Pros: Good interests rates, simple web interface, good customer support Cons: Once you accept that internet banks have their drawbacks, FirstIB is the best bank around
Summary: I have deleted this review after Epinions deactivated my account AND cancelled all my earnings. Granted, my earnings were a non-whopping $7.49 and I probably would have never redeemed them anyway. But I am deeply disturbed by their practice. I haven't ... read more

Pros: Competative Mortgage Rates Cons: If they can't close the deal, the rate doesn't matter. Incompetent. Amateur.
Summary: We have used First Internet Bank of Indiana for our online bank for several years. The service has been fine, but we didn't ask for much. We decided to use them for a new mortgage. Initially the service was professional and knowledgeable. But then ... read more

Pros: They were marginal 7 years ago. Cons: Poor Customer Service!A hassle to deal with. And FEES, FEES, FEES!

Pros: Generally competent online bank. Good lines of credit, ATM rebates, etc. Cons: Unavoidable $25 fees = daylight robbery. Do you want to deposit any checks?
Summary: FirstIB will charge you a $25 penalty fee if you deposit someone else's check into your account and it bounces, and there's nothing you can do about it (except to not deposit checks). It's called a "Return Deposit Item" or "Deposit Item Return" (DIR) ... read more

Summary: Two things to start out with: -First, internet-only banking isn't what it used to be -Second, internet-only banking is definitely not for everyone. Those being said, FirstIB is still my favorite online bank. I joined FirstIB in the end of 2000. ... read more

Pros: Easy web interface AND Great customer service! Cons: (see review body)

Pros: ATM fee refunds, Great customer service, good rates! Won't go under, makes money! Cons: Slow ATM deposits, not good for those that deposit cash.
Summary: I'm writing this to defend this bank from those complaining about the minimum $500 balance to avoid fees. If you don't have enough financial ability to have $500 lying around I don't want your opinion on a bank! FIB is great, stop being annoyed by this ... read more
