Long Bay Club

Pros: An excellent test of golf, great condition, greens are interesting.
Cons: A bit out of the way from Greater Myrtle Beach area...

Of the 5 years I've been travelling to play in Myrtle Beach, I've only missed this course once. It's that good.
This is a Jack Nicklaus signature course and it is well appointed with shallow, roller-coaster greens, plenty of strategically placed deep bunkers and water hazards. The fairways are open so the emphasis is placed on accurate iron-play. There is even an island green par-3 which you first witness upon entrance to the complex. The grooming of the course has been first rate for every one of my visits. Long Bay is definitely a course you will want to play again once you have enjoyed its challenge.
