I just had a car shipped from Boston to Minnesota. They told me it would take 10 days to ship my car. Well it took 15 days. they had no clue where my car was and the customer service sucks.

Also, DAS employees stole items from my car. A radar detector, and a DC power outlet, and a car vac.
These idiots stole my car items, and told me too bad, it was my fault for leaving anything in the car.

They have thieves working for them, and tell you tough luck after they steal your stuff.

Do not use this company, unless you want a bad experience.

This company damaged my brand new car because of their carelessness. Over $2000.00 in damages that they have yet to send me a check for (going on 3 months) Car was suppose to be shipped in a sealed container but was extremely dirty when received as well as having body damage. The interior was dirty as well. Special arrangements were made with the sales dept. to make sure the shipment would go without incident but this did not help. I would never use or recommend this company to anyone and am very disappointed with the whole process including their claims service.

Pros: Quick and easy to book. Salesperson was friendly person dropping off the car was nice.
Cons: Check with docks to see when next ship leaves to reduce waiting time.

I dropped off the car at the docks and they treated me very well.

After payment, you do not hear anything from the salesperson but they give you a number to call if you need help.

I did not expect much from the service, but there are only two services here, so it was a 50/50 chance. I compared with the other service which had similar rates. This site almost made me not go with this company but I tried it anyway.

The car arrived in Georgia in good condition. It took a little long to arrive, but it was reasonable.

Cons: Dented a brand new car.

Salesman quoted 3 days driving time and 5-7 days total from pickup. It took 3 times that long, arrived dented and scratched and all I heard was how they only are liable for $150.

They can keep the $150 and choke on it. Took so long to get to us that our temporary insurance expired and we now are not covered.

Refused any responsibility. Offered to pay $150 and said that was all they were liable for.

They crushed in the roof of the car by lowering the hydraulic truck ramps onto the car roof causing about $1000 of damage. Then they claim they are not liable because I did not purchase their exorbitant insurance coverage which equates to an annual $2500 to $5000 rate for the one to two weeks transit time. This is just plain gross negligence on their part and not road debris or a hail storm. I have had success with other shippers and will never go back to DAS again. Since they don't seem to be liable for anything maybe they'll start running the cars through a car crusher before loading so they can get more of them loaded onto one truckload. My auto insurance will cover this but they shouldn't have to.

I contracted with DAS because of very favorable comments frmo several local owners, and because they had the lowest Quote ($706 Terminal-to-Terminal). The quote I rec'd said it was valid until 9-7-05. I called to place the order and was sent a document, but this document stated the total cost was going to be $825. I called and asked what was going on, and was told they added a Fuel Surcharge of $50. I reminded them that the difference was actually $119, and that the form said the quote was valid until 9-7 (it was 8-26 when I tried to place the order). I was told I would be sent another form with a reduced rate, but it wouldn't be $706. I waite da few days and never rec'd the new form, so I went with another company, Able Auto Transport, and got Door-to-Door service for $749. The car was picked up two days after I placed my order, and was delivered 5 days after that!
I was very disappointed in DAS, especially considering the favorable comments I had heard from others locally.

I used this company for a Las Vegas to LA car ship and the car arrived badly damaged in LA (front end totally smashed). Clearly they didn't secure the vehicle well enough to the carrier. Accidents happen but DAS did not take care of this issue. They had me deal directly with their subcontractor in LA and 5 months later, my insurance is STILL dealing with the other shipper's insurance. DAS ultimately holds responsibility as the contract is between myself and DAS but they completely passed the buck to the subcontractor. I don't recommend this company for these reasons.

My experience with DAS was very good. I appreciated the many pricing options they offer. It kept my auto transport move very inexpensive because I chose just basic service. It would have cost me more to drive it there myself. Also appreciated the fact that there were no charges if I backed out of my reservation at any time.

My car arrived one day beyond estimated arrival but I was notified of that delay (bridge collapse in Bay Area)via internet tracking. Could track it all the way down here and was able to call destination point and pick it up one hour after it arrived. Friendly 'trucker' service throughout. Car arrived unscathed--they even washed it for me before pickup.

Would definitely use again. I felt I was in good hands. No complaints.

Cons: Delivery was over a week late than promised

Top Ten for using DAS Autoshippers

1. My car arrived over a week later than promised.
2. It was not scratched, dented or dinged.
3. The car was washed.
4. Get an online quote on their website, cheaper that calling and getting a quote( tell them you were quoted cheaper, even if you weren't ).
5. Online tracking "Useless."
6. Car sat for 2 weeks at drop-off terminal, delivered over a week later than promised.
7. For cheaper costs, drop off your car at their terminals, and pick up the car at one of their terminals.
8. Customer service rep was good while booking delivery.
9. Calling in on customer service line, after the fact ( took 20 mins ) but at least they let you know how many people are in front of you waiting ( 31 when i called ).
10. Number to call in and hold for 20 minutes, to find out why your car is still sitting where you dropped it off 2 weeks before is an 800 number :)

Pros: My move requirements were specific and Dependable Auto Shippers handled them nicely.
Cons: Sometimes a bit longer than expected waits on customer service line.

The attention paid to my questions was prompt and exceeded my expectations. I really appreciated what I considered to be personal attention to my move and a real caring attitude from the Company. My rep was very 'east coast' (hurried, not overly friendly or out-of-your-way helpful) but my car arrived in Denver, CO in perfect condition 10 days after drop-off in St. Pete, FL. We have another car to ship and will use DAS again. Do yourself a favor and splurge for the extra insurance coverage.

I shipped two maserati's with them in May 2007 - they sub-contracted it out to chicago auto transport (even worse than these bums) and the car was driven after I pad $1,995 for it to be shipped enclosed. YES they drove my $130,000 car! Unreal. once your car is shipped you can never get anyone on the phone. Don't call the person who gave you a quote because they can't help or transfer you. You are better off hiring a homeless person to drive your car. Here is the other part - they take my maserati from Florida to Chicago and its 3 weeks and Jessica at Ext 5171 keeps placing me on hold and never picking up again. There are no managers to talk to either. they have NO idea where the car is. These people are the WORST I have ever experienced. This time they messed with the wrong person because I wont go away quietly

Do not use these guys if you ever want to see your car. They will lie and could care less when you receive your car. Thus far I have no idea when the car will be picked up even though it is well over 2 weeks late. Customer service is a joke, as is their tracking system. Lastly, they say they will compensate me once I receive my car but could not give any examples of what with. Could be a bag of skittles for all I know. A word of advice, pay a little more and go with a more "dependable" service. These guys are horrible. One last thing, try calling customer service. You'll be placed on hold behind 10 or more people just as aggravated as yourself.

After reading reviews I was hesitant to ship my car with ANY shipper, but chose Dependable which seemed to be the best of the lot. Dependable was about 1/2 the price of many competitors so I didn't mind purchasing extra insurance (which was unnecessary - no damage) and the car was shipped in less than 10 days. No problems, excellent service.
