I bought this game a couple of years ago and it is still one of the most popular games with my boys ages 4,6, and 8. You can play single or with other players. My four year old needs a little help maneuvering around sometimes, so I help him and find it a little hard to give him back the controller. There are I believe around 15 characters to choose from. You race three other characters and are able to take more than one route on a course. The music and sound effects are GREAT! The ONLY downfall from this game that I see is we are stuck on a certain race and cannot proceed on to enjoy the other races without passing this one... which is common for most games anyways.

i played this strange game at a friend's house, and let me say one thing: it was probably THE most random game I've played. I dont think ive played a game where you race on FOOT before. the change was refreshing, however uncalled for. THe graphics were actually pretty good for an earlier-kinda game, but i thought the turning abilities of the characters were a tad limited. I did like how each kind of character could use their special ability to get a shortcut, it added a twist to the gameplay.

the characters were funny, especially that robot animal, the army one? you know, how he'd be all "ive been trained in 147 ways to kill a man" or somethin like that....good stuff.

Anyway, this game, for me, is strictly entertainment, so id suggest either renting it, MAYbe, or playing at a friends house.
