Everbank is just a hassle
by liberal3637 ,Jan 30 '09
Pros: Initial Money Market rates Cons: HAving an account there is a constant hassle to try to do anything with it.
Every time you want to deposit or withdraw money electronically it takes days. My credit union and real bank and broker all take about 1 day maybe 2 tops. For electronic transfers this is ridiculous. I live in a war zone with no access to FAX machines and so could not easily buy products I wanted because you must fax them a letter with an application for each product. To buy a CD from my credit union I send an e-mail through the credit union secure mail and so of course they know who I am etc. I also do not have to fill out a credit ap every time I buy a CD but you do at Everbank. THese guys have figured out how to take the convenience of the net and make it slow and inconvenient.
I did find customer service to be professional though. Dumb way of doing business.

Bad service, dangerous mistakes
by ichibaniban ,Jun 03 '09
Pros: Can hold foreign currency in a money market account Cons: Poor service, lack of identity security, unprofessional staff
I opened my account in late May 2009. Here you go - 1. Notification of my deposit, with deposit amount, name and account number were mailed in an unsealed envelope. They forgot to seal it.2. The first world currency transaction must be made over the phone. They advised it would take 2 business days to settle. I had to remind them on the end of the third that it didn't3. The second world currency transaction made on line did not post in the pending transactions page. 24 hours later I notified them by email at which time the y acknowledged my transaction.4. Customer service didn't know what time zone the (St. Louis) world market desk was located in, the phone hours, and the girl sounded half illiterate.5. I now debate closing the account.

Everbank has terrible customer service
by gesiting ,Oct 24 '07
Pros: Monthly charges aren't high Cons: Terrible service; they don't just not help you, they actively cause you trouble.
I have been banking with Everbank for many years and have experienced consistently terrible customer service. By terrible I mean both rude and ineffectual. Finally wising up now and transferring to another bank when they barred my checkcard and sent out a new one to an old address without telling me. I have changed my address with them multiple times to no avail. They will randomly bar your card if you, for example, travel, and then tell you it is for your own protection! I have been without a card for weeks now. Truly dreadful.

Worrying incompetence
by anonymous217 ,Aug 06 '08
Pros: Website is informative Cons: Awful customer service, and incompetence. Web application is incomplete.
I recently tried to set up a couple of foreign currency CD's and sent in the paperwork required, which I sent certified mail. Some of the paperwork they said "wasn't in the envelope." I know I sent the information, and I won't resend it. I warn anyone against banking at EverBank. If your personal history is "lost", it's a terrible feeling.

Very slow and Misleading
by sogi33 ,Feb 16 '09
Pros: Good Rate Cons: Super slow, non responsive, misleading on impounds, shaddy on how they lock your rate.
Got my mortgage through them. Good rate, but very difficult to deal with. Very slow, and they do not give you all the information even when you ask. They screwed up on funding my home twice, funded with the wrong amount and the escrow company hated dealing with them. In the end they closed my house, sold my mortgage to citibank in one month, took my prepaid principal and put it in a suspense account, and I am still trying to recover it.
