Great Company
by herismyopinion ,Jan 24 '06
Pros: Great EXPERIENCE. Cons: None
I switched from Allstate to Geico.
With all state I had a 6 month premium on $15000/30000 policy of $692.00
With Geico, I increased the coverage to $100,000.00/300,000.00 and my premium dropped almost $300 fro the 6 months period to $394.00

WATCH OUT!
by madonna_742 ,Nov 28 '05
Pros: Quick replies to questions, even if it's not the right answers. Cons: They look for any excuse to increase your premium after you've bought it.
Recently bought insurance for my two kids, ages 25 & 19. After answering 1001 questions online, got a great quote and paid total premium. Few days later, got notice of premium increase because 1) They didn't have enough credit history, even though the entire premium was paid up front; 2) my 25 year old was involved in an accident in which she was not at fault (she got hit head on by a drunk driver). Wrote several e-mails questioning the unfairness of the increase and their pre-worded standard replies danced around the issues. They never budged from their policy and finally told me how I could get a refund. Beware of this company. Ask lots of questions before you take their word on the premium they initially quote.

GEICO - great insurance for reasonable rates
by sophiesdad - Top 1000,Nov 25 '05
Pros: Good service, great price, superb claim handling Cons: Phone menu is annoyingly long - it needs MUCH fewer choices.
We've been with GEICO for over 20 years now for our auto insurance and couldn't be more pleased. Many times we were tempted to go elsewhere for a better price, but agent after agent told us that they couldn't beat GEICO's prices.
On the one or two occasions that we needed to submit a claim, the process was absolutely painless. The processing and resolution of the claims were quick, efficient and courteous.

Pleased So Far
by jjustus ,Oct 05 '05
Pros: Great customer service, fair rates, and easy to obtain on-line quotes. Cons: None so far!
I very recently signed an insurance policy with Geico (which I obtained on-line) and I have been very pleased with what I have seen so far. Their customer service has been quick and accurate to respond to all of my inquiries, and I received what I believe to be a fair rate from them. Though I have yet to file a claim, I would recommend them based on what I have seen thus far.

GEICO: The Best, Period
by tom11220 ,Jan 15 '05
Pros: Lowest prices, good customer service, high ethics. Cons: Nothing
I have been a GEICO Direct Auto and Umbrella customer since January 1998. They came highly recommended, and their price was the best, so the decision was an easy one.
In January 2004, I had an accident in Brooklyn NY. A police car ( in hot pursuit ) ran a red light, and I hit it, knocking it into two other vehicles. I did not hear the siren, and the NYPD did not hassle me in any way, but still--this was not a good night.
I thought there GEICO would give me a hard time on my renewal. They did pay Property Damage loss to the two vehicles that the police car was knocked into.
Imagine my surprise when renewal time came around, and they not only did not cancel me, but they renewed at the same price, no hassle of any kind.
I hope to stay with GEICO for a long time. They are an ethical company with great service. In New York City, their rates are the best as well. They are the absolute best.

Always there for us
by pepik2000 ,Jun 27 '04
Pros: Great online and phone service. Always there when we need them. Cons: Can't think of any.
I've been with Geico for about 15 years and have always had excellent response when I needed them.
I was in an accident a few years ago and the person who hit me had Allstate. Allstate did not respond quickly to either towing my car to a shop or getting me a rental car, but when I called Geico to help me out I had a tow truck and rental car in less than an hour.
I would recommend Geico to everyone and their rates have always been great for us.

GEICO is the cheapest auto insurer for good drivers.
by gaetanlion ,Feb 20 '04
Pros: Very low auto insurance rates. Cons: May not be so cheap if you have a less than good driving record.
I have used GEICO for auto insurance for nearly twenty years. Every so often I go on websites to get instant quotes just to check if GEICO is still the most competitive. It invariably is. But, this may depend on how you use insurance, how you drive, and what is your age and area.
In any case, I am middle aged, have a good driving record, and we drive our car very little (about 6,000 miles a year). Also, I take out the highest deductible possible ($1,000). I also live in a suburb, which results in much cheaper rates than if you live in a large city. Given these circumstances, we pay $400 a year for car insurance with descent liability coverage.
Remember one thing about insurance, only pay for the risk you can't afford; don't pay for the risk you can afford. The first $1,000 in repairs is a risk most of us should take on. Otherwise, you are going to pay through the nose to pass on that risk to the insurer.

GEICO is a fraud
by mike1234567 ,Jan 25 '04
Pros: absolutely nothing Cons: Everything about them. They stink! DO NOT GO WITH GEICO, you will regret it!
I had GEICO insurance for little over a year. I had a minor fender bender which required my car to be repaired. GEICO refused to repair my car if it was not taken to one of its guaranteed repair shops. Well thats when all the problems began. The shop used inferior non OEM parts, did a horrible paint job, and hid " extra " charges. When I complained to GEICO, my coverage was threatened, as well as treated like a criminal. I finally got them to just look at my car. When that happened, GEICO sent 4 reps out to gang up on me. I was threatened, intimidated, and told too...., well I won't use that language.
GEICO is the worst company I have ever dealt with, they are liars, they cheat there customers, and don't deserve to be in business.

The worst company I have ever dealt with
by mimewear ,Nov 06 '03
Pros: Cheap... you can afford an attorney later on. Cons: Slow. Difficult to deal with. Terrible settlement offers. I could go on... just stay away.
Stay away from this company at all cost. I have never had such a difficult time such as this anywhere before. Simply put, it took three longs months of negotiations before I was even close to a settlement. Whenever I would leave a message I was lucky to ever receive a return call. I sent registered letters, etc. and they still denied ever receiving them. It was only after I had to hire an attorney and file complaints with my state insurance dept. that anything began to move.
I obviously purchased this insurance because of the price... now I know what I wasn't paying for. Just trust me and don't put yourself through this. Go with a company that assigns you an agent.
