Pros: Great on hard floors AND rugs. Easily pushed back and forth. Cons: Painfully heavy -- horrible inflexible hose.
THE STORY PART
You don't see me writing much in this category because I hate cleaning. I am from the school of housekeeping thought that says "why vacuum when it's just going to get attacked by Cheerios and playground sand in another...
Pros: Great suction on carpet and bare floors; versatile hand tools Cons: Inflexible hose; self-propulsion useless; short cord
I'm a floor freak. The house can be in shambles around me but the floor better be clean. There's nothing worse than walking across a carpet and getting a sockfull of doghair, or barefeet looking like they've been walking on asphalt for a couple of...
Pros: Cleans great! Attachments work great too! Cons: Short attachment hose
We have a love-hate relationship with our dogs. We love the dogs. We hate the dog hair. If you have dogs or cats, you know what a pain the hair is. And if you also happen to have young children, like we do, you also know how keeping floors and...
Pros: Picks up cat hair
Easy bag changes
Powerful suction
Good value Cons: Short tool hose
We read the reviews at this and many other sites before purchasing the Hoover Self-Propelled WindTunnel Ultra Upright (model U6430900). We previously owned a Hoover Self-Propelled upgright when Hoover first introduced "on-board tools" (10 years ago)....
Pros: Mini Upholstery attachment, self propelling, GREAT SUCTION Cons: bags (that I can find) don't fit right and fill quickly, short hose
I purchased this vacuum almost a year ago, in April 2002, when the last of a series of crazy maids quit on me. I have 4 large dogs who live indoors, so dog hair is my most serious problem. I figured if I could find a good vacuum, maybe I wouldn't mind...
Pros: Really does grab dirt you can't see Cons: Heavy, and the hose is way short
I've had the unit for only 2 days so far, so my comments are based on initial impressions. Previously I used a Hoover upright that was about 5 years old, and also have a no-name barrel unit that came from Australia when I moved to the US (the barrel unit...
Pros: Power and features. Cons: Short hose and small bag.
I had to replace my 5 year old Eureka and my daughter told me I have to get a Hoover. So I started looking around, I used Epinions, Consumer Reports, and the Hoover Company. From Consumer Reports and Epinions I learned that people generally like...
Pros: Incredible suction!
Rotating Spin Brush attachment (Powered Hand Held Tool)!!
Cons: 21 lbs, or so, a little heavy for cleaning on stairs.
OK, my old vacuum (kenmore) wasn't cleaning so well. So I checked out Consumer Reports recommendation and decided with the help on the other reviews on this site and Consumer's that I'd give this Hoover a try. First of all let me say that I have 4 kids...
Pros: Great sucking power, Self-propel feature is good when it works Cons: Cumbersome, Heavy, Cord Keeper needs work, Reach on the attachments is short
I have the Hoover Windtunnel Ultra Upright. While it has great sucking power, I wouldn't buy this o ...
Pros: The suction is great - as long as the bag is in place properly. Cons: The weight, the accessory hose, the bag, the handle...keep reading...
I bought this vacuum using the reviews on this site. I am SO disappointed! ~The plastic door holding the upholstery attachment broke the first time I used it. ~The accessory hose is placed in the middle of the back of the vacuum, making the entire ...
Pros: Good on carpet. Until you have to clean up the blood from your macerated toes. Cons: Oh, where do I START!?
Okay, I've suffered with this stupid Hoover for years and just really need to blat about how bad it is. Here's why: 1. Incredibly Loud. Can't hear my phone when it's clipped to my belt tured all the way up. 2. Useless on hardwoods. I bought this ...
Pros: Brush roll turns off for tools/bare floors, Bag indicator Cons: Doesn't suck well, Cord covers spot to carry; only VERY small hands fit
I purchased this vacuum after first trying out the Hoover Bagless Turbo 5290-900. I was really impressed with the 5290-900; it was quite impressive on carpet, but the brush roll didn't turn off for hard floor and it blew all the dirt around. So I...
Pros: It seemed to have very good suction Cons: Very heavy. Broke easily. The self-propelled function was weird.
I just returned my Self-Propelled Wind Tunnel to Costco. I used it for a month and did not care for it. I was thinking I made a bad decision and was stuck with it. We are having a kitchen remodel going on so an electrician was doing some work for us. ...
Pros: None Cons: Hose is too short. Doesn't pick up a thing.
The Wind Tunnel is the worst vacuum I have ever owned. I paid over $250.00 for this and it does not pick up what it should. I have a dog and the hair stays in the same place that I just vacuumed. It doesn't even pick up a piece of lint. The hose is so short that the entire vacuum falls on my back while trying to use it. The foot pedal broke within a year. I would never recommend this vacuum to anyone.
