Pros: Amazing graphics, good sound Cons: Pathetic control, NO manual fielding
Ever since the Sega Dreamcast was released in the US in September of 1999, the genre sorely lacking any competition was sports. With EA Sports dedicated to the PlayStation 2, it was left between Sega, and well, no one. Of course, EA wasn’t needed with...

Pros: Derek Jeter looks like himself. So does every other player Cons: Think of something smart. Paste it here and give me the credit
It should be noted that Sega Sports has possibly the biggest, best known baseball dynasty in video games. With Tommy Lasorda and World Series Baseball and added support from EA Sports' Triple Play series, the Genesis was the system to have if you wanted ...

Pros: Great visuals, create a player, Cheap Cons: hitting, player animations, lack of modes
Normally, I dislike sports games. In that respect, if I do play one, it has to be an excellent one and force me to keep playing. Very few have done that: Segasports’ NFL and NBA series have done that. So with a pretty good track record with me...

Pros: Nice looking graphics Cons: Rotten control; where's my fielding?
When I was in college, I watched my mighty, mighty Arkansas Razorbacks play in the College World Series. I met my parents after the game for lunch and asked my dad if he'd watched the game.
"No, son," he said. "I don't watch much college...

Pros: graphics Cons: everything else
Sega’s answer to one of the most popular sports around, good old American baseball, and to top it all of it’s made by the developers responsible for the other games of the 2k series. So is this the baseball fans dream game? Well in a word, no.

Pros: Looks nice. Cons: More gameplay design flaws than you could shake an industrial strength shaking stick at.
I notice that I'm coming up with a lot more titles creatively describing bad things than I am good. I'd have to say that it's not coincidence that that phenomenon has increased since I started reviewing more Dreamcast games.
The Sega Sports...

Pros: Decent graphics Cons: Terrible gameplay, bad sound, boring announcer
As long as I can remember, there has always been a severe lack of high-quality baseball video games. Sure, back in the age of Nintendo there was the Bases Loaded series, which was okay for its time, and the Hardball series for PC is also decent, but...

Pros: Excellent graphics; nice customization options Cons: Excruciatingly poor play control; one-man commentary is below-average at best
After reaching new heights with sports titles such as NFL2K and NBA2K, the Dreamcast takes one giant step backwards with World Series Baseball 2K1. This title had some very high expectations with some exceptionally high-quality graphics and with Sega's...

Pros: Graphics Cons: Features
To start things off I will tell you a little about World Series Baseball 2K1 (WSB2K1). World Series baseball is made by Sega Sports. It was the first of the "2K1" games to come out (others: NBA 2K1, NFL 2K1) and with all due respect to WSB you can...

Pros: Best graphics to ever be seen on a baseball game. Cons: Just about everything else-Controls, Commentary, Menus...Where da Derby!?
Ok First of all this game is not as bad as I will crack it up to be. I got this game about a month after it came out last year. It has a little appeal, and I find myself playing just because it's the only baseball game on the Dreamcast.
Many...

Pros: Great Graphics & Up-to-date stats Cons: Worse Controls ever for a baseball game
Hype can always be overkill. This game was heavily hyped among sports fans to be THE baseball game of the summer. That it'd build on legacy that NFL 2K & NBA 2K created with it being a fantastic sport game. I was hyped also as I've been spending all...

Pros: Great Graphics, accurate player portryals (El Duque's leg kick, Jeter's batting stance) Cons: Gameplay, Features(NO PRACTICE OR FRANCHISE MODE)
Game: World Series 2K1
Publisher: Sega of America
I recently purchased a Dreamcast and every game I have played so far has been enjoyable. I have been especially pleased with the sports games. But World Series 2k1, which I am now sorry...

Pros: Might be able to trade it in Cons: It was released
I can't even begin to express how much I wanted this game. Baseball on the Dreamcast? What could be better. After all, NFL 2K and NHL 2K came through. One could safely assume this would be THE baseball game. Oh, how wrong I was.
Nothing...

Pros: Great fun and graphics Cons: hard controls
Hi,
I have been a fan of World Series Baseball games since The Genesis days and through Sega Saturn. I have been satisfied with all of them, each one better than the last.Although there were some aspects of the game which could...

Pros: Looks good... especially when someone else is playing. Cons: Is barely playable, much less enjoyable.
I generally write about things that I really like, since I think it's easier to write a good review if you're really into whatever you're writing about. Unfortunately, that is not at all the case with World Series Baseball 2K1. I am writing this review...
