I purchased a Steam Wizard (SM420) several years ago and have only used it several times. I recently tried to use it and the steam element has stopped working so I contacted Sharper Image about service. There is no service for the product and they will not disclose the manufacturer so I could have it repaired. Since it is off warranty they have no options to repair the product. When these first came out they were much more expensive then today so this is particularly frustrating. Beware that once off warranty you will have no ability the repair the product and since mine broke after only a half dozen uses I would avoid this product.

I bought the Steam Vac because I wanted something easy to use and move around the house because I have dogs. It has good suction...but that's about it. I've had two already and both broke in the exact same place - the flimsy wire hinge that holds the nozzle onto the base in front. Since my second one broke I purchased Bissell's Little Green Machine and am much happier with it, although it's not as good as it could be either.

I have small children that like to dump their food out everywhere. After running to get our upright vacuum several times a day I decided to buy this product. Originally it worked quite well however there are some design flaws. The vacuum portion works reasonably well on very small items, but larger items (about the size of a cheerio) will clog it up, requiring a lengthy process to dislodge the cheerio. Furthermore, the steaming feature does steam, however it also makes everything soggy and when you try to vacuum up your soggy steamy mess it once again clogs up the vacuum. The 2 front wheels broke off of it almost the first week, then the latch that holds the vacuum canister also snapped and broke off probably within the first couple months under light use. I was EXTREMELY disappointed with this product

My steamer is making plenty of clicking sounds, and the underside of the unit is warm, but absolutely NO steam is coming out.  I do have the turbo steam setting set to "on" and I do have the other setting set to "steam."  (there are only two thumb-controlled knobs on the unit).  It's too bad I didn't try this sooner.  I was given this at my bridal shower over six years ago, and I just openend the box today.  It literaly does NOT work at all and I can't return it.  I sure hope my mom didn't pay $100 for the PIECE OF CRAP.
