Pros: Everything LOOKS good Cons: I've been unable to get an account open
Summary: This epinion turned out to be more personal revelation than bank review and I considered not posting it for this reason. However, I have decided to let it stand so that others can be aware of the possible pitfalls in their path to opening an account ... read more

Pros: Competitive dividends and fees. Small staff provides friendly customer service. Cons: Slow, painful start-up process. Horrible web page.
Summary: **UPDATE: G&L Bank has officially gone out of business as of March 2002.**
As the first niche bank specifically for gay and lesbians, G&L Bank is not a bad first try. However, it's not spectacular either.

Pros: Great for a simple savings account Cons: Not great for a primary checking account
Summary: It is quite difficult to find a bank account for someone under 18 due to all the legal haranguings. My local bank, Dollar Bank in Pittsburgh, did give me an account at 14 but I obviously never could come up with the $1000 or so to earn a 2.5% interest ... read more
