ABF U-Pack Moving

Pros: Convienent,trucks are clean. Easy to track your move. On time. Excellent customer service.
Cons: You have to pack and load.

I recently used ABF U-Pack moving for a move from Puerto Rico to Miami Beach Florida. I can't say enough good things about this moving comapany. I got my all of my items in record time and in excellent condition. I did have one casualty but that was because we did not pack it right. Do Not hesitate to use them. They are couteous and very helpful and most impressive is that they arrived on time. The best moving experience I have ever had.

Pros: Unbeatable price, flexibility, and customer service.
Cons: ABF's trailers do not have cushy suspension--a little extra padding might be helpful.

We've used ABF for two moves with their trailers, and both were great experiences. ABF kept every promise they made, and they were very flexible with changes in our plans

On our first move, we found the cost with ABF was less than renting a U-Haul truck, not even counting for fuel, hotels, meals, etc. When someone bought most of our furniture and our load decreased from 22 feet to 8 feet of trailer space, there was no penalty, only a huge savings in shipping costs. On our second move, we had some date changes, and ABF lowered the price when I asked them to drop the trailer off a day earlier than initially requested.

We found every person we dealt with at ABF courteous and helpful.

I highly recommend them.

On the second move, we hired a company to load and unload the truck for us. They did not pad and stack as carefully and there was some damage.

Pros: ABF is organized, polite, affordable, helpful and our ONLY choice for moving in the future.
Cons: Sorry, we don't have any cons!

My family and I have use ABF for four different moves... usually across about one-half the country. We have requested bids from other movers the first two times but their rates were, on the average, triple the cost over ABF U-Pack Moving. The last two times we just went on-line and went only to ABF...gave them the moving info and within 12 hours we had our rate (shamefully affordable) and all the help any potential moving family could want. I really want to stay settled for some time now...but when it comes time to move again...we will ONLY call ABF U-Pack. I wish they would let me give my name and phone number as I would have no problem giving anyone a personal recommendation. Steve

I used ABF U-Pack's Relocube service for a long distance move. It was perfect for me. I received a low quote and the price never changed and that was exactly the amount I was charged. And at a price I could afford, PODS wanted over $3,000 for the exact same service I paid less than $900 for to ABF. The personnel at both ends were friendly and helpful, even to finding rope for me when I forgot to bring some when picking up. The only thing I would have changed was having the relocube delivered directly to my new home in a small town. I had to rent a uhaul trailer (that's another review and not nearly as good a one) to pick up my things from our nearest ABF depot. Otherwise I was extremely pleased with ABF U-Pack service and would recommend them to anyone planning a move,

Cons: You have to pack carefully to avoid damage. But I had none!!

I was especially impressed with my driver Robert Benford who dropped and picked up the storage locker. I had almost no shifting and absolutely no damage.
I check many movers who did everything and found many complaints of damage, and additional charges.This is a company worth using, especially if you need to move and store things for a while.
I would use them again!!

Cons: no door service in my area of MI

I moved from San Diego to Port Huron, MI. I used a ReloCube, which they delivered to my door in SD. Unfortunately, I had to pick up my stuff from the delivery station in MI since they didn't do door-to-door delivery in my area of MI. No big deal, since they charge less in these cases. Definitely a good experience: Save on driving time, gas, hotels, etc. Probably saved at least $3000 plus 3 days moving over the nearest competitor (truck rental, PODS).

They dropped off the cube on Friday, I loaded it over the weekend, they picked it back up on Monday, I flew from San Diego to Detroit Tuesday, cube arrived Thursday in Port Huron, MI. I was able to track the shipment online the whole way. Also, they offer additional insurance (just in case).

Pros: Fast, flexible, inexpensive, and good customer service.
Cons: Securing goods for transport with just a wire wall barrier is not very effective.

I ordered a move with ABF and they were very flexible to work with. They helped me select a day when the cost would be lowest, they dropped the truck right on time and picked everything up without a problem. They also stored my goods for longer than advertised at no additional cost. When I requested delivery the truck was right on time and was picked up very quickly when I was done. Only problem was my loading of the goods. You better be good at Tetris! My goods shifted and a couple of things were damaged and I have a couple of off duty professional movers help me. It looked secure. The wall stopper used was not so great and was difficult to secure and release.

