Pros: Worked great for a while and looks nice. Cons: Poorly built internal component and no backing from GE
Summary: Our JTP56 is about 7-8 years old. When we bought our house 3 years ago the oven wouldn't self clean. It would go for a few hours and then lock up. You had to shut off the power to the oven and wait several hours for it to cool down so it would unlock ... read more

Pros: Maybe okay if you don't use an oven for cooking very often Cons: Control panel failure; display panel went dark.
Summary: I bought a newly constructed home in the late '90s and the builder installed GE Profile appliances. The oven and dishwasher both had control panel failures when they were only about 2 years old and I had to pay for them to be fixed since I didn't have an ... read more

Pros: None Cons: Overheats, self-clean doesn't work. F7 and F0 errors even after control panel replaced
Summary: We bought our home (built new) in 2004, in 2009 the oven started showing the F7 error after I ran the self clean it shut off after 2 hours, we called Sears, the technician determined it was the control panel. The visit cost $129.00. He ... read more

Pros: Looked good initially (before unsightly moisture got between the glass and couldn't be cleaned). Cons: With a 15 word maximum, I cannot possibly list all the cons.
Summary: I am also having the beeping with the F7 error message with my GE JTP56 Double Oven. This has been the biggest lemon of an oven. While it was still under warranty, they could not figure out how to fix it so they replaced it. With ... read more

Pros: Love having a double oven and the convection is nice. Cons: Acts insane after a short time
Summary: We purchased this double wall item brand new when we built our house. Worked great at first. Then it would start beeping for no reason and show an F7 error. At first it clearing it would stop it. Then after a while you could only get it to stop if you ... read more

Pros: works most of time and does a good job cooking, self-cleaning, and has convection. Cons: warranty is only one year.
Summary: This review is mainly how I have avoided needing to buy a new oven, by fixing a recurrent problem, that is, an F7 error code. When the F7 code cannot be cleared, the only function that works is the clock display - no keypad functionality - so you ... read more

Pros: Looks nice. Cons: You'll spend a fortune maintaining it. GE Quality and support SUCKS!!!
Summary: Just look at the number of posts on this topic and you'll see it's not that just I got a lemon. This is the pathetic quality you can expect from GE with no support from them either. I had to replace the control unit on our GE Profile double

Pros: none Cons: Most unreliable appliance ever owned
Summary: Have had issues with the oven since the first month. Repaired under warranty several times then we paid for the parts for many years. Worst was when it started to self clean on its own, wouldn't unlock or stop, had to turn off circuit

Pros: Convection Cons: Lots of repairs.
Summary: I bought this oven 5 years ago new from Sears. It wasn't too long before I had a problem. When using the self clean option the oven shows an error on the panel. The F7 error code flashes and the top oven stops working all together. I had this

Pros: I though GE was a recognizable brand and company. I guess not ! Cons: I will not buy another GE product again.
Summary: Well, we built our first home and always wanted a double oven (D/O). Now that we got it, the D/O is almost 3 years old and started the F7 and E9 error. I don't understand it. I bearly used it, just for special ocasions like

Pros: Did you say "Pros"???? Cons: 15 word maximum is a joke. This product should be recalled.
Summary: I thought I was losing my mind and then I read all the reviews...this unit is a dud! We researched wall ovens when we built our home 10 years ago and unfortunately chose this product. I cannot rely on the temperature-ever! Forget the

Pros: Worked well as an oven Cons: Three strikes and you're out
Summary: We have had the GE double oven since moving into our new home in 2000. In 2005 I replaced the Control Panel Assembly because it failed. Then again in the winter of 2008 it failed again and I replaced it. Each time I could see where the ribbon wire was

Pros: LOOKS GOOD Cons: LOTS OF MALFUNCTIONS. QUALITY STINKS.
Summary: I owned this oven for 2 years. The oven began having intermittant problems. Eventually the oven began to shut off while baking and would not turn on for hours. At this point, 2 years after the problems began, the oven may ormay not be on at a giventime.

Pros: None that I can see. Cons: Very costly and expensive to repair. The most unreliable oven ever.
Summary: Constant repair problems, always with the expensive electronics. Our double oven is 8 years old and we have spent almost $1,000 on repairs, all with the electronics (control panel & display). This is an example of a company that once made

Pros: It baked at first! Cons: Repetitive problems and no backing from GE.
Summary: I have been so frustrated with this very same problem. Several f7's and several repairman visits. This is absolutely ridiculous! After reading all of your complaints, I am tempted to take legal action. I have never heard of a company that makes

Pros: looks good Cons: hot spots in convection, unreliable, error-prone
Summary: We have had the double oven for 6 years. It has always had a problem with hot spots in the convection oven and inconsistent results with the lower oven. It is now working only intermittently, constantly getting F0 and F1 errors. We have spent $300

Pros: we liked the oven, except for the continual F7 error that popped up Cons: good oven except for this chronic DESIGN issue
Summary: First shut off the power. Remove the three hex screws under the control panel (you must open the door to get to them). the control panel can then be rotated out (there is a tab at the top). remove the small black tab that locks the ribbon cable in

Pros: NONE Cons: An oven should NOT have this many frequent failures
Summary: I have already replaced the original control panel for $289 in 2001. Now I get the F7 error and it has to be replaced for $537(457 parts and 80 labor) ! GE is offering me 150 for parts and $1423(removal and disposal of old and installation of

Pros: double ovens, touch panel control, temperature accuracy Cons: F7 error problem
Summary: Initially I really liked this oven, when purchased new in May 2002. However, the dreaded F7 error occured in 2006. We had a local repairman come out and clean & reseat the ribbon cable behind the touch panel. Well, this lasted for about 6 months.

Pros: It looks good but ends there! Cons: Won't last you more than 5 years max.
Summary: It is amazing that GE can sell this product and not be brought into the court room. After 4 1//2 years I received the F7 error after using the self cleaning oven feature. When I phoned GE the customer service department mentioned that if you use the self
