If Only The Legacy Continued

by marty1982 , May 21 '06
Pros: Holds up well after more than eight years, beautiful graphics, fun/catchy music.
Cons: Very challenging and unforgiving, may be too realistic for some.
Intro 1080 Snowboarding was possibly the coolest (both literally and figuratively speaking) game on the market when it was released back in early 1998. Whereas most first party Nintendo games at the time featured cute, cuddly characters ...

Stalefish to a Nose Grab 720*

by Rock_On Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Jun 27 '01
Pros: Realistic, first snowboarding game, nice graphics, excellent replay value.
Cons: some graphics are kind of blocky, the usual boredom factor for some people will occur
While all the other screw up snowboarding games that are on the N64; Twisted Edge Snowboarding, Snowboard Kids, and Snowboard Kids 2, 1080 shines brighter than all of them combined. Although Snow Kids is more geared towards a...

The Snow Is So Cold You Will Have Numb Thumbs!

by kinganamort , Nov 04 '00
Pros: outstanding graphics, very challenging
Cons: maybe too challenging
I purchased this game on the advice of my cousin a couple of weeks ago. I had not heard of it before, but it was on sale for a really great price at Toys R Us so I bought it anyhow. This is probably one of the best sports simulations games I have...

The Cold is a Killer

by saturn_169 , Aug 07 '01
Pros: Great Graphics and Nice sound Effects.
Cons: Gets Boring after a while....
This is game really entertaining....for the first 20 minutes. Like most games this one loses its spark after a while. But part of the reason I say this is because I am not a big fan of snow boarding.

*THE OBJECT OF THE GAME*

1080......that's 360 x 3.

by alex_kidd , Jul 08 '01
Pros: Alternate paths.
Cons: The 1080 move may give you thumb cramps. More courses. 2 player mode.
Games like the " Cool Boarders " series on Playstation started out the snow boarding trend, Nintendo just came along and perfected it with " 1080 Snowboarding ".

1080 would have to be the first top quality title of the snow boarding genre,...

An excellent game with a few exceptions.

by quackykrackrz , Dec 03 '99
Pros: Very realistic. You can snowboard down almost anything. You are not confined to a single path.
Cons: Frame rate suffers ocassionaly. A few "invisible walls". You can not combine tricks with the trick system.
Thes scores are from 1 - 10 (highest)

OVERALL SCORE - 8.3
Excellent graphics. The controls suffer a bit in response time, still it's very playable. However this is the most realistic snowboarding game I've ever played. If you have the...

Pros: everything about it
Cons: only six courses
WHY I'M WRITING THIS:
This game is awesome! If you are a fellow snowboarder, you should buy it.

WHY I BOUGHT 1080:
Winter was over and I hadn't quite had my fill of snowboarding. I went to Toys R Us to check out the game, saw it was...

Pros: unlimited playing time
Cons: not so good controls
1080 is by far the best snowboarding game for any system ever made. It offers good graphics and satisfactory controling. It's a bit difficult at first but once you get the hang of it you'll love it. 1080 has extremly large courses and you will...

Fun for a while but gets boring

by alan523 , May 14 '00
Pros: The practice and graphics
Cons: The lack of more courses and snowboarders.
When I first bought this game I thought it was the greatest game ever made. Then a month later I hardly ever played it. After doing the same tricks over and over there's no challenge. It took me for ever to do the 1080. Now I can do it in my sleep....

One cool game!

by Pricyber , Feb 12 '00
Pros: Graphics, and gameplay
Cons: Retains the same elements as Wave Race 64. Nothing too original.
The Wave Race 64 team is at it again, and this time its on the snow slopes. Miyamoto took the genious design team possibly made the best N64 racer, and exchanged the Kawasaki Jet-Ski’s for Lamar Snow boards.

No, literally, that’s what they...

Pros: good game ideas, good graphics, smooth game play
Cons: none that I can think of
