Pros: Highly rated company financially; Good experience with reps Cons: They don't correspond with policy holders very much
Home owner’s insurance is a must for any home owner. Even if your property is located in a region not prone to natural or man- made disasters, it still pays to have the peace of mind that a home owner’s policy provides. I have used a few different ...
As some of you know, my wife and I woke up 2 weeks ago to find a scene from the Titanic playing itself out in our basement! Stuff floating everywhere, water shooting everywhere, electrocution hazards everywhere (I found out later-after sloshing through...
Before I get too far into this review, I want to mention that I have never filed a homeowners claim, so I am focusing on everything but claims experiences. Perhaps someone who has filed a claim will read this review and will be inspired to write about...
Pros: good price, excellent service Cons: 10%discount for having auto and homeowners makes it difficult to shop for cheap auto insurance.
Two years ago we moved into our home in Mobile, AL. This is our third home and once again, it was time to shop for homeowner's insurance. I got quotes from several of the big name carriers, and decided to check with Traveler's primarily because we had...
Pros: I can find no redeeming factors in the Travelers Ins. Company Cons: Travelers wants your business (money), beware if you file a claim.
I have Travelers Home owner insurance through Geico. It's over 8 months since I had a house fire ( January 2009) and to this day (9/30/09)Travelers still hasn't finished settling my claim. Travelers are so cold and unfeeling, I've been through a real ...
Pros: Cheap rates...at first Cons: Very unreasonable
Does not value low risk customers
I recently purchased a house and decided to go with Travelers for my homeowners insurance since my auto was insured by them. My house is a 3-year-old transitional. It has a modern layout, including a 2-story foyer and family room with a vaulted ...
Pros: Quick to pay on claims Cons: Restrictive on play equipment
Over the years since we bought this house in 1992, we have had several insurance companies. For the last few years and up to 1 Jan of this year, our insurance company has been Travelers. I'll be honest. The insurance company that we had prior to ...
Pros: Never filed a claim, but those I know who did report good, easy experiences. Cons: Phone/internet QUOTE versus actual charge seems to CONSISTENTLY be two different things.
I'm a Geico customer, have my home, auto and motorcycle policies with them. Only Geico Homeowners is actually done by Travelers, like it or not. When I decided to switch my Homeowners from Allstate to Geico/Travelers, just for the convenience of having ...

THREE MONTHS and NO RESPONSE by lynnstar ,Nov 10 '06
Pros: Prices are better than come competitors Cons: No response from representative or supervisor.
Travelers does not care about its customers.
Our home was struck by lightening over three months ago. We promptly contacted Travelers to file a claim. After first trying to convince us that the problem may not have been lightening (despite the afternoon thunderstorms and the eyewitness account of our neighbor) Travelers agreed to send us the paperwork to file a claim. Since submitting our information, we have contacted our representative each week for feedback. We have also left messages for the supervisor, yet we are still awaiting any useful feedback. Please learn from our mistake and find a company that cares about their customers. If we have learned anything over the past three months it is that Travelers has zero customer loyalty despite receiving our checks on time and paid in full each month.
Home/Auto: Don't make to many claims or get dropped by ihcsupt ,Dec 12 '05
Pros: Good price if you have a good credit rating. Paid claims promptly to glass company. Cons: Will cancel your coverage based on total claims not total $$$$ of claims.
I have had Travelers since early 2002. My independent insurance agent was able to get us a very good rate for home and auto insurance. I have had to make no claims against the home insurance, but living in Montana chips in auto glass are quite common. I just recently was canceled by Travelers insurance because my wife and I have made 5 claims in 4 years to have chips fixed. This is a great benefit from this company but apparently the fact that they had to pay us a total of $275 in claims (considering we have paid them approx. $8600 in auto insurance) must have been overwhelming because they are canceling our insurance at the end of its term this month. What a deal.
Terrible and completely unresponsive by truebluenyc ,Aug 09 '09
Pros: They are good at cashing your checks. Cons: Unresponsive, gives you the run around.
I had homeowner's insurance with Traveler's. I had a small kitchen fire recently and had to file a claim. The agent came out promptly to inspect the damage and verbally promised to cover all damages. A dozen phone calls and e-mail messages and a month later, they still have not confirmed anything. My agent does not return my phone calls or e-mails. I will be canceling my insurance policy with Traveler's and I highly discourage anyone from doing business with this company. A quick Google search for feedback on Traveler's Insurance confirmed that majority of their customers give them negative feedback and do not intend to renew their policy.
