Pros: Cheap. Cons: You get exactly what you don't pay for.
Although my experience with U-Haul happened many years ago, it has stayed with me, it was so awful. I would NEVER recommend U-Haul to anyone, and if I could give it less than one star, I would.
I rented a 12-foot truck in Anaheim, California...

Pros: Mobile repair specialists are first-rate. Cons: Everything and anything else associated with the truck rental.
I've moved many times over the past ten years and usually have used U-Haul for the moves. My last experience with them will likely be the last.
Using U-Haul's online reservation system, I reserved a one-way rental truck (17 foot) from...

Pros: internet site and online quotes. Cons: Poor service, availability, and prices.
Being an optimist, I’m not usually a complainer. But with U-Haul, I’m taking the liberty of stepping out of my comfort zone.
I’ve used U-Haul twice. I don’t really know what possessed me to try it a second time—the first time should have...

Pros: YOU DON'T PAY A MOVING VAN OR FOR DELIVERY FROM A STORE Cons: YOU PROBABLY DON'T HAVE THE EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO MOVE YOUR OWN THINGS
I own a large store with very large piece of furniture and large appliances that some people want to move all by themselves from my store to far away homes. I cannot tell you how many of these people have rented from the U-Haul truck company to do this,...

Pros: spacious trucks Cons: they never service them, guzzle gas, poor management
This is a long and drawn out story so let me try to make it as brief and painless as possible. I was 23 years old and leaving college for the summer to return to my home town. I had call the 800-number reservations line and arranged to pick the next to...

Pros: Truck has extra "attic" space and low unloading platform Cons: Uhaul is absolutely unreliable and does not follow through with its promise
Uhaul where to begin?
Formulating a fair review about a company with whom you have a negative history is easier said than done. When I reflect on the name Uhaul the thoughts that immediately come to mind are not appropriate for...

Pros: cheap Cons: poor management and planning, equipment that breaks
I've participated in many U-Haul based moves -- both of my own things and when helping out friends. A few of these moves have been hassle free, but most of them have not. The UHaul problems I have encountered over the years include:
1. Being...

Pros: Bargain basement Cons: Basement
After being cheated by Ryder the last time I rented a truck, I thought I'd try U-Haul. Next time I'll go for Penske; they cost more, but I think it will be worth it. There are lots of thorough reviews on this site, so I'll keep this brief. U-Haul p ...

Pros: there's a location EVERYWHERE Cons: they nickle and dime you to death, plus they make no guarantees on reservations
You need a vehicle with some cargo room, because most likely you're moving from one home to another. Where do you go?
Well, there's a few national contenders out there... Penske, Ryder, and U-Haul.
The advantage of U-Haul over the...

Pros: none. this company is the worst Cons: dead trucks, nonresponsive service people, dangerous equipment
There are few companies I hate more than U Haul. Granted, I was raised to detest this purveyor of dilapidated trucks and trailers--but over the years, circumstances sometimes left me with U Haul as the only option.
My first bad experience,...

Pros: Normally inexpensive. Cons: Customer service, locations, safety.
For some reason the moving business is dirty. When you rent a car a smiling, cheerful individual greets you at the counter and clearly tells you all the options available. But renting a moving truck is completely the opposite (from my experience)....

Pros: Affordable, reliable Cons: Hidden costs, poor customer service
Since, I moved out on my own 7 years ago, I have moved a lot. At least once a year. That's not counting all the friends I have helped move in the past several years too. In the majority of these moves I have used the services of UHaul. Granted I would...

Pros: Lowest Price Cons: Faulty Brakes, Leaky Roof, Rude Customer Service
My partner and I were moving about 35 miles down the road to be closer to work and to the city life. We had planned everything well in advance. We even had our entire house boxed up and ready to go a week in advance!
Then the big day came....

Pros: Their trucks are extremely easy to drive. Cons: Way too many to list. See above.
Where to begin with U-haul? My most recent experience with them was actually with my best friend, who recently moved from Minnesota to Phoenix, AZ. He had reserved a truck from the U-haul website about 2 months before he moved. The day before we were ...
