FAST
by torav ,Dec 14 '04
Pros: Fast, great price. Cons: No problems.
After reading reviews I was hesitant to ship my car with ANY shipper, but chose Dependable which seemed to be the best of the lot. Dependable was about 1/2 the price of many competitors so I didn't mind purchasing extra insurance (which was unnecessary - no damage) and the car was shipped in less than 10 days. No problems, excellent service.

Absolutely AWFUL!
by chunkaway ,Aug 14 '06
Pros: None. Cons: Where do I start? Lied, arrogant, deceptive, reckless, etc...
I had DAS ship my Mazda Miata from Portland, OR to Alexandria, VA. When it arrived-8 days late- the front end was smashed (and I mean demolished. Over $2000 in damage!) DAS claimed no responsibility at all! They said that since I didn't "buy" the "extra" insurance it wasn't their problem. Now keep in mind, I was NEVER told about "extra" insurance. On their paperwork, they claim that they are expected to take "proper care" of the vehicle while in their possession, which as the salesperson explained to me, meant preventing damage from occurring to the vehicle. Evidently smashing the front of your car is well within the realm of "proper care". The customer service people were horrific. The gentleman I spoke with about the damage to my vehicle was the most arrogant person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. This was definitely the worst experience I have ever had with ANY company.

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE
by kim4tkd ,May 13 '04
Pros: professional, timely, good tracker, good value Cons: have to wait on the phone 20 minutes to talk to customer service
I bought a Volkswagen Jetta located in California, and had it shipped to my home in Michigan. Before scheduling a pickup with DAS, I went on this very website and read all of the Epinions. There were quite a few bad ones, and I was almost scared away. I'M SO GLAD I WASN'T. My car was picked up on time, and was delivered only one day late. When it arrived here, it was in perfect condition. There was still gas in the tank, nothing had been thrown out or removed from the interior, and there were no new nicks or scratches. Now, when dealing with something like this, you have to realize that there will be inconveniences (i.e. the car arriving one day late; being on hold for 20 minutes on the customer service line, etc.) But the bottom line was that my car arrived safely, timely, and unharmed. Also, it only cost me $525.00 to ship across the country. Everywhere else was quoting me $900. They were very professional the whole way. THANK YOU DAS!!

No problems
by toonda ,Mar 28 '07
Pros: best price, option to drop off/pick up or pick up/delivery of vehicle. Cons: none.
DAS gave me the cheapest quote because it saved me $200 by letting me drop off my car at the local terminal and pick it up at the destination terminal. I had no problem at drop off or pick up. They quoted me 18 days and it came in about 10 days. I was able to track it online and received a call the morning it arrived here. They washed the car and I didn't notice any damage to the vehicle.

Great service and cheaper than anyone else.
by mikhail1973 ,Apr 10 '07
Pros: Fast
Reliable
Online Updates Cons: Not very organized
I had DAS move my Nissan Quest. I took their terminal-to-terminal service since it was by far the cheapest. Five days after I dropped off my car at the drop off location I went online and the message I got was - waiting for the vehicle to be dropped off. I called DAS, they got in touch with the location and confirmed that car was indeed there and told me not to worry that the time estimate they gave me is still good. The car got to the destination two days earlier than promised. I received a call from the terminal the next morning after the car arrived. The car was in perfect condition and they even washed it. I would recommend this company to anyone.

DAS are thieves
by pgirdher ,Mar 27 '07
Pros: nothing. Cons: My stuff was missing from my trunk. they are thieves.
I got my car after 23 days. It was supposed to be delivered in 14. I paid extra for top load but when it was delivered it was on the bottom. Stuff was missing from my trunk, 2 coats, 1 bedspread and a bag of clothes were all missing. Missing items incurred me a loss of $500. I was very disappointed and shocked. They told me 75 pounds of stuff can be put in the trunk. I did not know it had a very good chance of getting stolen.

Incompetent Shippers! Damaged & Late
by lormet ,Jul 04 '07
Pros: Bad Service, Misleading Insurance, Negligent Transport! Cons: Yes, they are cons. Con Artists!
I should have checked this website first. My Car is damaged and their responsibility is $150.00 The vehicle arrived 21 days later (11 days late) This company is horrible. It just confirms that e-bay will outsource itself to anyone who pay for the sponsorship.

