container move from MD to Tampa FL.
by movedone ,Apr 28 '08
Pros: fast pick up + delivery,Friendly drivers,Great service, On time,no problems,NOTHING damaged Cons: Nothing, all went smoother than I expected.
move went smooth with out any problems on either end. Cost was WAY less than other quotes. Container size was 6' x 7' x 8', a size the others didn't have or wouldn't tell me that they did. Door to door = NO problems. On time. I would use them again and will this summer for another load. Much cheaper and less time then driving.
Delivered with in 24 hours of est. time. GOOD/GREAT SERVICE door to door.

No delivery time estimate, unhelpful dispatch unit in Brooklyn, NY
by e7a7b7 ,Oct 22 '07
Pros: nice website, good prices Cons: poor time estimates, inconsistent and uncaring local service (Brooklyn)
This experience could be limited to Brooklyn or the NY area, but we reserved with u-Pack about 4 weeks in advance of our planned move, and also called the local cube dispatch to see what time to expect the cubes. We were told they would arrive at 11AM and stay for 4 hours (NYC doesn't allow stuff to stay on the street). We consequently reserved loading help for those times. A week prior to move, we called the uPack dispatch to confirm again, and a different person said "we don't work that way" and said the cube "should" arrive between 1:30 and 3:30. When told of our situation having already spoken to somebody about this and reserved loading help, the person didn't care and offered no suggestions. When asked if we could get his new time estimate in writing, so we could be sure of it when re-reserving loading help, he refused. THANKS ALOT, PAL! How am I supposed to load my crates in 4 hours, if I have no idea when they will be arriving?

Best price and service
by tmerendino ,Mar 30 '09
Pros: Priced right, large truck, great ramp. Cons: Had none for this move
This has been my best move ever. I went with the entire 28 foot trailer for my move. They only charge you for the for the linear feet you use in the truck. We had to move from Tennessee to Canada, and all other options were very unreasonably priced or very inconvenient. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They will hold your stuff for as long as you like for a nominal storage fee. I will only use ABF for all my moving from now on.
Happy in Canada

Thumbs way down!
by bourst ,Jun 14 '08
Pros: none Cons: no communication, no service and no compensation when they failed in their job.
I ordered a large item from Amazon.com which was scheduled to be delivered on Thursday. By 5:30PM there was no package and no word from ABF so I called them. I was told that the driver was in a town 20 miles from me but I was assured that I would get my package that evening. By 9:30PM there was no package and not so much as a courtesy call from ABF.
The next morning I called the company to ask about the status of my delivery only to be told that my package was sent back to holding and that there was no way I could get my package before Monday! I was offered no explanation, no apology, no refund and no alternatives. I was further told that the package could not be delivered on the day of my call because the driver's mother was in the hospital!!
So now my delivery is delayed by 4 days. I was frustrated and wrote to Amazon who promptly called me back with a big apology and a refund on my handling charges and a promise to review their policy with ABF.

U pack move
by geland1 ,Aug 13 '09
Pros: Cheap Cons: Everything else besides cost
I am completely disappointed with their customer service and moving service in general. I moved from Los Angeles to Chicago and when I requested my relocube to be delivered at Chicago, they told me that they do not service this zip code (60609: Bridgeport neighborhood) and that I have to now rent a U-haul and unpack my relocube myself. This company is laughable, I will never use them again. I spend $1600 for them to be rude to me in person and on the phone, I don't think so.

The best of do-it-yourself moving
by larryj707 ,Aug 12 '08
Pros: Trailer was delivered to origin residence on time, drivers were efficient and friendly. Cons: Trailer was very dirty on delivery.
As someone who worked in every phase of the moving industry for over 26 years, I can say that my U-Pack experience went quite well. I am fortunate to have a son who did most of the pre-packing. Since I have not relocated my family in 24 years, we were apprehensive, to say the least, but U-Pack delivered on all their promises, even going so far as to deliver the trailer to our new residence on a Saturday to facilitate our needs.
Everyone I dealt with in the move was helpful and maintained good contact with me as to the progress of the trailer's movement to the new house..
Use caution when planning your space needs. You should either be or hire a professional loader to get your goods in the space U-Pack states you will need. Most everyday people will use more space that they thought they would use.
Overall a positive experience.

Great Job !!
by lindas062808 ,Mar 28 '08
Pros: I have recommended ABF to my friends and I would definitely use them again. Cons: None
I moved last October from San Diego, CA to Columbus, IN. Moving can be stressful and it wonderful not to worry about my household goods. From the first phone call to the last, from California to Indiana, from the office staff to the truck drivers, they were all very professional and extremely courteous.

