eBay revealed that 30,477 eBay auctions specified "NO PAYPAL" as a payment option. That fact is a strong reflection of PayPal's popularity on eBay. 30,477 auctioneers went out of their way to specify in their...

Pros: Easy, Convenient way to send and receive credit card payments Cons: No customer service - quick to leave you hanging
Let me start by saying that I have used PayPal with no problems for close to two years now and have been pleased for the most part. Although the folks at PayPal have changed their rate structure and transactions began costing me more and more, I...

Pros: convenient when it works Cons: bad customer service, glitches
PayPal is driving me insane. Like many customers, I attempted to pay for an ebay auction via PayPal while the site was experiencing major internal computer problems (November 2000), and I'm still feeling the effects of some obvious SNAFUs.
My...

PayPal has improved their service since I wrote the previous opinion. They now allow users from several countries to add local bank accounts, so we don't need to open US accounts. Thankfully, I can now...

Pros: If it worked, that might be a pro... Cons: It doesn't work. Terrible customer service.
I admit I'd love to be writing an absolutely glowing review of this service, because that would mean I'd have had a positive experience, and my online auction transactions would be greatly simplified. Instead, here's the true story of the horrible...
