DAS Did Excellent Job

I used DAS to ship an eBay purchased Mazda MX-5 from Dartmouth MA to Houston TX. After reading the reviews here I was real uncertain what to expect -- they seemed to be either great or poor. When the order was placed they already knew the car had to be top load because of the convertible top. I used depot to depot service. I was quoted an estimated delivery date which they beat by 5 days. The car arrived with no spots on the cloth roof so it must have been on top. I was able to follow the progress of the car using the web site tracking feature. They called it was ready to pick at at depot about 2 hours after tracking said it was in town. Would use again myself and highly recommend!

I shipped my 740IL BMW from TX to CA. It took nearly 20 days and the car arrived damaged on the hood and undercarriage. Beware and stay away from Dep. Auto Shippers.

I am a small dealer in East Texas and I buy and sell cars all over the US. I started using Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS) approximately 1 year ago and have had nothing but excellent service from them. They always go out of their way to accomodate my customers as well as my schedule. They have terminals in every major city in the US which is very convenient for my customers no matter where they are. DAS even has an International division that helped me get 1 vehicle to the Middle East. I have shipped 10 cars in the last year, and there was only 1 minor issue with scheduling of a delivery, but otherwise they have been a tremendous help and executed the transportation of these vehicles flawlessly.

Cons: Roadblocks that prevent you from talking to anyone after they get your car.
I gave this company my wife's new 45k car to be shipped on April 10th. It has not made it to the destination as of May 6th. It (supposedly by the tracking system) has been sitting 135 miles away from the destination for SIX (and counting) DAYS! When I try to call customer service I wait an average of 20 minutes for a live person. I spoke to a customer service rep, "Tera" and when she looked up my car she gasped and said she had to call her supervisor. When given her extension and told to call back in 15 minutes there was no answer. I started the process all over again and when I got to customer service they said call back tomorrow. Two days later I cannot get an answer and my car is still there...I just hope it is not damaged (I shipped it covered supposedly), lost or stolen.

Cons: they did not always answer the phone with track your car.
I was very concerned using these guys to transport my car after reading other reviews, but looked at other companies and noticed they all had bad reviews aswell. I had a great experience with these guys. My car arrived Florida to Seattle, no problems, on time(early actually). So here is a good review. I would trust this company again, came in cheapest, quickest, and I am happy :-) Thought it was time to give credit where credit was due.

I was wary of shipping my 2002 Saturn from Florida to California, but after reading Epinions from others, I decided to take the plunge with DAS and am thankful that I did.

I elected to drop off the car at their Delray Beach facility. The staff was courteous and efficient and I was their for maybe 20 minutes while they took photos of the vehicle and processed the paperwork. On the advice of a friend, I sprung for the extra bucks to guarantee top load. The online tracking worked well and the car even showed up ahead of schedule in the same condition it left Florida.

I received a phone call from a DAS representative advising me that the car was ready for pickup from their California facility. Actually, I received several calls, as I was unable to pickup the car immediately. This is important, as a storage fee is charged if the car stays at their facility more than 5 days.

All in all, it was a fabulous experience. I highly recommend them.

15 days and still no car

Pros: I'll wait until I get my car
Cons: Don't be in a hurry, so far not dependable
They said 14 days, 7-9 at origin (they didn't lie about that). What gets me is that my car has been sitting 12 hours away from me for the past 5 days (today will be 6). They assured me that once the car was loaded that it would be on route and arrive within 3-4 days! It seems they move the cars based on their convenience of having a loaded truck.

Cons: No Cons, very happy.
DAS was great. They shipped my car from Florida to Oregon. Was due to arrive in Oregon on Sept. 15th, but it got here on Sept 7th. How is that for service. Car got here in perfect condition and they even washed it for me, before I picked it up.

Still waiting - a week beyond their estimate

Pros: Dependable - Ha ha. Cheapest when going terminal to terminal.
Cons: Only use these guys if you are not incurring any costs for their 'estimates'.
Bumbling representatives. Calls get through right away to sales, be prepared for long hold times for tracking/customer service. They estimated 2 weeks for shipping terminal to terminal from New Jersey to Lousiana. It's been 3 already, and I'm still getting 'estimates' for delivery. Estimates are just that - 'bunch of baloney'. No one seems to be able to take charge and do anything besides 'revise' the estimates. Literally - the just change the estimated date every day. They claim bad weather - did my research, and there was none at the times they claimed.

