After 35 years of using and burning out numerous hand mixers of every brand name, shape, and promise told, I finally realized that KitchenAid had a hand mixing model. I love their countertop mixer, so I thought I would give their handy hand mixer a try....

You can do just about anything to this thing, and it still works beautifully! My kitchen wouldn't be the same without it. I use it for cookie dough, and other sticky heavy foods that I never could have done with a "cheapie" mixer.
I have gone through at least 5 hand mixers since I got married 6 years ago. This Kitchenaid will the last one I'll ever have to buy. I accidentally dropped a spoon into the bowl I was mixing in. The spoon got caught in the beaters, and I thought I was in trouble! The mixer got stuck, made a horrible grinding noise, and I just about cried. ;)
I turned it off, got the spoon out of there, and when I turned it back on it came right back to life without a problem. That was about a year ago, and it still works flawlessly. I use it frequently, too.

I love the colors. I got red to match the rest of my kitchen! Couldn't ask for a better appliance.

Pros: Very well built,lightweight appliance, will not bog down in heavy doughs.
Cons: Only comes in one color, but then again I don't plan on leaving it out.

After looking at a number of hand mixers and reading many reviews, I decided on this mixer. Believe me when I say you can't go wrong. This mixer is well built, and yes for a durable well made kitchen appliance, it is NOT HEAVY.

I have made about everything including heavy cookie dough to kneading bread with this mixer and could not be happier with my selection.

I was not happy with my hand mixer. I felt it to be way to heavy for a hand mixer and awkward to use. I have a heavy duty kitchen aid counter top mixer. I love it, had it for years. I keep it stashed under my cabinets. When I need it I have to lug it on top. I thought for a quick batch of cookies etc... I'd have a back up hand mixer. After reading rave reviews, I decided to purchase the kitchen aid 9 speed hand mixer. I'm returning it as soon as possible! Also, it is cumbersome for a left handed person like my daughter because the cord is on the right side. She too felt the hand mixer was to heavy and not easily controllable. Release button for beaters, hard to push for release. Beaters hard to lock into hand mixer.
