Pros: cheap price. on time delivery. nice service on both ends.

Car was shipped from CA to VA without any damage. Car arrived on time and DAS called me on the estimated arrival day to inform me the car is available for pickup. The car is a bit dirty but they washed the car before giving it to me.

Pros: None. They would make perfect company for Satan.
Cons: BUYER BEWARE. LIARS, LIARS, LIARS. They will also cuss you out.

I was promised delivery in one week. Now they are saying 19 days with no promises. They even admit they originally told me one week. They never told me they were going to subcontract the job but they did. Their website says you can track your shipment online but it doesn't tell you that when they subcontract, you aren't able to track. Their Director, James Martin, of Dependable Auto Shippers told me today that he didn't have time to talk to me anymore about my complaint and that my car would get here when it gets here and to just be thankful. He also told me I didn't know anything about the shipping business. (Why should I?)He refused to tell me who above him I could complain to. They will not tell me where my car is either. I had wanted to meet the carrier and get my car off of it now. For all I know, my car could be stolen.

Pros: Professional, courteous, on-time, web-savvy, reliable, nice.
Cons: Not the cheapest, local pickup/delivery partners not as communicative as DAS

I have used DAS to move my 58/59 Edsels and 62 Chrysler several times. I have always found them to be competitively priced, helpful, and honest. Even the local firms they work with to do the "last mile" pickup and delivery have always been helpful.

Once my car arrived without the trunk key and they immediately dispatched a locksmith to replace they key (and lock if needed). But then I found the key in the seats, so it was a minor thing in the end. Still, they offered to make it right without an argument.

Another time the local delivery firm disconnected a cotter pin in my transmission (battery had gone dead and the car has an electronically-controlled push button transmission). This was the right thing for them to do, though I wish they had told me first. Still, this is not DAS' fault and again was a minor issue.

I would opt for "top load" if you can since some cars above will leak fluids on the lower cars.

My cars are daily drivers so I don't worry about them too much in transit. But DAS has always treated them well.

I highly recommend them.

Pros: I can't think of any, I will investigate using a better company.

This company seemed to have a decent reputation, so I gave it a try. It took over 3 weeks to travel three thousand miles. All supervisors, operators, etc were giving me different excuses on why my car hadn't arrived by it's eta, but they all had different stories. Their "real time satellite tracking system" is really only radio communication between drivers. They seem to stress customer service a lot, which is great, however they can't keep up with their promises and have to lie to keep up with them. The worst experience customer service wise in my life.

Pros: Price..YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
Cons: 1. No truth in advertising 2. Tracking system is antiquated

I will never use this company again. I paid for expedited service and was basically sold a bag of "goods." The sales person promised that my vehicle would arrive in six days or less and that I would receive a phone call 24 hours prior to its arrival. As of this writing on 12/6/07 @ 8am PST, I have yet to hear from anyone. I have contacted their customer service department several times to only be told that the company really can't guarantee when the vehicle will actually arrive. Additionally, the customer service representative completely contradicted their salesperson by explaining that the six day promise meant possibly arriving at their facility; however, the vehicle still might not be ready for delivery. A little truth in advertising would have been greatly appreciated and would have eliminated any and all confusion in this matter.

Pros: Clean, quick service - option to drop off/pickup from DAS locations good tracking facilities
Cons: 1> Minor irritant- cars not washed before delivery

I had a good auto move with DAS. I moved from Texas to Mass for $700. The car was delivered without hassles in 10 days.
There were two tiny paint chips on the rear bumper but I guess I could live with that.

I picked DAS based on the opinions expressed on this site and I am here to do my bit for future opinion seekers.

Pros: Efficient moving company you can get quotes from with multiple distribution centers.
Cons: The whole auto shipping industry is antiquated.

I recently bought a Mercedes on E-Bay and needed a way to get it from Oklahoma to California. DAS was actually very helpful and efficient, after reading nightmare stories about car shipping I braced myself. The car arrived without a scratch and no issues. I also shipped a 15 passenger van once; the van was slightly damaged in shipping - the bumper needed replacing, they handled it ASAP, I had a claims representative out in about 3 days and a check was cut the next week!

Pros: ON TIME, LOW COST, EASY PICK UP AT SECURE LOCAL TOWING SERVICE.
Cons: ther are no cons that i experienced and im very satisfied with the service, thx

Do you think if you drove your car across the country in all kinds of weather and traffic your auto wouldn't get a ding a scratch or possible more. When DAS does cause extensive damage they dam sure should take care of it but moaning about little scratch or dirt or chip...gimme a break.

MY 98 500SL Benz showed up from NY to Oklahoma in one week, after ebay purchase. Great shape, and I'll trade a chip or scratch for this type of service. Nice job DAS, THANKS

if you care if your car is treated well find another auto shipper, these people are absolutely terrible, the drivers dont care about your car, the customer service doesnt care, my car was driven on the lot by joy riders and arrived with scratches all over the hood and roof, dont believe the positive feedback, its from company employees

Pros: friendly sales men, although they are not helpful when you file a claim.

My front windshield glass was damaged! And they treated me like they wasn't sorry about it. It is my car, and I had to drive it with the windshield broken which could be dangerous when I picked it up at a terminal. I submitted a claim to get reimbursement, we'll see how fast and reliable the service is.

When they took my credit card info they told me 2 to 3 days. When I received my email confirmation, it said 14 days. I paid for covered shipping, the car was filthy and full of road salt. They lied.

Pros: Vehicle arrived a week early.  Good communication and no damage!

After reading the reviews on this site, I was expecting problems.  I was surprised that my vehicle arrived a week ahead of time with no damage.  It was also spotlessly clean which leads me to believe that they did actually put it in an enclosed carrier as promised.  I paid for the extra enclosed carrier, door to door service, and the additional damage coverage.  The vehicle was transported from the L.A. area to Virginia.

Pros: Absolutely none, DO NOT USE DAS!!!
Cons: Everything, not a single positive thing to say.

DAS is everything but dependable. I will keep it breif, but like many others I had a dreadful experience.

First: The price I was quoted was 30% less than what I was billed. I believe this would be considered fraudulent.

Second: My vehicle was delivered THREE weeks late. I simply cannot believe they set an expectation and break it over and over again. DO NOT USE DAS!!!

Third: The tracking system, I don't think it exists.

Fourth: Customer service is a joke. If you plan on getting someone on the line be prepared to wait a VERY long time.

Fifth: You will have an extremely difficult time getting money back from these clowns for damage, stupidity, timeliness, etc. DO NOT USE DAS!!!

Pros: CSR's nice. Called back as promised. Car arrived safely, tracking worked.
Cons: The delay but they made it right without hesitation.

Recently hired DAS to move a classic 1972 Cuda from California to SC. Car was 9 days late but arrived safely albeit a little dusty, and in great condition. I know they used the enclosed carrier and top loaded it as ordered because I saw it come in thanks to the GPS tracking which worked well on my move. Kevin (my CSR) helped me stay calm and they VOLUNTARILY on THEIR own accord adjusted the cost due to the delay and issued what I feel to be a reasonable credit. Nothing of this nature is perfect but I feel that they did work with me and I would use them again.

Pros: On time pick up Timely delivery
Cons: Hold time for service is was a little long

I recently had DAS ship my vehicle and these guys were not only the best price in town, they picked it up on the date promise and arrived within 1 day of the estimated transit time.

I had talked to a broker before and it was a little scary - as a matter of fact the DAS website warned me about the pitfalls in using a broker.

I am thankful I used DAS!
