IT TOOK 3 WEEKS TO GET MY CAR

Das is a terrible company that only cares about your money!  They DAMAGED my car!  The driver got in an accident and it cost me $1100 out of my own pocket!  DAS told me they were sorry but couldn't give me anything other than $150 because I didnt' pay EXTRA for "THEIR SPECIAL INSURANCE".  These DAS drivers are negligent.  Erin Almand (see her on facebook and linkedin) the manager, completely ignored all of my emails.  Erin Almand is a terrible executive.  Erin Almand does not know how to delegate.  She doesn't know anything about customer service. In addition, DAS took 22 days to deliver my vehicle to me.  It was picked up on time, however, it SAT for over 2 weeks in the DAS New Jersey warehouse waiting for a carrier!

Pros: I have not found a pro yet. 
Cons:   DAS should change their name  DEPENDABLE is NOT the word they should be using.

My vehicle was picked up to be shipped by DAS on Oct. 12, 2009.  It was to be moved from Las Vegas to upstate NY and I was given a Estimated Time of Arrival of Oct. 28, 2009.  It is currently November 5, 2009 and my car is still at the tow company in Vegas and has NEVER even been loaded for transport.  I now have an ETA of 11/11/09 but that changes to another day later with each day that passes.  Soon, I will have not been in possession of my vehicle for 1 month and DAS reps do not seem the least bit concerned.  I am at the point where I am contacting other shippers and trying to find someone who is DEPENDABLE and can actually get my vehicle to me in a reasonable period of time.  DAS was in a hurry to get my payment for shipping but have been very slow to show any motivation to provide the service that I paid for.  I have other family members who are moving in the very near future and I have warned them away from DAS. 

Pros: Good tracking and accurate. Arrived when promised. 
Cons: Crap insurance without purchasing extras. Sloppy loading and unloading. Hood was covered in oil.

READ the fine print. DAS only covers up to $150 in damages.
DAS cracking my front bumper is costing me $3,000 to replace.
For that $3,000, I could have sent it enclosed, with AC....and roses.
Basically the same happened the first time I used DAS. They tear up your car and then offer you $150 max.

Cons: Damage, no contact from claims just emails.  two weeks no answer.

Do not use them they will damage your car and leave you hanging...  I did not see them dependable period.

Pros: Service, honesty, accurate, dependable, timely, personized service, adaptable to my needs.
Cons: I honestly can not
think of anything that could have improved my experience.

What can I possibly say about a company that delivers my pickup truck not only on time and in clean, pristine condition, but also delivers it on Thanksgiving Day!  I was shocked when I recieved the call from the driver telling me that he would be arriving shortly.  I paid for door to door service, and he dropped the truck exactly where I asked him to drop it.  From the initial on line quote, the personal service with my contact das lady, the entire experience could not have been better.  I need another truck shipped and I will be a repeat customer.  The company got their name right, DEPENDABLE AUTO SHIPPERS!  I got very nervous reading some of the apparent horror stories that others have written in regards to their experience with this company, but all I can do is report on my own personal experience with das and how I was treated during the time that I have dealt with them.  I will be very interested in seeing how my next encounter compares with this experience.  I wish every company that I deal with in life were as competant as das hasbeen with me.

Paid for expedited shipping from San Diego to Illinois. one car arrived only 2 days late - but in the wrong city. The other took weeks. Their policy is they refund the extra 250 for expedited shipping if it is 5 days late. They count their days starting when they actually leave the depot so my car they left in San Diego for weeks was in their opinion "on time"

Calling is useless you get 45 minutes of hold music then cut off every single time UNLESS you call and push through the menu pretending to be a new customer then you get right through very time in seconds. Very rude people on the phone - just dont care unless you are a corporate account. Several people said they would call back - and did not. It took hours of legwork and calls on my end to get my cars and cost me hundreds of extra dollars in car rentals and i got to pay extra for all that fun.

Pros: My car appears to have no physical damage.
Cons: Slow service. Complete lack of security.

When my car arrived at the destination terminal the rear license plate had been stolen, the original Bill of Lading had been lost (supposedly), and someone had put 183 miles on my car while it was in DAS' possession. All DAS has offered to do for me is refund $50 and 'investigate' the situation.

Car took over 2 weeks to arrive. Bad customer service. Had a suitcase in my trunk and when it arrive my pair of Nike Jordans were stolen!!

Pros: Satellite Tracking (shows you your car isn't gonna get to you in time)
Cons: Did not ship in 14 days, and worse yet, took another week on top that.

The car was dropped off at the terminal, they promise to ship within 14 days of the drop off date. Although it was dropped off before the cut off time for that day, they show on the website it wasn't dropped off until the next day. The car sat around for 9 days at the terminal before finally being loaded. The car then moved the next two days from Columbus, OH to Frankfort, IL. That is only a 5 hour drive and it took 2 days. Needless to say, it sat there until the 14th day, when I finally called in to ask what was going on. There was confusion and finally I received a call back saying something about some drivers having a family emergency and it would now be another week for delivery. I am furious that it took so long to deliver my car, and even more aggravated that they didn't call me when they found out it wouldnt be delivered on time. Overall I am extremely unsatisfied with my experience with UnDependable Auto Shippers.

Horrible.  Customer service, even before we "signed on", was apathetic, at best.  We only used DAS because we didn't have the time to find someone else.  Cost was somewhat ambiguous, with unknown "port fees" at the destination site that couldn't be approximated before shipping.  No documentation of receipt was provided when we dropped our vehicle off, and the Bill of Laden wasn't e-mailed to us until a full week after the car was on the ship.  DAS severely underestimated the time my car would wait in customs, then proceeded to charge me storage fees until customs could get around to my car.  Customer service along the entire process was inefficient, incompetent, slow and decentralized.  My dedicated "agent" knew nothing except how to take my money-  he didn't even know what documentation I'd need to ship my car.

DAS is NOT what their web site states. The tracking is the poorest I have ever used. The customer service staff is poor at best they are a unaware as poor uninformed customer. People should contact their local AG office and file a complaint for deceptive advertising they didn't meet any of their service advertisements.

When moving from Texas to Minnesota, I decided to have my car shipped instead of driving it. I dropped the car of at the DAS terminal on April 25th and was told that it would arrive in Minnesota on May 5th. It is now May 21st and the car has still not arrived. According to DAS' website, the car arrived in Minneapolis on the 19th. When I call their tracking hotline, it states that the car is at their terminal outside of Chicago and is expected to arrive in Minnesota on the 23rd. DAS does a poor job of coordinating their tracking tools. Since the car has been delayed so long, I have been forced to rent a car while I wait for my car to arrive. When I call and speak to a DAS representative, they do not provide any help and all they say is that everything is an estimate. I would never again use DAS nor recommend it to anybody.
