  • Bangai-o ga Sugoi desu ne!!!! (Bangai-o is awesome!)

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Apr 26, 2001
Pros: Great gameplay, lots of levels/replay value
    Cons: plain graphics, sounds

Summary: Bangai-o was originally released in Japan for the N64. Now, Dreamcast owners in America can experience one of the best shooters to come around in years. Capcom's recent line of shooters were either too short, too hard, or generally unappealing. ... read more

    Oct 3, 2013
Pros: Fun and frantic shooter, fun eccentric style, plenty of action with massive explosions
Cons: Terrible translation from Japanese to English, very tiny little sprites, some minor slowdown

Summary: Bangai-O a shoot-em-up by Treasure is one of those strange kind of eccentric Japanese games you will at times come across. Essentially it is an all out shooter while you blow away hordes of enemies with lasers or homing missiles but done a colourful and ... read more

    Pros: Tons of levels.
    Cons: Horrible gameplay.

Summary: I really hate to be the opposite side, but after rave reviews on every website, I had to speak up. In the great succession of great 2D shooters, such as; R-Type, Sidearms and Blazing Lasers, Bangai-O tries to resurrect a dead genre, but fails ... read more

    Jul 8, 2001
Pros: Great, easy to learn gameplay; extremely catchy music and funny storyline. Characters are good too!
Cons: Graphics are so-so; voicing can get annoying. Super Hard, especially later levels. NO 2-PLAYER?!?!

Summary: Bangai-O, a game based on an n64 japanese release, involves two kids out to get a gang with their giant mech (what game doesn't have some kind of mech these days?!) , Bangai-O. The game is huge for an arcade type game, 44 action packed and sometimes ... read more

    May 25, 2001
Pros: Intense 2D shooter; easy to learn
Cons: Dreamcast controller isn't ideal for this game.

Summary: Bangio-O! is an awesome 2D game in which you blast everything in site as you explore enemy-infested levels. The game plays like classic shooting-games such as robotron and smash TV. The difference here is that it's a side-view-perspective, the levels are ... read more

Summary: "Is there no civet fruit?" "What? You'd like them? But they stink! Anyway there aren't any!" "Is there no civet fruit, then I don't want to go on!" "I don't know whether there are any. Go and buy some somewhere else." Ladies and ... read more

  • Stupid-Mad fun!

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Apr 20, 2001
Pros: Hardcore gameplay! Very Japanese humor.
Cons: it's an ugly ugly port. No two player mode.

Summary: Once one more game for the hardcore only joins the dreamcast crew, coming from none other than Treasure, a company known in the industry as the best old-skool 2-d action developer ever to make a game about collecting fruit. No really, Treasure is known ... read more
