Pros: Easy to use site, fast trades, good customer service. Cons: Can't place an order for regular plus extended hours.
I've been with Ameritrade seemingly forever, well since it was Ceres anyway. Overall, I've had few serious problems.
I also use Datek, and have file a review on them previously.
The good part: Their site works, at least for me. Navigation...

Pros: e-mails alerts, low cost per trade Cons: outdated software, not user-friendly
Have you ever felt you were getting a really good bargain and then realized you get what you pay for? That is the way I feel about Ameritrade.
I chose Ameritrade because I had a few thousand sitting in the bank not earning much. I wanted to...

Pros: Easy access, reasonable price Cons: Charts could be larger
I have never gone through a broker for any investment, and Ameritrade was the next logical progression in making quick independent purchases of stocks.
The web site is secure and user-friendly, and adequate support is given to account...

Pros: $8 trades, low initial investment Cons: research, no IPO's (yet)
I selected Ameritrade simply on their commission rate of $8 per trade ($13 for limit order), AND to take advantage of their special offer of a $500 initial investment, instead of the regular $2,000 initial investment, and my first 5 trades...

Pros: Good commissions, especially for options, pay-as-u-go level 2 and other toys Cons: Site a bit complex for beginners. No online bond trading.
Previously I had an account at etrade and did not appreciate the $19.95 commissions, more expensive options commissions, and low interest on credit balances. Ameritrade clearly has lower fees.
In comparing the two brokerages, I would say...

Pros: Cheap Trades, Great Research Cons: Slow to Open Account
AmeriTrade is a great place to start investing online. I chose AmeriTrade because it has cheap trades, and many of my friends trade with them. For joining, I was given 25 free trades, which I have used to buy and sell intraday.
I like...

Pros: Cheap....really cheap... Cons: Beauty is only in the eye of the beholder...
I signed up with Ameritrade when they were offering no commission trades and a $500 minimum to open account. I did it under the pretense that even though they were a no-frills site, they would have to upgrade constantly in order to keep up with e-trade,...

Pros: Fast orders, free quotes. Cons: N/A
I checked around at a lot of other places before deciding on Ameritrade. But I'm very glad that I chose Ameritrade.
Their prices are very reasonable. It's only eight dollars a trade, or thirteen dollars for orders. (telling them you want...

Pros: cheap commission, fast execution of trades, great customer service Cons: no streaming real-time quotes?, difficult to get an up-to-the-minute portfolio value
The three most important things that I want from an online broker are: cheap commissions, fast execution of trades, and quality customer service that won't leave me on hold forever. I've shopped around, and I think Ameritrade provides the best mix of all...

Pros: None Cons: incompetent, rude, miserable service.
Well bottom line is I had such a bad experience just trying to set up an account with Ameritrade that I canceled the whole process and went to Schwab. I tried to wire transfer money from my checking account into my new Ameritrade account. First, they...

Pros: Cheap trades and
excellent customer service and quick emails Cons: Their research is pathetic!
All and all, Ameritrade is the best online broker that I have found. I believe that if you are going to trade without a broker, then do it cheap. I know that there are cheaper services than Ameritrade, but I do not believe that they will give you the...

Pros: Cheap, Easy. Cons: Slow! Not a good place to research or learn.
Ameritrade, Where do I start?
When Ameritrade sent me an E-mail about online investing,I was squeamish. Not only am I frugal with money, I don't always have alot of it (as im sure is the problem with quite a few of us). The initial deposit...

Pros: 24x7 support, low prices, fast executions Cons: overnight updates, open orders decrement margin balance but the balances listed on the account don't indicate that
I selected Ameritrade a few months ago because of their no-nonsense approach, rock bottom trade and option prices, and excellent customer service (I'd e-mailed a question or two, got prompt and complete responses).
When moving stocks (DTC)...

Pros: Easy to use and understand. Cons: none
I decided to take the plunge as a single mom, and wanted to try some on-line trading. I have to admit that I didn't know a lot about it, but, being able to access Ameritrade and the ease of use of their system and the fact that the e-mail you the...

Pros: Trades are Cheap and Reporting is great Cons: Execution not good for Day Traders
I selected Ameritrade because the market orders are only $8 a trade. Sure, Limit and Stop orders are $5 more, but that's still pretty cheap.
The trade execution isn't right away. Most of my trades have happened before I was able to go back...
