Pros: Well conditioned and aestetically pleasing golf course with demanding shots a must. Cons: Must be played as the final nine, playing the Overlook nine first.
As the course title describes, this is the most wooded of the three nines at the Old Westbury Golf and Country Club. The nine begins with a benign downhill par 5 fronted with water for 1/3 of the green. The best par 4's on the course may be hole 2 and hole 4, lengthy with demanding greens. Both par 3's on this nine measure more than 180 yards with Hole 5 an uphill par 3 with a small bailout area to the right. The nine holes end up with an uphill par 4 with water and a deep bunker to negotiate for the final shot to the green. When playing Old Westbury one might like to know it is housed on one of Long Island's highest points and serves as a demanding course to walk. Caddies are available as are carts.
