I learnt about ameritrade from a friend of mine, initially he was trading via phone but then he learnt about internet trading & he recommended same to me. I found it so easy & effecient, you just need to know your account number & ID and...

Pros: Reliable, fast and economical Cons: Slow confirmations sometimes.
I've been with Ameritrade for 3 years now. I've never had any problem executing trades in a timely manner. Sometimes, however, the confirmations can be slow. Even then, when the confirmation does come in, it can be seen that the trade was executed...

Pros: cheap, reliable trading after order is confirmed Cons: poor research, website too frequently offline
Ameritrade offers little more than basic trading services at good rates. For amateur to intermediate investors like myself any more is unnecesary. However, if you need an investment service that provides quality research, look elsewhere.

Pros: fast, easy to use Cons: should have a more personalized portfolio for stock gains and losses over time.
My husband and I started using this company in 1996, and have had no problems with it.
The biggest benefits include: quick transaction on line, and the price is not bad, although they probably don't sell or buy stocks at an exact market value, and...

Pros: easy, fun, respectful Cons: research- so so
alright here is the low down on these guys, i didn't really have a ton of dough to invest, so it was nice that they had a pretty low account min., and there is no min. of how many shares you have to trade. what was really cool is that they were easy to...

Pros: A great web site that offers good service on the phone too Cons: Web site is slow during peak traffic time
Ameritrade has been our familys broker for alittle under a year and i can honestly say that we have no problems with the services that they have provided us. The $7.95 that the charge for trades is highly competitive with most brokers especially...

Pros: ease of use, excellent customer service, low commissions, solid company Cons: no IPO access, limited research, very few "extras"
If you're looking to make a small impression felt on the stock market, Ameritrade represents a solid online brokerage offering. Better yet, if you're looking to park your IRA on an easy-to-use, low cost site with excellent customer service, Ameritrade...

Pros: price Cons: slow execution, limited real time quotes
$8.00 per trade is what Ameritrade advertises. Guess what? This price is for a market order, and nobody uses market orders anymore; especially in these crazy days of stock trading. So, limit orders are now $13.00, which for the quality of this company,...

Pros: reasonably good Web experience, fair commissions Cons: spammity spam, wonderful spam
I am reasonably happy with Ameritrade's fee structure, Web site, and overall Web site experience. However, there is one thing that is very disturbing. I own my own domain, and set up an e-mail account that I divulged to NO ONE except for Ameritrade. I ...

Pros: Fast execution, 45 Free Days of Trading, Free Level IIs, Command Center Cons: Command Center sometimes freezes on Macs
TD Ameritrade has been great for me, so far. I signed up for Ameritrade Apex under the 45 Days of Free Trading and was very happy to find a promotion like that. The minimum balance was $10,000, which is a little high, but you must have that to get the ...

Pros: decent website. Helpful knowledge base and research tools with various stock tracking charts available. Cons: High startup cost. Too many unknown fees. non-userfriendly navigation. Slow customer service.
Ok first off, I don't consider myself an "expert trader" , not even a "novice trader"- i started an Ameritrade account when the market was in its prime a few years ago and of course it crashed soon thereafter but not until i'd already sunk my money into ...

Pros: Customer service, price, web site. Cons: Trading price could be cheaper.
I have been a member of Ameritrade for 2 years now and have been completely satisfied. Let me tell you my story. Before leaving for Iraq I wanted to open an account so I could invest my paychecks, since now I had nothing to spend them on, this seemed ...

Pros: Low commissions for real time trades Cons: A simple website with less services
To start out I want to say that Ameritrade has been very satisfying from the standpoint of making money. They offer currently $10.99 for both real time market and limit orders and 25 free trades. Unlike some brokerages you pay a rate of $10.99 per...

Pros: 8 dollar price of trades. Fast loading. Cons: None
I tried E-trade and TD Waterhouse. E-trade was WAY more expensive and had problems connecting on busy days. E-trade advertises 12 dollar trades...I guess I didn't read the fine print. Once I had my account set up I found that Nasdaq trades - (all the...

Pros: see review Cons: see review
This review is merely to shed light on a flaw in the Ameritrade software for any current Ameritrade users (and can be helpful for any prospective Ameritrade clients). This is *not* an in-depth analysis of Ameritrade-- go ahead and check out some of the...
