I shipped a Jeep Cherokee from Seattle to Raleigh, NC with DAS. The entire experience was fantastic. I was very scared to have a car shipped because i have heard that a lot of these companies are disreputable. DAS gave me the lowest quote I got of $1034 terminal to terminal with a 2 week approximation for delivery (this includes the $88 for extra insurance). Their online tracking is awesome. My Jeep was dropped off on a Monday and I picked it up on the following Saturday. The actual transit was 4 days. It was in great shape, not dirty on the inside at all. The outside had a drop of oil on the hood, and they offered to wash it, but I said it was fine. I highly recommend this company for anybody who is moving a car.

Pros: It did finally get here in one piece.

I purchased a Ford Excursion off eBay.

Dependable's rate was good and the entire pickup was scheduled & coordinated by the dealer in Texas.

Online tracking worked well, however....
It took 4 weeks to transport the vehicle from Texas to Utah. The vehicle sat at their Mesquite terminal for 3 weeks.

I made 13 calls to customer service. The longest hold time was 1 hour and 40 minutes and the shortest hold time was 26 minutes.

We paid extra for the large vehicle size, but Dependable decided to place the vehicle on the back burner and took it off the delivery truck 7 different times before finally getting it shipped from Mesquite to Salt Lake City.

Pros: Can't seem to find any.
Cons: Stated previously.

My car sat 5 days in Taylor,Mi. before being driven to Chicago to sit AGAIN..waiting to be sent to L.A.
They will sweet talk you and tell you what you want to hear..once they have your vehicle they have a "captive audience" and you are screwed.Many customer service calls produced repeatedly rude people who's attitude was "take it or leave it".

I HIGHLY encourage you to look ANYWHERE else for a carrier.

I made my decision to ship with DAS after reviewing the reviews left on this site as well as others and I must say that I am VERY happy with DAS. There are so many horror stories out there about companies that ship cars that I was very concerned. The salesman that I talked with was friendly and courteous. When I had questions about their service, their customer service department was very kind and helpful. My car arrived on time and in the same condition that it was in when I dropped it off. Thank you DAS, I will recommend you to anyone who needs to move a car.

I purchased a Camaro Z-28 off e-bay on 01/06/04. It arrived at the DAS terminal in Miami on 1/7/04. The car needed to be shipped from Miami to Denver. I spoke with a Janice at DAS. She was extremely nice and very helpful. She told me it would be approximately 21 days because of the holiday backlog. I was a little disappointed at the time frame, but there was nothing I could do but wait. I was so surprised on Monday 1/12/04 when I entered the tracking number and discovered it was in Colorado. I was able to pick it up that afternoon. It came in much soon than expected and in excellent shape. I would use DAS again.

Please do not make the mistake I did and use this company. I picked DAS because I wanted an established,known shipper but I regret it now!
My car took nearly a month to arrive (they promised 10-14 after I expressly told them I needed it ASAP for a job which was why I went with them) My car stayed in a depot for a week. I tried to track it using the online tracker which is complete B.S. and not accurate despite its 24 hour real time claim. 10 days went by, 14, 20 and no sign of my car. I called them 3 times, each time I had to wait about 20 min on hold and the customer service rep who probably did not have a GED kept repeating what was obviously a company written statement regarding late cars over and over every time I made a comment. It was kind of scary. She would not say anything other that what was clearly written out for her in her book.
Please, do not make the mistake I did. If you need to have a car shipped and want it in a reasonable time find another company.

I just got my car today. I waited 20 days for it to arrive from Miami, FL. I'm in NYC so the wait was no big deal. They called when they said they would call, arrived when they said they would arrive. I have no issues at all. The car arrived just as it left, clean, shiny and no new marks or scratches. I believed they washed it too. The tracking system was superb, worked without a hitch and was 100% accurate. I even left money in the glove compartment, and it was still there when my car arrived!

A word of advice: If they say they will call you, just wait on them. If you try to track them down by calling them, you will waste your time on hold.

I had my doubts with negative reviews here, but the car I shipped from Minden LA to Gardena CA, an MGA convertible, arrived ahead of time in perfect condition. Everyone was helpful, the tracking service was fine, and the guy at the receiving depot in Gardena even helped tighten my steering wheel.

This is one of the worst shippers out there. I contracted with these people to have my car picked up in VA and hauled out to So. Cal. they said 14 days, today is day 12 and the car is sitting at their terminal in NJ. Don't trust these people to be timely. once they have your money (all up front) you are not a customer anymore.

I am hoping that the car will not have damage when received.

Been 5 weeks and still waiting for our car. Car sat in their terminal in New Jersey for 3 weeks and last time i called the car is sitting somewhere in Nevada. Who knows how long and i'm not sure if it's really in Nevada. Already spent $400 on a rental car. Will return the rental tomorrow and just take the bus. DAS don't care since they're already paid. Avoid them at all cost. THEY SUCK !!!!

I shipped a car for the first time, from illinois to arizona. I was very nervous because of all the bad reviews and I finally chose dependable auto shippers.
Their price was higher than most of the other quotes I got. I chose the additional insurance for an extra $100. I decided to spend more money and go with them, just to be on the safe side.
I dropped my car off on a saturday at their terminal (i chose the terminal to terminal option). I was quoted an estimated 14 days for delivery. My car reached the destination terminal by thursday next week! It took just five days. I was pleasantly surprised. I picked the car up at their arizona terminal and they had it washed for me and it looked fine.
Ofcourse, I got lucky with the transit time. Usually, the actual time it takes to move your car is low, probably 2 to 3 days. Most of the waiting time is spent at the terminal, so that the shippers can get a full truck load of cars. Luckily for me, they probably had enough cars moving from illinois for them to immediately ship it.

My story is much like the rest of the "showed up very late" stories. My car sat at the departure terminal until 3 days PAST the ETA. The car finally arrived 7 days late. I e-mailed customer service the day before the car arrived to ask them where the pick-up point is located. I received a reply 5 days later...4 days after I picked up the car. I found out where the car was after it arrived and the drop off location called me. Their customer service reps say I will get compensated for the delay in arrival (7 Days late), but I call and leave messages that never get returned. Finally, after several hours on the phone, here's the compensation package: They feel that it is OK to arrive up to 3 days late. They compensated me $20 per day thereafter. If they go over 3 days late on your shipment, call them up and get them to pay up!!! Perhaps, if enough customers cost them some money, they will at least be more accurate on their ETA.

I dropped off my car in Philadelphia, and it arrived in California right on time, cleaner (on the outside), than when I left it. It was in great shape, and I had no trouble picking it up.

I dropped off my car on Oct. 17, and they told me there was a two week travel window. They have online tracking, so I was able to track the car throughout the process from their site. It remained at the destination terminal for a whole week, until October 25. Finally, it was loaded and made it across the country in 4 days, arriving 2 days ahead of schedule.

Overall a very positive experience. I went to DAS because of the reviews here, and the experience was quite good.