Pros: Fast, Nice people to deal with.
Cons: None.. well the only thing would be better insurance.

I had a very short time frame to move. Basically was looking to move with about a week lead time. After dealing with a number of scum bag moving companies it was a pleasure to deal with these guys. I called them in the morning and booked a 300 cuft mobile container. They delivered it the same day in the evening and picked up promptly the next afternoon. The online tracking was fantastic and gave me peace of mind knowing where my stuff was and when it will be delivered. As soon as the box reached the destination they called me the very same day and delivered it the next day at exactly the time promised. If you are ready to do the packing yourselves these guys are the best.

Pros: Great customer service, cheap price.
Cons: The ramp is extra, the wall is kind of hard to put up.

ABF is not only a cheap way to go, but the smart way. The quotes I received from similar companies ranged from $1,000 - $2,000, with ABF being the cheapest. The employees are pleasant to speak with and the drivers were very friendly. If you want to save money and be confident your items will arrive in one piece, ABF is the way to go.

I had read reviews about ABF that it was hassle free but I never imagined it would really be. It was! They were friendly on the phone, they came to drop the container on time, they made no bones about me getting late filling the container, they picked it up on time and dropped it off on time. I had imagined that my stuff inside the container would be in disarray but I got a pleasant shock to see everything almost as I had kept it. Do their trailers have shock-absorbers or what! Go for it.

I had an excellent experience with ABF. I was able to talk to a live person on the phone without having to hold or go through a voice prompt maze. I was then able to communicate with one person via e-mail...always received a reply within 2 hours. Every question was professionally answered every time. On packing day, ABF dropped off the truck a little later in the day than I expected but were able to pick it up a few hours later (condo association would not let it stay overnight). The truck was very clean and the drivers were very professional. I could go on and on with positive comments about my experience with ABF...

Cons: If you have a lot of nice things--- you should consider purchasing additional insurance.

In my opinion... ABF provides the best possible move for the money. I have used the company twice--- and will again! Every driver has been courteous and helpful... and the service has always been outstanding. The first time I used ABF to move--- my mattress received minor water damage. I had to replace my mattress--- and within a few checks--- ABF had send me a reimbursement check. The check didn't cover my entire loss (reimbursement is tiered by shipment weight)--- but the customer service was spectacular! The second time I used ABF to move--- it was raining the day my truck was delivered. And the driver took off his sweater--- put on his work gloves--- and helped me unload the truck!! Who does that? He was absolutely fantastic! Sure--- your boxes may get a little banged up--- and your things may get a little dirty--- but the customer service makes up for any mess! It's cheaper than U-Haul--- and really--- who wants to drive a truck across the country?

ABF price is far cheaper than using a moving company, renting a POD or SAM, but so is their customer service. My belongings had an estimated 2 day transit time. It turned out to be more of a 3 1/2 day transit time, to transport it 8 hours.  The terms of our contract showed we had 3 days to unload our belongings once the trailer arrived.  When the driver arrived with the trailer he told us it was going to be a "live" unload. Meaning he would wait for us to unload the trailer.  We explained to him that he needed to leave the trailer and respect the terms of our contract.  He ignored our request, parked the trailer, sat in his truck and read a newspaper. I've used a POD before and after my experience with ABF I would gladly pay double the price to rent from a company that is more reliable/customer friendly.

Pros: Low cost, did everything they said they would do plus more. Excellent customer support.
Cons: Ramps were not available in our destination location.

ABF U-Pack moved us cross country for more than half the cost and we were very happy with their service. I have been telling everyone about them. I had such a bad experience before with moving cross country and I was so afraid to do it again. It was such a pleasure working with a company that sticks to their word and gives no surprises. I moved from seattle to the bay area , california recently.
I had on the whole a good experience with abf upack movers.

1)The driver arrived with my moving truck in the specified
window of time and parked it conveniently for me.

2)Enlist some good local movers to pack your stuff
in the trailer. They must know how to pack the trailer,
economically. (I saved some space and money due to them)

3)You need two people to install the bulkhead.
In any case, when the driver come to pickup the trailer,
ask him whether the bulkhead is installed correctly or not.

4)My stuff was at the destination terminal in a couple of days. (seattle - bay area is a short distance).
They dropped off the trailer in a convenient spot.
I did my unloading at myown pace.

I recommend them very high.
