  • Innovative original game that is a fun blast to play

    Oct 1, 2013 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Completely unique, challenging, plenty of extra and secret bonus items
Cons: Blurry textures and can be repetitive at times, no real plot to speak about

Summary: Blast Corps was the second game released for the N64 and it is one of the more unique titles in the N64 library. Blast Corps is an interesting one of a kind type of game that had no relation to any former game made by Rare, or for that matter anyone ... read more

  • Blast Corps

    Aug 12, 2012 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Blowing stuff up, some of the puzzle elements are cool
Cons: Very confusing at times, graphics are cheap looking

Summary: Blast Corps is a pretty cool game, though admittedly I never felt the need to get really far in it. It's made by Rare, and while possibly the worst Rare N64 game, it's still fun and playable. I mean they made Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Banjo Kazooie, ... read more

  • Couldn't put it down!

    Feb 12, 2004 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
    Pros: Replay value, graphics, sound
Cons: Odd holes in the plot, but otherwise good

Summary: Upon reading the reviews of the game in Nintendo Power Magazine, the game Blast Corps looked like an interesting concept. You destroy buildings to clear a path for a runaway nuclear carrier (which looks more like a firetruck to me). I rented the game ... read more

  • I want to like it, but...

    Apr 6, 2002 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: It's a fun, easy, fantastic puzzle/action mix.
Cons: It's more fiddly than a wall full of dials.

Summary: Blast Corps is an action/puzzle game where the aim is simple: Save the world from a runaway missile. You have to blow up every single thing in the missile's path and make a clear route to the other side of the level. It's hard trying to ... read more

    Pros: good graphics
    Cons: little replay value

Summary: Rare is a company the produces a lot of great games. However, Blast Corps for the Nintendo 64 is not one of them. For a better representation of what Rare can do, check out Goldeneye: 007 for the N64. Anyways, back to the subject on hand...Blast Corps ... read more

Pros: graphics, levels, easy to learn
Cons: bad sounds, gets boring after a day or so

Summary: I bought this game because I had some money, and it was on sale at this store for only $10. It looked like it would be really fun because there's a crane machine on the front and I thought it would be filled with destructive things like bombs and what ... read more

  • It cant get any more original than this!

    Oct 31, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Very innovative. Great graphics and sound. Many places to destroy. A guilty pleasure.
Cons: The game ends a little early, but the final challenge could keep you coming back. No rumble pak support (but the rumble pak didn't come out until a month after this game was released).

Summary: You may have heard of this game or not. This game never recieved any recognition by the way of advertising, but almost every video game critic loved it. I couldn't see why a game like this, being so original and fun, never made it big. Blast ... read more

  • :( Baffled+Boredom= Abandonment

    Sep 14, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Graphics are smooth
Cons: BAFFLING: If you are baffled it is a matter of time before you get BORED!

Summary: In Nintendo's first generation game, Blast Corp., tremendous brain power is required. This is not your typical Twisted Metal or shoot 'em up game! Only the most skillful game player should get their hands on this! For the general players, leave this ... read more

  • In 2000, this game is worth the bargain bin $15!

    Jul 26, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Fun and cheap, decent graphics for 1997, a good time killer
Cons: A bit mindless at times, music sucks sometimes, the learning curve for a lot of the vehicles is a little steep but STICK WITH IT! It's worth it.

Summary: Ok, this game isn't revolutionary. It isn't a breakthrough in technological prowess. But when you're ticked off, bashing stuff can be cool. Of course there is a bit more to it than that. Certain boards do require strategy. Some require ALOT of ... read more

  • What the hell?

    Pros: Awesome Graphics/Gameplay
    Cons: It Ends

Summary: I sold my N64 a long time ago, but Blast Corps was one of the best games I ever played on it. I just had to come and defend the game because I noticed that there is so much negativity towards it. God, the graphics in Blast Corps are ... read more

  • Blast Corps is Not That Great

    Jul 11, 2000 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: You get to destroy stuff.
    Cons: It's really boring.

Summary: I thought that the idea of wrecking and destroying stuff would be fun. It was, for a little while. It got boring very quickly. The purpose of the game is to destroy buildings. You are trying to clear a path for a nuclear truck that will ... read more

  • Blast Corps Looks Fun And All But Confusing!

    Jul 11, 2000 by

Pros: Great Theme And All Destroying Stuff :-)
Cons: The Game Controls Are Hard To Get Used To

Summary: I first saw the game Blast Corps on TV... The commercial looked cool so i decided to go to BlockBuster to rent the game before i bought it. I played it for awhile but never really got a hang of it. I liked the game, and the graphics but the controls were ... read more

  • Entertaining yet annoying

    Jul 6, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Original, can give adrenaline rushes
Cons: no 2 player mode, difficulty is insane

Summary: When I got this game, the day it came out, I was somewhat disappointed. I was hoping that the buildings exploding would look cool, but that is not the case. Don't get me wrong, the explosions still look good, and the graphics are above average. However, ... read more

  • Bad Control, Good Idea

    Jun 30, 2000 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
    Pros: The Idea
Cons: horrible control, no customization, no help, no multiplayer

Summary: RareWare set up a fine game, but apparently then did not know how to use the new N64's controls. It controls like a dead monkey, but the idea is great. There aren't any "thinker" games out there today, except for the occasional tetris sequel. ... read more

  • Child's Play or Earth Shattering?

    Jun 17, 2000 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: You can drive a dump truck
    Cons: too many to list

Summary: This game is strictly childs play. It is a good game for a kid if you have some restriction on violence. It is use full for learning how to use the joystick and buttons and your kids might like it if their a car kid. The game has minium violence where ... read more

  • A nice change of pace

Pros: Different type of game, many varieties of game styles, huge replay value
Cons: The announcer can get very irritating, large learning curve

Summary: Ever so often in a crowded market of first person shooters, RPG's and racing games, there is a game that stands out as being different. Sometimes different means bad, but not in the case of Blast Corps. Rare has shown with this game that there is still ... read more

    Jun 10, 2000 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: ok ok you get to blow things up that is pretty cool.
Cons: The whole game! Is one big con!

Summary: Blast Corps is one of the sorriest games I have ever played! Not only is the control extremely bad, but the whole plot really sucks! Ok get this, a truck carrying two nuclear bombs is on a straight path and you have to blow everything up in its path! ... read more

  • You'll start wanting to blow the game itself up

    Jun 5, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Fun blowing up stuff, many vehicles
Cons: Bad controls, bad plot, bad sound, lasts only a couple days.

Summary: This game looked really cool when I first got it. Don't be fooled. The first couple of levels are fun and addictive, but the game itself is too short, and you can't beat it because of three levels at the end that are impossible for anything but Deep Blue ... read more