Great Experience
by vette61 ,Apr 14 '05
Pros: Good price, no worries about driving a rental truck. Cons: Kind of dirty inside, steep ramp.
We saved 3x by going with ABF than a moving company. Sure, it's hard work but that never hurt anyone. I was way off on my estimated space that I needed but after 36 years of marriage you accumalate alot of stuff. We actually used 23 feet of the 28 foot truck and it was packed to the ceiling. The truck was delivered on time and picked up in on time by real nice drivers. Only minor damage was found on some of the furniture because of the shifting around. If you want to save big bucks use ABF, get plenty of help and use blankets to go against the side of the truck and any furniture or it will rub against it. Beware that the ramp is really steep and four wheel furniture dollies will not go up due to the ramp surface, two wheel dollies are no problem. My total cost was around $2,800 moving from Fresno, CA to Ft. Worth, Tx.

New Mexico Move
by ieschultz1945 ,Mar 12 '08
Pros: Saved on gas, didn't have to drive an extra vehicle, informative and courteous people Cons: Can't think of any
My husband, son and I moved from the mid-west to New Mexico and after researching several different methods of transporting our belongings, ABF U-Pack was by far the best deal. Every employee I spoke with was very courteous and informative. The rates were within our budget and the best part was, we not only didn't have to drive, but we saved money on gas. I will, and have, recommended ABF U-Pack to friends.

Convenient and Affordable
by werkhead ,Sep 11 '08
Pros: price, transit time, they drive, pay for only the space you use Cons: you load -- must do so carefully.
I moved from Michigan to NYC, and required a "live unload" and guaranteed delivery date and time. Not only was the company communicative throughout the whole process (origin and destination terminals), but they were friendly too! For the price, this service is really great. The only drawback I found was that my stuff had shifted quite a bit during transit. I take full responsibility for it -- just a warning to those considering u-pack services: load carefully and thoughtfully, and secure your load! (Despite all the shifting, none of my stuff was significantly damaged.) For my next move, I'll definitely use ABF U-Pack again.

Move from MO to FL
by dawn4444 ,Nov 23 '05
Pros: No driving, same price. Load & unload over 2+ days. Cons: Parking oversized trailer for 2+ days
I'm very impressed with ABF. Origin and destination service centers set appointments and showed up on time. Online tracking was useful. Trailer was clean and spacious. A moving truck rental including gas cost the same, but I wouldve had to drive. I would definitely use them again.
Everything arrived to Miami in great condition. I expected things to shift around inside the trailer so I loaded very carefully and tied everything down well. It worked because everything was exactly where I had left it when I closed the partition. It must have been a smooth ride because inside a box was a bowl of paperclips without a lid that did not spill. I prevented marks and damage to furniture by covering with blankets and securing with plastic shipping wrap (Office Depot $30/rl). I definitely needed the ramp for loading but not for unloading.

ABF-highly recommended!!!
by day_rog ,Aug 21 '07
Pros: Timely, friendly, cost effective! Cons: Installation of the bulk head was tricky and a little heavy.
We had moved from PA to FL last week and utilized ABF's services. I was a little hesitant with all moving companies in general due to the horror stories I heard about hidden charges, delayed shipments, and costly damages. Well, from the first call to reserve the 28ft trailer to drop off, 1 day earlier than expected, everything went without a hitch! The drivers were very friendly and the dispatchers were great. It was very conveinent to track the trailer on-line and there were no damages to any of my items. When I received my bill, it was exactly as it was described. There were no hidden charges and it was perfect! I would highly recomend their service without a doubt! Great company!!!!

ABF U Pack Moving was Awesome
by texasdreamer1 ,Jan 04 '06
Pros: Friendly Staff and Very Affordable with no Problems!!!!! Cons: I have no Cons.... These guys were Awesome!!!!!!
I have not ever moved as an adult out of state on my own, So I went to the internet and started pulling up moving vans. I found ABF. The price was great and affordable. So I booked and here I am in my new home with nothing broken. My things traveled from Texas to Nevada and not one thing was broken. I have to say that every single ABF person I came in contact with was the nicest people that I have ever come in contact with. I work in a hospital so customer service is important to me. WOW!!!!! These people are the friendliest, outgoing people that I have ever talked to. Right down to the drivers. I want to Thank ABF U Pack for making my moving experience a great less painful.
