Pros: Cheap Cons: Quality
Maybe my opinion is biased because I am getting killed with my stock picks but...I do not care for Ameritrade. I like the low cost on trades ($8), but if you want to purchase an OTC, you must do it with a broker on the phone and that will cost you a lot...

Pros: Fast Trading and Cost efficient Cons: Complicated Balance Page
We have been dealing with Ameritrade for over a year now. We are extremely happy with them. They are prompt in buying and selling stocks. The online service is great, no problems! The cost of 8.00 a trade,is a lot better than going through a broker....

Pros: cheap and dependable Cons: not for the PROFESSIONAL traders
I believe this company used to be called Ceres Securities (or they were bought out by Ameritrade). I have no complaints at all about Ameritrade. They get their job done on time and for a great price. No delays, no playing around with delayed...

Pros: No waiting on hold when you call in, people are very nice, fees are reasonable. Cons: Their technology is way behind the power curve. They are known for having tech issues.
Ameritrade are not bad people, at least as far as I can tell. But if you are into day trading which requires their Streamer which is a Java Applet based system, forget it. The Streamer is junk. I have an ultra high speed Comcast Internet connection, two ...

Pros: none, nada, zip Cons: Slow! Unreliable! Poor executions many times.
Ok your looking to become an on-line trading guru and notice all the Ameritrade commercials....without really researching online brokers and figure they all are the same. STOP! Items that are very important to trading are execution speed and good ...

Pros: supposedly cheap, but only supposedly Cons: skyhigh, exorbitant "sundry" fees
I opened an account with Ameritrade in January. First, they were extremely inefficient sending me the correct logon details to my address in Europe. Indeed, I never received their opening letter and my "pin" until I complained. I finally got a pin but...

Pros: They have a simplified, quick-trade procedure for buying/selling at the market. Cons: They seem to have a scam going.
Ameritrade seems to be working a very lucrative (for them) misrepresentation. It revolves around the fact that you must open TWO different accounts with them: the usual BROKERAGE account, plus a separate MONEY-MANAGEMENT account. It's a bit difficult...

Pros: If you push 0 a bunch of times you go directly to an operator. Cons: They excel at the runaround.
I have been trying to move my SEP IRA from Ameritrade to a different brokerage since March. It is now the end of July. They have told me 4 times that the money was ready to transfer and they were on it. Each time I called back, they said "oops, you ...

Pros: so simple, now has OTCBB trading(more details inside) Cons: it would be nice to have free trades = )
I have been an Ameritrade member for about a year now and I have been pleased for the duration of this time period. First of all, you can open an account with a minimum 1,000 dollars, so the information provided by Epinions is wrong(unless they stopped...

Pros: None Cons: Lousy customer service
I was a customer for more than 7 years, when Ameritrade was called Datek. The service online was fine, the stocks bought within a timely manner but once I needed customer service, it was appalling. I had to go to the local office to turn in a stock ...

Pros: none Cons: fees: account maintenance and other
I opened an account with Ameritrade almost 3 years ago by purchasing shares in two tech stocks. In retrospect, I couldn't have picked a worse time or worse stocks. However, I had no illusions of being a "high roller" by purchasing or trading additional...

Pros: Great online research area. Low prices. Easy to use website, with lots of useful information. Cons: really none that I can think of!
Ameritrade is a great online brokerage firm that enables be to trade stocks at a pretty cheap price. I am happy by the fact that each trade is only $8. Because of this amazingly low price I, as a "small time" investor am able to maximize my...

Pros: Site is generally easy to use Cons: $$$ Costs
Ameritrade has 'inactivity' charges that really add up.
If your like me, and invest when you have some extra cash (a fairly rare event), you might want to avoid Ameritrade - their inactivity fees will eat you alive!
If I was a more...
