Pros: Reasonably priced, easy to use and maintain, simple cycle choices. Cons: No alarm to announce done.
GE DVL223EBWW Standard Electric Dryer In November of 2001, I made some really big changes in my life. It began with a move to Tulsa, OK so that I could be closer to my daughter and my brother and their families. I always hated moving and this ...

Pros: Excellent product at an affordable price Cons: The fact that I had to pay more for a gas
I bought this dryer because my old one died. Also mainly because of the low price. I got this one on sale for 249.99. I was contemplating between this one a a Whirpool gas dryer. But the Whirpool wasn't on sale.
I love this dryer for one reason,...

Pros: faster than electric durable easy to repair Cons: non that I know of 27yrs of service
The thing I like most about gas dryers is that they can pretty well dry a load of clothes in the time it takes a washer to wash a load.
I started out 27 yrs ago with a washer dryer set, wash electric, gas dryer. They both served me well. If...

Man, Wish I never bought this one.
by gprathima ,Nov 11 '03
Pros: None.
Less Expensive Cons: Not Effective;Inadequate support or service; Got to buy extended warranty.
I wish I never bought this or I should have bought the extended warranty. I bought this product because it is less expensive than most other brands ( they are just a 50$ more). I hate this product as it broke 20 days after I bought it and it costs me 40$ more just to have an estimate on what is broken. GE does not have good coverage or support either. I strongly recommend to buy other products than this one.
I call a service center and he tells- "Oh! Why did you buy a GE?'
Inadequate support or service ( takes for ever to talk to operator?).

Stay Away GE DVL223EBWW Standard Electric Dryer.
by princeoli ,Jul 10 '04
Pros: Low price. Cons: Expensive to run. Clothes take longer to dry. Bad support and service.
My clothes take forever to dry. It is costing me double what my previous dryer costs in electric (Hotpoint Electric Dryer that was 10 years old and more efficient). My average load now takes 60 minutes to dry where with my previous dryer 30 minutes. You have to set it on More Dry you can not use the timed section or they will never dry. In their product description they state that the timed section is for polyester. We do not have any polyester clothing. I am sorry I purchased it. It may be cheaper to go to the laundramat. I have the cleanest air ducts around. Customer support told me to clean them so the machine would run better. No difference.

Design Flaw
by jhagin ,Jul 29 '04
Pros: This unit is constructed very well. It is very quite. Very easy to use. Cons: Drying time is totally unacceptable.
It takes two plus drying cycles to dry cloths. I have disassembled and inspected this dryer. All of the components work properly. The problem is that the airflow is not great enough over the heating element. The high temperature thermostat breaks the circuit to prevent overheating and damage to cloths and/or the dryer. The element is on for approximately one minute and then is off for about 3.5 minutes. That is why it takes so long to dry cloths. This is a design flaw. I am a New Products Quality Engineer and Electrical engineer for the largest power tool mfg. in the USA. My advice is NOT to make this purchase.

Happy with GE Dryer
by to7052001 ,Jan 17 '04
Pros: Moisture control settings. The price was reasonable. The dryer has a small footprint. Cons: The door did not close as easily as it should.
We needed to replace our old dryer and could not get a bigger dryer. We have a laundry closet on the first floor with very limited space. This dryer was the perfect solution to our problem. This dryer has a smaller footprint than the other dryers we looked at. The dryer capacity somehow does not suffer from the smaller footprint.
The dryer has all the options we were looking for.

Pros: Quiet Cons: buzzer too quiet Clothes are wrinkled
I am unhappy with this dryer. My clothes are almost always wrinkled (towels are OK!). I thought this was because I don't hear the buzzer. You must be standing near the dryer to hear the buzzer. As it turns out, my clothes are still wrinkled.