Excellent Experience!
by david526 ,Feb 22 '08
Pros: Arrived 5 days early, excellent tracking system Cons: NONE!
I purchased a car on eBay that was located in West Sacramento, CA the first week of Feb, 2008. It was dropped off by the dealer at the Rancho Cordova terminal in Sacramento on February 12th. I was told it could sit on the lot there for 7-9 days with an overall estimated time of arrival on February 27th in Pittsburgh, PA. The car began moving only 2 days on the lot, and crossed the entire country at a rate of 2-3 states a day! The tracking system worked flawless for me, updating as often as every half hour. Today is February 22nd and my car has just arrived at the terminal here in Pittsburgh, five days sooner than expected! I chose terminal to terminal service, and only paid $640. There are so many bad reviews here on Epinions so I had to add my very positive experience. I recommend DAS to everybody!

DEPENDABLE Auto Shippers / False Advertisement
by vicdanis ,Mar 03 '08
Pros: They take your money timely. Cons: After they take your money, you're no longer a priority. Don't use them
They changed delivery date by one week on day to be delivered. They false advertise. They advertise Tracking; Trusted; Reliable/on-time which were all false. You can't talk to a supervisor and the customer reps are all scripted. Filing a complaint resulted in a waiting period of 24 hours (when trying to find our vehicles and why it was going to take 1 week to go 300 miles. They said they'll respond by email, they don't talk on the phone. DON'T USE them. THERE NOT HONEST.

Pros: The price is cheap . Cons: Dependable auto can't promise an exact shipping date.
I picked Dependable Auto Shipper because they offered he best rate with expedited service . My vehicle sat on their lot for five days before even leaving the drop off terminal. My vehicle is now eight days late . They only thing they offered me was a refund on the expedite fees . I'm not sure when my vehicle will arrive. The date has been pushed back twice .

Stay away
by gsfo ,May 03 '06
Pros: none Cons: damage to vehicle, refused to pay for damage
Shipped my car from Long Beach to Hawaii. I paid extra for insurance. The car arrived damaged (over $2,000). The most they would pay was 6% of the cost.
Refused to cooperate with me.
If you value your car, don't use them

DAS ---Buyer beware
by damagedcar ,Dec 01 '05
Pros: NONE Cons: Delivery Time, Damage, Customer Service
I used DAS to transport my car cross country. It arrived a week later, after I paid for it to be expedited. Upon arrival it had close to $4500 of damage done to it. It took me over 6 weeks and a lot of phone calls on my part to get the situation resolved. They had no sympathy that they did that much damage to my car which was a year old at the time.

Do Not Use Dependable Auto Shippers - UPDATE
by ddzurilla ,Jun 13 '05
Pros: They appear courteous and helpful. Appearances are way wrong in this case. Cons: Dependable Auto Shippers are anything but dependable.
It's July 4th. I had to fly to FL to pick up my car and drive it back to CA myself. DAS is terrible! You'll make a very big mistake if you use them. I'm not sure what's worse: their incompetent car shipping ability or their horrific customer service. Stay away from them.
Dependable Auto Shippers don't live up to their name. They are easily the worst company I've ever done business with. My car was to be shipped from FL to CA on May 23. As of this writing on June 13, my car is still in FL waiting to be shipped. My countless attempts to contact the company for explanation have gone nowhere. Dependable Auto Shippers are not a reliable, helpful, or cost effective option. Be warned now. Stay away from them. It will only cost you more in the long run. Not to mention it's not worth the hassle and headaches. Stay away. Feel free to email me at dean_dzurilla@hotmail.com if you'd like to learn more.

DAS not dependable at all
by mossmoss ,Jul 09 '07
Pros: matched quotes received from other auto shippers Cons: Cars still not received a month later
We did a corporate move and moved 9 cars. We did alot of homework before choosing Dependable Auto Shippers and thought we were going with the best. Turns out we went with the biggest not the best. It has been over a month and not one car has arrived. We moved from Vegas to Ft Lauderdale and the cars are all in California.
There is nothing dependable about them. Keep looking

Save yourself a headache, find another shipper!
by heydedes ,Sep 30 '05
Pros: Local towing service contracted by DAS on pick-up and delivery was excellent. Cons: Full payment required upfront, lack of concern to deliver in timely manner. Uncooperative management.
I choose DAS because I thought I would receive excellent service dealing directly with the shipper and because of their online tracking service. The car was picked up on Labor Day in Arizona and didn't arrive in North Carolina until September 29th, long past the last day of projected delivery. The car sat at their terminal in Arizona for an extended amount of time. The "customer service agents" had no answers regarding the delay. The requests to have a supervisor return my calls went unanswered. Only after I sent registered letters to both the founder and president of their company was any action taken regarding car movement. This is the third time I have shipped a car across country. The comparison of their company to the other two companies doesn't even compare, this was extraordinarily bad. I would go out of my way to discourage anyone from using their services. Also, check out BBB online before making arrangements with a company for useful info.
