  • Convenient Breadmaker

    Aug 10, 2002 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: 3 appliances in 1 allows you to keep your breadmaker conveniently on the counter
Cons: Bigger than a plain toaster oven, so making toast takes longer

Summary: I had to keep my old breadmaker in a cupboard because there was no room for it on my counter. Having it in a cupboard meant it was not as convenient to use and was out-of-sight out-of-mind. The thing I love about my new Toastmaster Breadmaker is I can ... read more

Pros: toasts, cooks, bakes bread, highly reliable
    Cons: none

Summary: I have owned this for at least 10 years and of course, I assume it's off the market. I wish so much that it would still be available as it is just amazing. It is a toaster oven, oven, and breadmaker all in one! It is roomy, cooks beautifully, toasts ... read more

  • What a bargain!!!

    Jun 27, 2001 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: I love the large sized oven area vs. the size of a typical toaster/oven
Cons: I haven't found any yet

Summary: I found this item at a local dept. store while looking for a replacement for my broken toaster oven. It caught my eye because of the large sized oven area (I wanted a "2nd" oven). I really wasn't interested in the bread baking feature. The item was on ... read more

Pros: Easy to use, does everything I want it to.
Cons: Can't use toaster oven to make toast while making bread.

Summary: I was looking for just a toaster oven when I found this toaster oven/broiler/bread maker. Since it's 2 appliances in one and I was able to get it brand new for under $60.00 I snapped it up. I bought it in October of 2000. I love this ... read more

Pros: Doesn't take up a lot of counter space. Easy to use.
Cons: Noisy. Pan is square, not loaf shaped.

Summary: Okay, I made a play on words, but I mean it. I used to make bread by hand and my hands were tired. As I got older it was harder and harder to do. Finally, one Christmas, my husband gifted me with the Toastmaster bread maker. It came with a recipe book ... read more

  • poor temperature control/durability

    Pros: Kneads bread acceptably
Cons: Doesn't really do anything else well

Summary: I bought this bread machine about a year and a half ago, attracted by the concept of a multipurpose machine (I live in a 450 square foot New York apartment, so saving space is essential; plus, my decrepit regular oven doesn't work). Consumer Reports ... read more

Pros: easy to operate, does both jobs very well
Cons: large - not a unit you will be moving around much

Summary: UPDATE in Sep 2002: I have used this unit for a couple of years now and I still really love it! I haven't used the breadmaker that often, but it is sure nice to have it when I want to. We do use the toaster-oven feature quite a bit, so, as I mention ... read more

  • Heaven in my kitchen

    Jun 4, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Multifunctional
    Cons: Cost

Summary: I originally bought this product in my attempt to consolidate my kitchen. My toaster oven was dying and my brother wanted my old bread machine. I figured, how can I go wrong? Not only did it make bread just like any of the other machines I looked at, it ... read more

Pros: Size of loaf, counter space, versatility
Cons: minor - shape of loaf, ease of cleaning

Summary: For years I looked at bread machines of every conceivable shape, brand and size and opted to pass on all of them because of small size of loaf, large size of machine and lack of versatility. As a professional caterer, I spend more time than most looking ... read more

    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Very versatile, easy to use
    Cons: difficult to clean

Summary: While this breadmaker is definitely not for everyone (never enough bread for a large family) for my family itís perfect. The Breadmaker makes a loaf that our small family uses up in one day. No more throwing away moldy bread. The ... read more

Pros: Aside from my microwave, it's the handiest appliance in my kitchen.
    Cons: None

Summary: When I bought this breadmaker, I was only looking for a toaster oven to replace an old Black & Decker one. I already had a bread machine that I was pleased with. I have been delighted to discover that the Hearth bakes just like a regular oven. It's ... read more

    Pros: good looking and versatile
Cons: minor: the door on my machine is sometimes hard to close securely

Summary: I love kitchen gadgets but, because of the lack of free counter space, I have to be selective. If I had the room, I'd have a toaster, toaster oven and a bread machine. The breadmaker's hearth is all three in one appliance. I use it to bake bread, ... read more

    Pros: VERY versatile
    Cons: Hard to find now

Summary: I have had mine for about 3 years. I also have a Toastmaster BreadBox breadmaker. Incidentally, both units have CAST Al pans, which are more durable. I had a previous unit with a thin Al pan and it distorted, making it very hard to get the bread out. ... read more
