Pros: Beautiful graphics and sound, lots of extra modes and goodies to unlock Cons: A couple of battle system flaws, voices not translated
When the Sega Dreamcast first came out, I was skeptical. I really didn't see what it could do for me that my PC or N64 couldn't. (Keep in mind that this was two years ago. I was young and foolish then.) I didn't really see what the Dreamcast could...
Pros: The BEST Their Ever Was Cons: Absolutely none
Let me put it down like this, SOUL CALIBER is the absolute pinnacle of fighting genre. As Mario and Sonic is to platformers is what Soul Caliber is to the fighting genre. Dare I say this is the best fighting game EVER MADE! (OK OK, I know I got to give...
Pros: Looks great, plays great, easy to learn, lots of depth... and big axes. Cons: Ring outs, no weapon damage
Overall: 10 Gameplay: 10 Graphics: 10 Sound: 9 Concept: 9 Replay Value: 10 There are not enough superlatives to describe Soul Calibur and there are not enough awesome things to compare it to to do justice with metaphor. Rarely does a game ...
Pros: Great graphics, tons of game modes, good replay value Cons: Only 2 players
Soul Calibur is the best fighting game on Dreamcast and maybe even the best that out of all fighting games ever created. This was one of the most anticipated games along with Sonic Adventure when the Dreamcast first came out back in 1999.
Pros: Complex fighting system, tons of moves, tons of hidden secrets, 3D interaction, amazing graphics. Cons: Corny storyline, bad music and sound effects, annoying voice announcer, cheap ring outs, continuing series.
Way back when the Dreamcast was in its prime, legions of fans stood proudly behind Sega. The Dreamcast had an incredible launch lineup, and Soul Calibur was one of the many reasons that the Dreamcast was very successful.
Pros: Some of the best graphics on Dreamcast Cons: Terrible gameplay, much too slow-paced for my tastes
Oh how I deeply despise the 3D fighting game. In a just world, these tepid, monotonous and boring song and dance shows would sell about as much as anything coming from Infogrames should. Simply comparing the sheer playability and adrenaline rush a...
Pros: Awesome graphics, many moves, game play. Cons: Repetitive.
Soul Calibur, the showcase title of the Dreamcast Game System. Many call it the best fighting game ever made and rightly so because this game is absolutely amazing. This game is nearly flawless, with a total of 19 characters (including the hidden ones),...
Pros: Unparalleled visuals; Silky-smooth gameplay; Thousands of combos; Excellent characters. Cons: Sometimes (close up), it looks like the characters aren't holding their weapons.
Once, many moons ago, I wrote a poorly thought-out, uncomplimentary opinion of this truly remarkable game, Soul Calibur. I wrote that it looked pretty, but that it was too easy, and that the gameplay was simply hitting buttons.
Pros: Stunning graphics, complex movelists Cons: Same old gameplay, no real advancements over Soul Blade
When the Dreamcast first came out in 1999, one of the most talked about games in the initial lineup was Namco’s Soul Calibur. The highlights were arcade perfect gameplay, the usual home console extras, and graphics that would blow everything else...
Pros: Gorgeous graphics, responsive controls, deep gameplay, tons of extras. Cons: No internet head-to-head mode.
Soul Calibur is the sequel to the Playstation game Soul Edge (or Soul Blade, in the US). Soul Edge was fairly novel, being the first weapons-based 1-on-1 fighting game that I ever played. The Playstation version boasted the best graphical effects on...
Pros: I don't know where to begin Cons: no CG intro or ending sequences
From the get go you have access to some very diverse modes of combat. For starters, you got the original arcade mode. Then you got the Dreamcast exclusive modes like Vs. Battle Mode, Team Battle, Time Attack, Survival, Mission Battle Mode, Practice ...
Pros: Great graphics, great fighter game, only time I can whoop my husband's butt legally. Cons: This Space Left Intentionally Blank
This is the best fighting game that I've played. Graphically speaking it surpasses all other fighting games. In my opinion anyway! The ease of use is a real plus as well . This is a lot better than other games I've rented as well . It made a smooth...
Soul Calibur is quite possibly the best fighting game ever. I became a fan of this game when I was in Ga. and had to play this game nearly everyday because it was so addictive. At the time I always used Taki but now I hardly even use her as I have...
Pros: Good, fluid fighting Cons: Bad localization.
After successfully taking charge of the console 3D fighting market with Tekken 1 and 2, the guys over at Namco decided to try something a little different. About 2 years ago, they released a slick 3D fighting game called Soul Blade. (or Soul Edge,...
