Pros: In the past we had experienced low rates and good service with Erie.
Cons: Erie may start you on a low rate but inexplicably raise it later.

We have had Erie insurance for about 11 years on our car and our part of that on our home. This past year my wife and I lost our income for much of the year but kept our insurance policies paid. We have no accidents, no claims, no tickets, and drive a minivan, but Erie did not reward us with improved rates, instead they hit us with even higher rates because our credit rating suffered last year (that is correct - our credit rating). When we gave Erie an opportunity to keep us as customers Erie's representative was rude to us in justifying the new, higher rates and basically bid us good riddance. Just a cautionary note to the reader to be careful about using past, reviews to judge the "new" company. it seems to be undergoing some sort of company changes. This is evidently just one example of some of Erie's new "hidden" features. Just some feedback from Former 11-year customers; Good luck.

I have been with Erie Insurance for over 10 years. I bought a house five years ago and added on homeowner's insurance to my auto insurance.

We had to file a hail damage claim this past year. Erie came through and exceeded our expectations. Erie did not nickel-and-dime us and allowed us to choose who we wanted to replace our roof and siding.

One small issue was our claims adjuster was not local - we live in Columbus, Ohio and he is in Cincinnati, Ohio (over 2 hours away). But this adjuster was very helpful and he helped expedite getting us a check.

I love Erie Insurance and would recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable insurance company.
