"Tropico" Want To Run Your Own Tropical Island? Never Thought About It Either Till Now.

by Pandemonium Pandemonium is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Games, , Jun 05 '02
Pros: Length of game, well thought out, and variety.
Cons: Game pace.
Another good ol' fashion sim game. This particular game however has a different story to it. This game was not produced by a particular company. It was designed by one individual (Phil Steinmeyer) on his own time at his home. Once he had the game almost ...

by drdevience Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Mar 12 '03
Pros: Everything!
Cons: full zoom looks a bit pixelated (that the right word?)
Tropico is evil. I just wanted to state that for the record right off the bat here. I'm tellin' ya now, if you load this game on your computer, you may as well kiss your life goodbye! It's that addicting!

Tropico is an island...

Confessions of a Dictator

by davidjwest , Aug 14 '01
Pros: Enjoyable watching your country grow
Cons: Not quite enough depth
"El Presidente, the people grow restless!", my advisor exclaimed bursting into my plush stateroom.

It was true, after a decade of my rule over the island paradise of Tropico, the lack of public amenities was making my rule unpopular. Tough...

Viva el presidente!

by ruhruh1979 , Jul 27 '01
Pros: Original, great music and graphics, and loads of fun
Cons: Very few
Tropico is unique game that just was somewhat a sleeper in stores. It's been out for a while, but with the newer platform games such as Black and White, and several others, it's easy to miss or pass up on the shelf. But run back, and pick up a copy,...

I am the Dictator MAC Daddy!

by jericho , Nov 30 '01
Pros: Simple and funny, think of it as the SimTown for the Evil Overlord set.
Cons: Wants to be an advanced sim, but isn't. Almost too difficult in spots.
Funny, this is the MACINTOSH version of this game we're reviewing here, yet of the three reviewers so far, I seem to be the only one playing on a Mac. Go fig!

Anyway, the Mac version of Tropico is worth the bucks. It is a simple simulation of...