Car sat for 10 days at drop off, a couple days in someplace in AL, and has been in TX for the past 7 days. By now, my rental car costs have come close to the cost of some of the other bids I got. And based on some of the other reviews here - am now praying for the car to arrive undamaged.

Lesson learnt. Cheapest is not always the best.

A thoroughly unpleasant experience with DAS. Opted for them b/c they were able to pick car up within 2 days. They didn't tell me it would sit in a lot in NJ exposed to the falling snow for a week! They did tell me I'd be able to track my car from their website, NOT! All the tracking did was tell me the car was enroute, and the "expected" time I should receive it, (it was 3 days late.) My car came delivered filthy dirty, and full of rock chips in the paint, and two brand new door dings! The are making me jump through hoops to file a damage claim. In summary, shipment was OVERPRICED, car was LATE and DAMAGE RIDDEN, DAS website is LACKING FUNCTIONAL TRACKING ABILITY, DAS CUSTOMER SERVICE is a NIGHTMARE! When dealing with any claim. They are pleased as punch to give you rate quotes and book your move though. As well as make promises like yes your car will be safe, on time, and you can easily use our website to track the real time status of your move NOT! Lastly, they are only responsible for $250 of ANY claim!

These guys are the worst I have ever dealt with. Shipped car from Philly to LA on Dec 9...promised on December 26. December 26 came and went...they then promised January 2nd....came and went. They then promised January 9th...came and went. They then assured me it would be here January 12th...came and went. Now they say January 14th...your guess is as good as mine. Are they lying this time? Who knows...they hardly ever return email or phone calls and never update tracking on their website. I only hope our car arrives without any damage. I'll update the review then....

Horrible service...NEVER would use again.

I paid for my car to be expedited because I needed to get the car here in time for my wife's birthday. They had a week to get it here. 5 days into the process I called to check the status and it HADN'T even loaded yet!!!! Their excuse: the truck was in the shop (they have over a thousand trucks, but apparently this was the only one available????). They assured me it would still get here on time. On her birthday they said it was in Oklahoma (1,000 miles away). Needless to say, the car didn't arrive on her birthday. I called the next day and the car was in Texas again?! They claimed that the truck broke down in Oklahoma and had to be brought back to Texas. Well, a dozen phone calls and a week later the car arrived. They reimbursed me some money after I kicked and screamed to a manager's manager. VERY FRUSTRATING.

Cons: Don't be in a hurry to connect to a service rep, or for your car.
I chose "Dependable Auto Shippers" because of the positive reviews. (Yes, I read the negatives also.) And, I figured that a company that's been in business 50 years must be doing something right.
My car arrived 1 week later than the estimate, but it was in perfect condition. I was called prior to the delivery and given a 3 hour window (10 AM to 1 PM). The driver arrived at 10:10 AM!
Calling "Dependable" can be frustrating, but once I was connected to a customer service representative I was treated with respect and in a friendly manner. I was given information as to where my car was, and how long I was going to have to wait before my car would be delivered.
I guess that nothing is exactly the way we'd like it to be, and this wasn't that bad.
I'd use "Dependable Auto Shippers" again.

Cons: 1. The only thing that did not work as promised was the tracking function.
I used Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS) to ship a 2000 Nissan Maxima from a Los Angeles suburb to a Chicago suburb three weeks ago. The only options I chose was their insurance and door to door pick-up and delivery. I was a bit hesitant to use them after reading some of the reviews here. But I figured that the car I was shipping wasn't worth the cost of shipping it with a premium shipper, which was twice the price.

I called on a Tuesday morning around 9:30AM. They were able to pick up the car on Tuesday at 12PM, ONLY 2.5 HOURS LATER! They promised me three week delivery. The car got to there in 1.5 weeks. The car was clean when it arrived.

I shipped my Civic from California to Massachusetts and purchased an enclosed carrier and paid for the vehicle to be on the top level. The car arrived late and with an incredible number of dings and dents as well as deep gouges on the roof of the vehicle. There was damage done on nearly every part of the vehicle. It looked as if something had been dragged along the roof as the scratches went all the way from the front to the rear. It also appeared that another vehicle hit the rear bumper.
