Cons: LOWSY service and even worse atitudes.
I am very unhappy with USAA. On March 29 my dishwasher broke and leaked, ruinned my kitchen floor, master bath floor, small bath floor and basement ceiling. I filed the claim with USAA that night online. I called a clean up contractor the next day. It ...

DON'T GO WITH USAA - POOR SERVICE!!!

by nunavyman , May 28 '08
Pros: Customer service when you don't have a claim. Value for the money?
Cons: Contracts out their adjusters and you never talk to the same person twice.
We've been with USAA for almost 20 years and have had great service until now. We recently had several trees fall on our Maryland house and USAA took more than a week to come out and survey the damage (The adjuster wanted two weeks to come out, but I ...

USAA auto insurance agents do not investigate claims unless forced by lawyers

by jeannetteh , Jun 01 '07
Pros: They finally did their job when forced to by a lawyer.
Cons: To get them to do their job it took a lawyer.
My husband and I are both active duty Marines. While in DC to run a marathon, our rental vehicle was hit while parked in a hotel valet loading zone(we did not park it--the hotel valet did; we were waiting to enter the vehicle), and neither of us were in ...

At ease Soldier, Sailor, or Airman. USAA is on the job

by caithnessfan Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Mar 09 '06
Pros: Competitive rates, One stop banking & insurance
Cons: No local branch offices, claims must be called in
When they first began doing business in 1922, USAA was open only to Officers and their spouses and children. Years later, USAA had an eye opening break through idea. In this they realized two IMPORTANT things. 1.There are a LOT more enlisted ...

Rates great until you have to use it

by ezdoesit7 , Feb 21 '06
Pros: can't think of a single one
Cons: don't return phone calls, manipulate your vulnerabilities, terrible service with attitude and back talk.
I actually had to file a fire loss on my homeowners' policy, whereas most of you just like your rates. They have so many hidden rules/policies/procedures and they act like you should know them all. Like your house burns down every year or something. ...

Pros: the best prices you can find for just starting out in the military
Cons: none so far
I've had USAA for almost 2 years now. They are by FAR the best insurance I have ever had. My parents are retired military and when my husband joined the army they told me about this GREAT company that could save us hundreds. I didn't think they were ...

House and Car covered by USAA

by kennethan , Jun 28 '04
Pros: Very good insurance company. I have my house and my cars through this company.
Cons: Someone in family must be associated with the military.
My father was in the military during college and he had USAA insurance for as long as I can remember. I was able to join and get an insurance policy because I was a dependent. I have insured my car through USAA and now that I am closing on a house in a ...

Women Clients Treated Badly - Don't Get Me Started!

by jh1221 , Dec 23 '03
Pros: None Even if you were an officer, as a woman, you're dogmeat to USAA!
Cons: Rips off women! Double standards rule! An organization of men, by men, for men.
OK, I got started! Stand by for heavy rolls! After years of faithful payments, I was treated shabbily by USAA. They not only tried to gouge me, like some fly-by-night outfit, they even flat-out lied to me! I have NO use for liars or any outfit ...

Pros: 800#, no agents
Cons: after 7yrs and no claims - they double my premiums to show their appreciation
loyalty is a one way street w/ these folks. after 7 yrs w/ no claims my premium went from $356 to $693 this year. when I called they provided no reason and basically told me to take it or leave it. well, I choose to leave it. I went to Armed Forces...

This used to be a special company, but they have lost it!!!

by afguy , Jun 07 '03
Pros: A lot of options in one business
Cons: Their service has deteriorated so much, I wonder if this is still USAA?
When I started with USAA in the early 80s they were the best of the best. But lately they have concentrated only on getting bigger, with no emphasis on staying better. What a shame to see how far this company has fallen in their shameless pursuit of...

USAA Home Insurance - No worries. They have me covered.

by CyndiA Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Oct 15 '02
Pros: Inexpensive. Solid coverage. Great service.
Cons: Check the home page to see if you qualify.
When I bought a house, I decided to go with USAA home insurance. The service is rated high, and I’ve had USAA car insurance for 24 years. Best of all, USAA has some of the lowest prices for the coverage offered.

USAA financial...

Buy any insurance but USAA!!!

by misterm , Nov 23 '01
Pros: Cheap rates
Cons: Will not pay legitimate claims
USAA failed to pay 2 claims in the 16 years we have had them. The first one was for sump pump damage. USAA claimed we needed flood insurance for coverage. Since then our state requires insurers to cover this damage.
Also we had 2 major hail...
