Pros: Easy to maneuver, easy for children to play Cons: Some of the gecko's saying include cursing.
There should be ratings included on games, don't you think? Especially when you are considering buying a game for your young children. Gex was bought for and turned out to be a favorite by my middle child. (Six years old at the time of purchase.)...

Gex: E rating?
by soopersteve ,Nov 20 '07
Pros: Pretty good gameplay, innovative for a 2-d. Cons: Uneccesary vulgarity. rating is a bit off.
I played this game for the first few levels and it did have some interesting game play going through some levels of a cheesy scary area with some funny comments from gex (like to a mummy that had its arms up, I think he asked "dont your arms get tired"?) and you had basic tail whip attack and you swallowed and spit out power ups and sometimes climbing (kinda like sticking) on a wall in the background and foreground (sideways and upside down) and changing the scenery by hitting some switches to get around, if you can call them switches and it was actually fairly challenging going through levels trying to find a remote to open a tv to the next level, But It bugged me that it kept saying "open a can of whoop ---" every so often I think when you press the attack button. at times it had no real reason to say it. uneccesary vulgarity. and as far as I know a game thats rated e is supposed to be approved for 6 year olds and older. I personally dont plan to play this game anymore because of it.

A game for children or not?
by linkinparkfan ,Jul 07 '04
Pros: Controls are for kids, graphics Cons: Language usage, rating of the game
I got this game at EB for $5. I had some cash and my bros wouldn't stop playing my "M" rated games. They started playing and they said it was fun. Later I played it and noticed some of the things the lizard was saying. He used profanity, jokes, and cuss words. I thought some of it was funny, but I am sure they were in shock. The game was made so even children could manage the controls, but the language made it so that children would reapeat it at schools. For a K-A game, it should be rated T.
