Pros: NetBank does what they do reasonable well and in a reasonably timely manner Cons: They don't do much more than the bare bones. Features that bring real convenience to online banking are lacking
I originally opened my NetBank Interest Checking account because support for my first online account (with X.com) was sluggish and they had been pokey in sending a PIN for my shiny new VISA ATM card (actually, I've seen maple sap ooze faster). NetBank...

Pros: Great interest rates, smooth banking, easy application Cons: ATM fees, must mail deposits
I recently had a lucrative freelance contract that left me with a large chunk of cash I knew I should put away somewhere. I was leery of the stock market, so I though I'd go with a money market account. However, I was definitely disappointed to be told...

Pros: hmmmmmmm Cons: slow, can't get back in, no correspondence from them
Okay, Okay, so I got happy when I found X.com after reading an excellent review and tried to sign up for Netbank.
Well guys, be very leary. I have some issues with this service/site.
First of all, during the sign-up process, be...

Pros: Free Interest Checking Cons: Lousy customer service; deposits by mail; poor Quicken integration; slow website; overbilled fees
Netbank seemed like a great deal at first. Free checking, free checks, interest, online bill pay - why not? I'm an internet developer, so it seemed natural.
It was fine for a while. The website was kind of slow. They promised improvements,...

Pros: High interest rates, easy online bill pay Cons: No branches, ATMs
I switched to NetBank from one of the big, national, brick-and-mortar banks for two main reasons: the interest rates NetBank offers and free online bill pay.
I have not been disappointed. I am getting about 3% on my checking account and 5.5%...

Pros: Rate of return, free checks, no written register for me anymore Cons: Occasional inconvenience and site malfunction, mail-in deposits take longer
Internet banks have one clear advantage over brick-and-mortar institutions.
RETURN ON INVESTMENT. Less overhead means better interest rates.
I get much better rates from NetBank than I could find anywhere else. Since I do not keep...

Pros: Easy, high rates, account consolidation, low minimums, NO FEES for the diligent, bill pay Cons: Still cannot buy CDs on-line, not really real-time, slow mail deposits
Make sure you can answer the question before stepping into the world of on-line banking. It may not save you any money or time. Rather than write a detailed review about each aspect of Netbank I'll write something so you can see what kind of people...

Pros: high interest rates Cons: problems with account setup and very slow telephone support
Two weeks ago I started to search for information about online banks. After gathering opinions on epinions and with the advice of a friend I decided to open an account at NetBank.
I went to their web page (www.netbank.com) and started to fill...

Pros: Free Bill Pay, Ease of use, Interest Checking, Coordinated Checking and Money Market Accounts Cons: When fees change do not expect to be notified on your statement; Interest rates dropping!
After having read some of the epinions on NetBank, I felt like I should share some of my experiences and perspective. I signed up for NetBank over two years ago. I was lured by a 3.00 percent free interest checking account and a 5.83 percent money market...

Pros: Good interest rate Cons: Can't tell exactly when money is available
I have long been disappointed with the interest rate that I was getting in my savings account in a "traditional" bank. Then I read an article about NetBank. I logged onto their website, and looked through all of their options. I also looked...

Pros: Great interest rates for cd's and money market, always see your balance, no fees Cons: No branches, must rely on snail mail when sending funds to them
Many of us are new to internet banking and wonder why anyone would use a bank that does not have physical branches. I can provide with a few reasons, but would not recommend using an internet bank at this point.
First, I would point out that...

Pros: Free bill payment, Quicken, ATM. High interest checking. Financially stable. Good customer service Cons: Slow account setup. 3rd party checks not accepted for deposit.
I switched to Netbank in May 2001, when they bought Compubank's accounts. My experience at Compubank was mixed, so I was a bit worried at the switch. However, my experience at Netbank has been much better than that at Compubank.
I started...

Pros: Decent rates Cons: Poor service, no ATM rebates, and unacceptable site design
I was a HUGE fan of Compubank. It was the internet bank that had its stuff together: fast customer service, great user interface, great rates.
Then NetBank bought Compubank. And it's been down hill from there. Here are a number of reasons...

Pros: High Interest, access account anywhere Cons: Slow money transactions if you don't have Direct Deposit
I started with Netbank in early September; I was in the process of moving then, and just really disliked the hassle of transferring funds. So, with Netbank, I could have one bank and keep it no matter where I went.
That's not where all the...
