Pros: Eerily quiet, 4 cycles, stainless tub, energy star model. Cons: none
The "Other" machine When we built our house 10 years ago, we put in a dishwasher. We must have chosen on price because there was little else to recommend our dishwasher. We actually made schedules for running it when we were out of the house ...
Pros: Stainless steel tub, energy efficient, strong warranty, cleans dishes well Cons: Long cycles, but effective cleaning.
When I purchased my condo in early 2002, it was a real fixer-upper. Over a period of a couple of months, I remodeled the entire kitchen and replaced all of the cabinets, countertop, sink, and appliances. The original configuration did not include a ...
Pros: Tall Tub, Quiet Operation Cons: Tight seal so you must use rinse aid to help drying
I bought my KitchenAid after we replaced our kitchen floor and noticed that our old dishwasher (12 yrs old) might have been leaking. I have a tall tub with a stainless steel interior which I love. You don't have to worry about your interior staining...
Pros: Fairly quiet, easy to use Cons: Components are not top-notch, cleaning ability is fair, dryer is marginal, needs regular user maintenance.
These Kitchenaid (Whirlpool-built) dishwashers (KUDI01 series and the more recent KUDI02 series) are mid-price dishwashers that are offered in various trim levels but all offer similar features: easy to use, up-front controls, optional high-temperature ...
Pros: Cleans great, quiet, holds tons of dishes Cons: Top rack could pull out a bit further.
We have the black door, hidden touch pad model. When our Maytag dishwasher died, I went out shopping armed with a short, but mandatory, list of features. Stainless steel tub (the Maytag "cracked" across the top from side to side above the gasket); Food ...
Pros: Nice look, but performance is not superior. Cons: Very poor reliability. $500 in repairs and now the hinges have failed a third time.
We purchased this sleek looking stainless steel dishwasher believing the Kitchenaid brand was the highest quality and therefore worth a premium. What a mistake. Less than one year after installation, the dishwasher hinges began creaking. Eventually ...
This has been a very disappointing diswasher. We purchased it in 2004 to get a quieter dishwasher. It is attractive, quiet, and cleans well when it works. The problem is its poor reliability / durability. 3, 2004 - Purchased3, ...
Pros: Great looking, very quiet and cleans extremely well. Cons: Indicator lights are hidden which is nice but no indicator that cycle is completed.
We just completely remodeled our kitchen and chose Kitchen Aid commercial type appliances for all but 3 of the components, including built in upper refrigerator/lower freezer, warming draw and dishwasher. All of these products are great. The dishwasher...
Pros: Attractive exterior Cons: Didn't clean dishes. KitchenAid would rather wear you down than make things right. Sad.
We bought this product for the home we were building, & moved in 7/05. Dishes were never perfectly clean, but by 12/05, we had to rewash everything. 1/6/06 repairman came out & told us to use Jet Dry. OK, mia culpa, I thought. Things were a bit better ...
Beware of Kitchen Aid appliances by cbulman24 ,Dec 06 '07
Pros: Quiet and does good job cleaning. Cons: Stops working frequently costing technician visit fees and inconvenience.
I purchased this dishwasher in 2005 and have had it serviced three times because it just stopped working. The computer and pump have had to be replaced. It is now broken again. When it works it does a nice job and is quiet. I purchased a range and refrigerator at the same time as this dishwasher and have had similar experiences with both.
Pros: Originally quiet. Racks flexible and set up well. Has food disposal Cons: Does clean that well. Motor burn out at 3 years
Bought a house with this dishwasher. It has never cleaned that well. It was quiet. At 3yrs old it is making a terrible noise and the repairman said it needs a new motor, but that he has replaced a lot and people complain about the new and improved motor not being as quiet as the original. It is not used heavily.
Spend $300 to repair or ditch it for another brand? Also, the stainless is very hard to clean because it goes all the way to the top and there are always finger prints and drips from where you fingers go when lifting it to close. I would replace with one with black at the top.
Pros: Sleek, digital door, easy to care for, stainless steel interior, price, size Cons: NONE!
Sleek, smooth, digital controls. Easy clean. Powerfully quiet. The first time I've used this, and lots of times afterwards, I actually put my ear to it to make sure it was running. Need to load silverware as stated in the instructions. If placed downward doesn't seem to clean as well. Could be the cheap soap I use, though. I'm not sure. Very quick on the normal cycle. Very rarely do I need to rewash anything coming out of it. Stainless steel interior, waste removal, multi-level washing. More than ample room in the utensil basket for flatware. Trays are quite large and the size from the outside is quite deceiving. Easy to load, maintain and use. The noisiest part of the whole wash cycle is when the soap door opens. It can be quite surprising, since it does run so quietly.
Pros: Excellent cleaning, easy loading, large capacity Cons: Could use an indicator that cycle has finished on the door.
I bought this dishwasher after returning two brand new LG dishwashers leaked around the door. I've had it for a few months now and have been very pleased. Although it's not as quiet as the LG, it is easier to load and will clean the worst baked on cookware or dishes. We also compared the Kitchen Aid to Bosch, Asko and other Euro models and found the capacity lacking along with fussy racks. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this unit to anyone looking for an unit that will clean anything and has a large capacity and easy loading.
Pros: Cool styling, convenient rack design, stainless steel interior Cons: Plastic crap working parts underneath and broken out of the box.
I have a GE Nautilus that my wife wanted to replace. Our GE was making too much noise and didn't have the rack features of this Kitchenaid model. We bought it 12/17/05.
That evening we took it out of the box to install it and found that the impeller housing was completely broken off. Parts were hanging off the underside of the machine. On closer inspection it was easy to see that this machine is made of cheap plastic parts. The housing holding the impeller to the bottom was cracked in two places. other parts were hanging off the underbelly of the dishwasher as well. Actually, I am glad that it happened. That way I did not install it and find out a couple years later that it was crap when it started leaking or falling apart while installed under my counter. We are returning it for a refund and decided that the GE is good enough. In fact I think it is better made on the working parts side. Sure, it lacks the cool stainless interior of the Kitchenaid and adjustable racks, but who cares when the engine that drives the thing is plastic crap?
