Tie your things down! Buy Boxes and have hard copies of everything!

by budgetravelgal , Feb 17 '09
Pros: Great customer service, awesome price.  Terminal-to-terminal is cheaper. Did I mention great price?
Cons: Alot of planning involved to pack into the trailer. Frequent computer errors, get hard copies!
My boyfriend and I were moving cross country from Florida to California at the end of January '09.  Every dollar counted for us, since our money had to go towards *living* in California not blowing it all by *moving* there.  We started ...

Stress-free Move

by gldmse , Nov 07 '08
Pros: Great agents; quick service; everything arrived in the condition in which it was packed
Cons: Miscommunication caused the driver to have to spend time waiting on me to arrive
I just moved last week using ABF's U-Pack service.  I'm currently living in Maryland and my things shipped from Indiana.  My Mom packed up the truck in Indiana.  The driver called to let her know he was on his way and arrived in the 30 ...

Florida to Colorado Cross-Country Move

by happyinco2009 , Sep 25 '09
Pros: Courteous, professional, skilled drivers.  Honest. Didn't overcharge.
Cons: Dirty trailer floor
When we found ABF U-Pack online, we were a bit leary about moving companies in general. Having "shopped around" for a couple of months from PODS to United Van Lines, the services we were quoted ranged from $5,000-$10,000 for our 2000 sq ft house!  ...

ABF U-PACK - GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!

by vintagelady , Sep 02 '09
Pros: Cost efficient, honest, trustworthy, caring people, professional, timely, bent over backwards to be helpful.
Cons: None
I have never in recent years received the level of customer service displayed by ABF personnel.  They did everything they said that they would do plus much more.  Their professionalism, credibility, honestly, and trustworthiness went far ...

It worked

by fishofapril , Sep 25 '09
Pros: A) Did not have to drive; B) Friendly staff
Cons: Was much more work than I anticipated!
I read every negative review and am very sorry for those folks who had bad experiences. Ultimately, I went with ABF anyway. While hesitant because of the reports of those experiences, it fit with my DIY mindset.  I was terrified of the possible ...

ABF U-Pack Moving Provides a Great Service!

by hockeyjockNew Member , Dec 11 '09
Pros: Great cost compared to other options; also convenient and flexible.
Cons: When using the terminal service, you will want a large vehicle (else lots of trips).
I'm a student and I either rent or stay at home, and for the rest use my car.  I Hired ABF to move a "Relo-Cube" full of my personal stuff over a distance of 2000 miles.  A relo-cube is a miniature storage container that you ...

Great, Inexpensive and stressfree

by jsmith574 , Aug 28 '09
Pros: Inexpensive, easy to use, cooperative, honest, NO HIDDEN FEES!!, fast delivery
Cons: Just be sure to doublecheck your bill for accuracy
I moved last week from Connecticut to South Carolina and I used ABF U-Pack. I am very pleased with them. No other company that I called could even come close to their price and other companies wouldn't allow me to haul certain items that ABF did ...

Great service, excellent price

by whitenkNew Member , Dec 17 '09
Pros: Fast & cheap
You get 3 business days to load ReloCubes
Cons: Does not include blankets/dollies (Broadway Express does)
We went with ABF/Upack ReloCubes because we needed more time to load and unload. Their freight truck option and the similar option from Broadway Express both required an immediate load (like within a couple hours of the truck arrival). The ReloCubes were ...

ABF U-Pack Cube Great Experience

by djlansing , Nov 22 '09
Pros: Load at your pace.
Needn't be there for pick-up.
Overnight stay, No worry about possessions .
Cons: Need hooks that will fit in the small slots on sides for tying load.
We needed to send some items to furnish our new vacation home in Florida.  We thought about using U-haul and were worried about overnight accommodations as our possessions sat out in a parking lot.  We looked at the PODS option but they were ...

DO NOT USE ABF.

by carleem89 , Jul 08 '08
Pros: I got my belongings.
Cons: Too long for 15 words.
I decided use ABF to move my things from California to Tennessee. The "estimated" time was 5 days. I drove up and made the trip in 3 days, so I was pretty sure 5 days was a reliable estimation, so we planned on it to arrive within 5-6 days. The ...

MOVED TO TEARS!!!

by jtsunshine , Nov 13 '09
Pros: Helped us with the trucking ramps/truck doors on the day of the move.
Cons: TERRIBLE, UNRELIABLE SERVICE-BELONGINGS NOT SECURE/SAFE!!!! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!!
The worker from ABF came out to the trailer to install/secure the "wall".  He/ABF secured the wall because we didn't know how to do it properly.  However; their procedure for securing the "wall" is/was inappropriate and didn't secure our stuff! ...

ABF is an excellent company
by misnger ,Nov 02 '06
Pros: Delivered as promised & not overpriced
Cons: Tall space to pack
We recently moved from Florida to PA we used 18 feet of trailer space and was charged $1637.00 We had no problems, the truck was delivered on time. So far we found no broken items, except 2 book shelves but it was our packing fault. Overall this company delivers exactly what they say, I only wish they offered more coupons & discounts.
No need to worry with company! Just know how to pack the truck & you will be alright

Smooth Move
by darkstructures ,Oct 30 '06
Pros: Trailer arrived earlier. Low cost. Not having to drive a truck cross country
Cons: Loading the trailer is a lot of work
We just completed a move cross country from Washington to Oklahoma. Everything went smoothly and the trailer even arrived several days earlier than estimated. We packed everything very carefully but thing still got scratched. Pretty much anything not encased in cardboard or wrapped in blankets will get scratched. Also about half of the ropes that I used to tie down the load snapped, so I would recommend using very strong ropes or straps as the load can shift. The bulkhead was a little damaged but it is just a divider and will not hold any weight securely. Our trailer packing strategy involved standing couches vertically and filling around them with boxes. We placed long odd shaped things like bikes on top of the load. Finally, we placed our mattress and box springs at the end and secured with rope.

Perfect move
by fannygas ,Oct 27 '03
Pros: Price is right. Prompt and very courteous service.
Cons: None- and I mean it.
Trailer and ramp show-up at old house on time.
We packed it.
Trailer and ramp show-up at new house 2000 miles away on time.
We unpacked it.
Paid $2600 instead of $5600 for full service. Exactly as estimate said.
There's no other choice for moving.
