Pros: Great quicken support, low fees, very good customer service
Cons: Very small fee-free ATM network, difficult web site to navigate

Summary: DirectBanking.com is the online subsidiary of Salem Five, a Boston-based bank. I am very happy with the service I have received from Salem Five. In this review I will talk about what I was looking for in a bank, other options I looked into, their web ... read more

Pros: um...it's probably not the worst bank around.
Cons: Inadequate customer service, website interface; they don't refund ATM surcharges like many other internet banks.

Summary: I am surprised that this bank has good reviews. I've been with them for about 4 years now (I think) but ONLY because it's been too much of a hassle to switch. I've actually put in my application to change banks a few months ago but that application got ... read more

    Pros: Great rates, service, access

Pros: Free Quicken access, good rates
Cons: Deposits must be mailed in

Summary: I switched to Directbanking.com after my old bank was taken over by Fleet. The monthly minimums kept going up along with the fees while the interest Fleet paid was pitiful (.5 percent on checking). Now I am getting 4.5 percent on my free checking account ... read more

    Pros: None
    Cons: Unwise policy

Summary: I tried to open a new checking account with this bank but they refused to give me the account for the simple fact that I declared my self in bankruptcy a couple of years ago. Not a good policy, specially if you are a new bank trying to obtain clients. I ... read more

Pros: Free bill pay using Quicken, great customer service
Cons: Quicken transaction server can be slow at times

Summary: I've been with Salem 5 for almost 3 years, with both checking and savings. I use Quicken for EVERYTHING, so I needed an internet bank that would match that with no fees. * I direct deposit my paycheck, and mail other deposits * in Massachuset
