Pros: extra large wash capacity Cons: too many too list!!!
I bought my Calypso in April 2005 for $850 to replace my other washing machine that only cost $200. My $200 washing machine lasted 8 years before it started to die. I also wanted a bigger wash load capacity ( I am a mother of 3 children with a husband ...

Pros: fancy and uses "new technology" Cons: read the review - it leaves clothes dry, stretched, wadded, and greasy.
My Calypso was delivered April 2002. We bought it primarily due to Consumer Reports' high review of this product. Mine failed a few months after it was installed, and has failed twice since then. The biggest problem seems to be that smallish items ...

Pros: Sleek design, easy to use panel Cons: It CANNOT wash a King or Queen size comforter...unless it's very flat or flimsy.
We purchased our Calypso 2 yrs ago when buying our new home. At the time the Duet washers had just ...

Pros: Looks nice. Very energy efficient. Cons: Flawed design. Leaks. Smells. Class action lawsuit. Too many complaints to ignore.
I won't be fooled again. Do not buy this machine!!! My wife and I bought the Calypso by Whirlpool the weekend before Thanksgiving 2004. The old washer that came with the house we recently purchased stopped spinning, and not great to begin with. ...

Pros: Great! Cons: Not Cheap
I know there are all kinds of review claiming this thing is a disaster. All I can say is it's been great for us, not a single problem. Consumer reports and Consumer Guide both rated it very highly and we concur. It saves water and energy as ...

Pros: Noise, Efficiency, Speed, Selection of Options, Capacity, Cleans great Cons: Cost
My wife and I purchased the Calypso 6 months ago. We were a little hesitant based on the price and the fact that this is a new machine with no track record, but we went ahead anyway and hoped the 1 year warranty would suffice. So far, we have been...

Pros: That big metal box looks pretty in my laundry room. Cons: Reuses previous wash water, pump fails quickly due to any sudsing in cycle.
I'm in the same boat as thousands of others. Thought the Whirlpool Calypso innovative design was just fabulous. No agitator. Less Water. Great, right? Wrong, wrong, wrong. My washer continually flashes "LD" (long drain) and cannot complete a cycle. ...

Pros: Has bleach compartment Cons: Does NOT clean well. Dirty clothes come out still dirty.
This washer does not fill with water. You put in the clothes and it sprays them with soapy water and agitates it around. My clothes always get crushed down from the soapy water and it does not clean in the wrinkles of the clothes. Do not buy. Check...

Pros: i wish i could think of one -- I guess that it is paid for. Cons: streaks, grease spots, tangled and twisted clothes at the end of a cycle, noisy, unreliable
I had a regular whirlpool washing machine for 17 years. Aside from the flaking metal on the paint body and the quirky way I had to hold the controls to make the machine fill up on the rinse cycle, the thing still worked great when i had it hauled off by ...

Pros: Simple operation, huge capacity Cons: Excessively wrinkles clothes, darks frequently have residue lines, expensive
We have been married over 30 years and have seven children. As a result, we have had lots of laundry experience.
We own an Asko front loader and wanted a second washing machine. After much research, we purchased a Calypso, unfortunately...

Pros: Cleans real well. Use of water has dropped. Quiet. Uses considerably less water. Cons: Concerned if electronics ever go out about the cost of the repair. The Cost.
We have owned our Whirlpool Calypso washer for just about a month now. When we first bought it, we cringed at the cost. I never thought I was going to pay nearly $1000 for a clothes washer when we started looking. After looking at the Maytag front...

Pros: Large capacity, low water/electric/detergent use Cons: Breaks down, requiring major repair, every four to five months. Do not purchase!
I'm not sure why I paid $1058 for a washing machine. A friend of mine raved about hers, I have a family of three sons and a husband, I was interested in the large capacity/no agitator...I guess I was just curious! Plus the salesman promised me that I ...

Pros: Quiet, easy to use, uses less detergent and water, spins clothes very dry, great at stain removal Cons: I am only concerned with touch panel controls - will they stop working someday???
From the day I saw the commercial for this machine(I have model #GVW9959KQ1) I was intrigued. Could such a washer truly exist? I researched it, checked every review available, kept checking local dealers for the best price and finally decided to just...

Pros: unknown Cons: loss of clothing, time,$$$ and patience!!!!!
Worst machine (appliance) ever purchased. The YUGO of washing machines. We bought the hype on this machine and purchased it from Best Buy in Oct. 2003. The machine immediately had problems. It began leaking water from the drain, and underneath within 2 ...

Pros: It looks nice in my laundry room Cons: It does not wash your cloths, it ruins them
I have owned this washer since it hit the market 3/01. My husband wears expensive work cloths so I wanted a washer that was going to be gentle and effective. I really wanted a front loader, but after reading the rave reviews in Consumer Reports I ...
