Pros: Fun to play, Some education value Cons: It is a little complicated
UPDATED 2/28/2000
I am not a big fan of real time games. I like strategy games, but I prefer turn base games, like Empire, or Heroes II or III.
I got this game for my 12 year old son. (Actually he paid for it with his allowance, I...

Pros: Utterly wonderful game with all the best qualities. Addictive, intriguing, and endlessly playable. The game is equally fun and good value in single player and multi-player modes. Cons: The AI is a tough opponent from moderate level up... but what better way to sharpen your skills!
It is little wonder this title has often been awarded Strategy Game of the Year by respected gaming community publications. I have never played a more complete game, ever.
It seems a lot of people agree, there are over 270 opinions on this...

Pros: Units move gracefully, pretty good unit balance and gameplay. Cons: Games can take awhile to finish.
Don't just march, march in style!
I must admit one of the most impressive things I found about this game is how the units move. If you select some swordsmen and archers and tell them to go to a location, they don't just blandly walk over, they...

Pros: Great replay value, fun, challenging. Cons: Sometimes I experience errors while loading the cinne sceens in the beginning of the game.
I recently bought Age of Empires II, and I'm glad I did! This game is great. It has good graphics, various options that assure you'll never play the same game twice, five different difficulty settings, thirteen different civilizations to pick from, and...

Pros: GREAT GAME Cons: little long... BUT A GREAT GAME
I recently purchased age of empires 2 : age of kings, with a slightly hesistant feeling. I played age of empires 1, and generally disliked it due to it's slow rate of play and overwhelming inclination to let rushers win. However, with the town bell in...

Pros: Good game good graphics Cons: Nothing
I think this is one of the better games I have played on computer that has to deal with strategy. AOE2 is a good sequal to an already great game, it is fun, exciting, different everytime you play it. If i were to recommend a game for strategy play this...

Pros: great graphics, good story lines in the begining learning campaigns Cons: highly addictive
I liked Age of Empires, but I love Age of Empires II. Easy to follow. Even more impressive than the solid gameplay are some of the logical play mechanics. I must commend Ensemble for making such a rich and versatile product. There's a lot new in AOK, and...

Pros: Great overall game Cons: Takes some time to get used to it.
I thought the first Age of Empires was great, but then I played Age of Empires II. This game comes with even better graphics, and is loaded with options. There are many new features and new units. Now you have even more control over your armies. The...

Pros: Good Graphics, Good sound, Good controls, Good overall! Cons: Possibly too challenging.
I recently bought Age Of Empires II after knowing how much I liked playing the original Age Of Empires, and I am glad I did. It is better than AOE1 in every way, and since that was a good game, this game is excellent.
You can play as 13...

Pros: Good for internet play Cons: Not much in-depth strategy
Age of Empires II was my first experience with a real-time strategy game. The benefits of real-time strategy are obvious, mainly that you can play against your friends without waiting forever for them to do their turn. However, I was slightly...

Pros: Extremely fun for the first week. Cons: Do you want to drop that kind of money for 1 week?
The first week that Age of Empires II (AOE2) was released I blindly went to CompUSA and bought it ($54, and no resale value b/c of Microsofts lovely copyright system...). For some reason i was itching for a new strategy game, and AOE2 seemed the best...

Pros: Graphics, AI, Sound, FUN Cons: Very addictive that I sleep really late at night
Microsoft and Ensemble studios designed and developed Age of Empires II, sequel from the original award winning Age of Empires. Age of Empires II added great enhancements from the previous version. The graphics and sound effects are mesmerizing. ...

Pros: real time strategy, more troop control Cons: campaign editor is difficult to use
In the way of the ever so popular Real Time Strategy games comes "The Age of Empires II, The Age of Kings." Another take on the WarCraft (an old blizzard game) and on Command and Conquer (an older WestWood Studios game). The point of Age of...

Pros: Graphics, strategy and detail, over 50 or more military units. Control even one soldier by itself without moving a whole lot of others, Good civilization choices, nice campaigns Cons: The creators of the game could of made more campaigns and could of made it simpler to create super custom campaigns, such as sound, etc.
Talk about strategy, this game is one of the best strategy games I have ever played. For a strategy game, Age of Kings has much detail, and unlike most strategy games, the illustrations and graphics are great. Instead of having little fuzzy units which...

Pros: Beautiful graphics, way more options than Age of Empires Cons: Slight slowdown if a lot of units are on the screen
I played Age of Empires (AOE) close to two years ago, and I was astounded by how fun a game it was. The gameplay wasn't very complex, and the graphics...
